Great otterbox quality with no muffled sound Does not come with a screen protector (an included screen protector would make this a perfect deal but oh well!) This seller also offers this product at half of what everyone else does! Great value! I will buy a second one for my wife!

Updates, it’s been about 3 months and so far so good. It’s clean and it hasn’t stretched. I got used to the extra bulk that it adds. Bought the otter box glass separately since this didn’t come with a screen protector. Glad I did because I dropped it so many times. Phone is in great like new condition still. The screen protector cracked though. Kind of upset cause the protector was $20 on its own. I just got the xr and coming from the 6s this thing is huge. So Two things 1. I have never owned a larger phone before and 2. The case makes it even larger!! I wish I went with the regular xs. Anyways the case. Big and bulky, 2 no screen protector and I didn’t even know the defender made a screen less version. Had to spend $19 to buy the alpha glass. So no it wasn’t really worth the money because I wanted an all inclusive protector . The back of the case is smooth no grip what so ever. The sides are kind of grippy I guess but not like the rubber protectors. I haven’t dropped my phone yet. So that’s a plus. I do t know what to do with this phone. It’s way too big for me. I hate carrying a purse and it’s too big for my pocket.

For all the reviews that said this was hard to install, or broke your screen protector, you’ve either never had an Otter Box before and/or misaligned your screen protector. If you install a tempered glass screen protector, use the guide plate and make sure it’s on perfectly. Otherwise it may stick out and the case may catch it when you put it on. Use a credit card to take rubber backing off and to help pop the clips to separate the phone case. After that it all snaps back together easily. Probably took me all of 90 seconds to do.

My husband will not use anything but the otter defender and loved this new dark blue one. This is a wonderful option for someone who is rough on their phone. We are in construction and it can take plenty of punishment without any damage to the phone. He used his former one for 3 years and it held up beautifully and the phone looked brand new when we removed it for a trade up.

Solid quality grip friendly case for iPhone XR. It is a big case and a little bulky but it still fits into a jeans back pocket. It is too big for front pockets. I like the rubber like grip feel of the case. It won't slide out of your fingers if greasy or sweaty. No screen protector so had to buy that separately. Feel confident if my phone is dropped on cement or hardwood floor it will survive so it's worth the price

Definitely increased the width of phone almost feels big for me BUT it covers the back camera very good. The old case I had only had a few hairs of clearance from the lens to the case and would of cracked for sure if it fell . Half the price of the stores and fits me for my job as a truck driver.

I was distraught when I had discovered that this case had no integrated screen protector for the iPhone Xr model because I have always liked the Defender series. My solution was to purchase tempered glass screen protectors and use them with this case. I like this set up even better because I can change out the screen protector any time I want. With cases that employ integrated screen protectors, which are plastic, once they are scuffed up, you have to but an entire new case. So, I'm really happy with this set up of Otter box protection and changeable screen protectors. It's the best of both worlds! And I love the color and look.

Sure it doesn’t come with a screen protector, but what’s the big deal? The old defenders screen protectors stunk. The scratched easily and left the rainbow/oil slick mark right under the screen protector. I used to actually rip them out and put a screen protector on anyway for for me this is perfect. Does it add some bulk? Sure, but for me it’s not that bad. Let’s be honest, the XR is a big phone no matter what case you put on. The included belt Holster is nice, protects the screen. Old cases I would just throw them in my pocket and they would get scratched up pretty easily. So I prefer the holster. Nice grip, it’s not gonna slide out of my hand or off my pant leg if it’s resting there. The buttons are a little stiff but nothing that’s going to hinder anything. Ports are covered. All around, at the moment there aren’t many cases for this phone, so out of all the ones I tried, this one is best. Don’t worry about the lack of built in screen protection, it’s for the best being the defenders I’ve had that are new, they no longer offer it. I use the spigen screen protectors, two pack for the XR. Easy application and nice and clear. That’s the combo I am using right now. Give this a chance, you might like it.

I unfortunately go through phones on a two-year cycle. I drop them. A lot. Sometimes they even seem to leave my hand with downward force, crashing hard onto concrete. Maybe it's bad luck. Maybe I'm hard on things. Maybe it's a gypsy curse (please don't perpetuate rumors against the Romani people like I just did). Whatever the case (yep), I have never seen a phone go for water damage, a cracked (or even more than a little scratched) screen, or any sort of external physical damage. I suspect all those falls are knocking the solder joints loose on those little motherboards. Bottom line, the Otterbox has done an amazing job. I don't miss the plastic screen protector because I always removed it anyway, but you might. Every other one I've owned has had an outer soft shell that stretches over the course of about a year, at which point I prefer to shake things up with a new case. So far this hasn't but I've only had it one month.

First, for some background, I go back to the Otterbox Defender for iPhone 3, and similar cases since including the Lifeproof Fre for the iPhone 6 and 7 plus, and now XR. The ratings so far, 2.5 stars on 7 reviews, aren’t reflective of the excellent quality of this case. Some expected a screen protector, which is understandable, but that doesn’t justify a one-star review. Purchased the Defender on amazon.ca for $45CAD. Yes, CAD. That was a great deal. It’s now $76 for the Big Sur (green) colour. This is an excellent case as mentioned, and feels very good in the hand. Yes, it’s a bit bulky, but there are other options such as the Lifeproof Fre (which as of this writing isn’t available yet) if you want a thinner case with great protection (based on my experience with the Fre for the 7 plus). Personally I don’t mind the bulk, as protection is more important to me. As for drops, I’m usually pretty careful with the phone, so hopefully won’t have to worry about that and comment how the Defender will protect if the phone is dropped, but the Fre protected the 7 plus pretty well when dropped once or twice, so the Defender should work well for that too. I was trying to decide between the Defender and Fre for the XR, ultimately deciding tempered glass may be the better screen protector - and provide a clearer screen (and it does appear to be just that) - than the plastic shield on the Fre, if the shield on the 7 plus Fre case is any indication. Using Moko’s tempered glass, which is pretty clear and easy to install. Was going to buy Invisible Shield+ at 4 times the price of the Moko, but decided to give the Moko a shot, and it seems fine so far. Not sure what the difference may be between the two. So $56CAD for the Defender + Moko glass, vs maybe $80CAD for the Lifeproof. So pricing may be similar between the two (assuming $76 at this writing for the Defender) after adding in the cost of tempered glass on the Defender. If there’s one gripe, it would be the flap to open the charging port. It feels like this may wear out over time, or maybe, it’s just tight to begin with and will loosen up over time. However, as far as the charging port flap goes, I did buy the Mophie Qi wireless charging base, and will not need to worry about the flap unless needing a charge while out and about without the Mophie. I can confirm the XR Defender case works with the Mophie wireless charger. Perhaps the other reviewer who couldn’t get wireless charging to work was using a different charger. But yes, it does work 100% with the Mophie.
