For the first time I installed LED strings on my house across the entire roof and gutter lines. I bought what were advertised as the most natural warm white, but when I turned them on, they were way too bright! (I should have bought C7 not C9 bulbs). I was horrified, as I had invested a lot of time and money. Luckily, I had just bought this dimmer for our outside deck string lights (not LED). It had worked great for those, and we switched it to the Christmas LED strings. On 25%, they now look great. The remote turns them on from inside the house. I look forward to seeing how this works with a timer. The memory setting is a crucial feature for this. By the way, it has rained for several days and I have no problem with this getting wet.

This is a nifty little add on for my outdoor led party lights. I use this to control my Brightech Ambience Pro - Waterproof LED Outdoor String Lights - Hanging, Dimmable 2W Vintage Edison Bulbs. https://www.amazon.com/Brightech-Ambience-Waterproof-Outdoor-String/dp/B00WVOV3W2 I have 3 strands end to end for a total of 45 light bulbs. I have them plugged into this Remote Control Dimmer, which is then plugged into the outlet on my patio. On the remote, all of the preset brightness values (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) seem very accurate. There is also a plus and minus button to adjust the brightness in small increments between the preset levels. I can dim these bulbs all the way down to the point where they put off barely any light at all, full brightness, or anything in between. This works extremely well and allows me to set the brightness precisely how I want it. When I turn the lights off for the night, and turn them back on the following night, the brightness level remains where it was left. The remote also has timer functions. Just press the timer you want (2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours, or 8 hours). When pressed, the lights will briefly flash letting you know that the timer has been set, and that's that. The lights shut off when they are supposed to. It couldn't be easier. I use this pretty much every night. Additionally, the remote does not require a line of sight to the unit. As long at the remote is within a reasonable distance from the unit, just press the buttons and it works. For reference, I have used the remote indoors close to 50ft from the unit outdoors, and it has worked fine every time. I have read conflicting reports on whether this device can be left out in the rain (the receiver, not the remote). I didn't want to take any chances so I bought one of these, which i put the device in and close to keep out the water. Not sure if necessary. https://www.amazon.com/Twist-Seal-Maxx-Pack-Protection/dp/B0743PHM94 All in all this is a great addition to my patio string light setup. Without this my lights were way too bright. This allows me to set them up however I want, for as long as I want. Love it.

So far so good! I bought this dimmer because I needed one that would work with my smart outlet timer. I tested it before I made my final install of the lights and unplug the Demar power waited 2 minutes plugged it back in and it retain the dimmer setting that I had before I unplugged it I also tried it with my smart timer and when the smart timer came back on it retained the dimmer setting I had previously set. This is exactly what I needed to be able to set on and off times with my smart outlet and have Pete Emory teen the preset of 50% on a daily basis when the lights are turned on and off automatically with my smart outlet timer.

Everything about this unit appears well thought out, well made and well assembled. The spec's are great: 100-foot remote range... 300W max to accommodate 24-bulb (11W each) light strings... ample options on the remote controller... and on and on. HOWEVER... I've just returned the second unit for the same reason as the first: The electronics in the remote circuitry - either the controller or the receiver - appear to be incompatible with a Ground Fault Interruptor receptacle. GFI boxes are a common component of any exterior AC circuit. If the manufacturer or the seller knows they are a problem, they should clearly state that. If they don't know, perhaps this will guide them to do some investigating. I really like and want to use this device, but the two I've tried share a deal-breaking fault: They worked fine with the ON-OFF control as well as the timer. But both immediately tripped the GFI box. The box has supplied current to a variety of fairly high-draw power tools for a number of years (and still does - I tested it) and can therefore be declared fully functional. I'm puzzled and disappointed. If I can be convinced that, perhaps, the two units I had were part of a faulty production run, I will happily buy one again.

I had purchased one before that was not able to handle this many watts and overheated. I plugged this one in and has worked perfectly ever since. I use this switch with the Lemontec Commercial Grade Outdoor String Lights with 15 Hanging Sockets - 48 Ft Black lights. The BEST thing is it comes with 2 REMOTES! May not be a big deal to some but I use them across two areas of my basement so that you can control it from either end. The remote has 12 buttons... Power On and Power Off.... 4 timer buttons that turn the lights off in 1, 2, 3, and 4 hr segments. There are 4 buttons that control the intensity of the lights.... 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. It dims the lights to those percentages. There are also 2 buttons that are for dimming or raising the lights in smaller segments. You can set the mood for any occasion....if you know what I mean. I like at 50% when we are watching movies. (I have 11 watt light bulbs). The remote works well a far distances. I have not checked to see exactly how far but there are a number of different items between the remote and the box and it works perfectly. You don't have to have a clear path for the remote to work. With 360 watts available, I put two 60 watt bulbs in an area I wanted more light and it handled it just fine. You can change the bulbs in your string to whatever you watts want just so you don't exceed 360. I HIGHLY recommend this product! I am very satisfied and happy with it and I think you will be too! UCANTRUSTME! I did NOT receive this item free for my review. I paid for it with my own money! Cheers!

Bought this with the hope that it would work with my Feit Electric LED patio lights from Costco. Seems to work great! There are 4 different presets and separate buttons for manual increase and decrease of light intensity. Box is well made with mounting flanges. It also holds your power level settings after you've unplugged it which is very handy. The remote works off of IR, not RF, so you'll need line of sight to be able to control it with your remote. I mounted it under one of my eves.

This product is exactly what I needed to dim a strand of outdoor lights. Originally they were incandescent but slowly had replaced the burnt out bulbs with these: "Brightech Ambience PRO LED S14 2 Watt Dimmable Bulb - Equal to 20-25W Incandescent Bulbs - Outdoor String Lights – Edison-Inspired Exposed Filaments Design- 15 Pack - E26 Base" purchased at Amazon. They are really bright, in fact almost too bright for comfort. The dimmer works great to lessen their brightness. And the best part is the dimmer *works with a twilight on/off switch insomuch as it retains its dimmer setting even when powered off. So when your timer or light sensor turns the lights back on, they come on at the SAME SETTING they were on the last time.

After using the dimmer for a couple of months I am satisfied that the dimmer functions properly. We have had a few power outages and the dimmer always comes back on at the same level it was on before the power outage. The dimmer is mounted outdoors under the roof eves but does not seem affected by the weather. The remote works from a short distance from inside. The power settings of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% do not appear to translate into similar changes in brightness. The 25% power level appears to be about half of the maximum brightness. Perhaps it is an optical illusion.

(Review for “Newpow 48ft LED Globe String Lights Waterproof Dimmable with 25 G40 Filament Bulbs (2 Extra) 1W (10W Equivalent) 60Lm, Vintage Edison Indoor/Outdoor String Lights for Room Patio Backyard - Black” —The reviews for this product and a dimmer device are mixed together on Amazon’s product page.) Arrived with all 25 bulbs intact (includes 2 extra; the string itself has 23 sockets). The bulbs are much smaller than I expected, about 1-3/4 inches (see photo). I haven’t installed these lights in my backyard gazebo yet but they should be plenty bright. (I bought the Newpow dimmer to use with them.) To remove the lights from the package requires unscrewing each bulb. The wiring set itself is essentially a Christmas light string, with clips to provide a mounting option. Note that the bulbs are “G40” style, which here means a globe 40 mm (1.67 inches) diameter. G40 also refers to a much larger globe-shaped bulb 40 cm in circumference, which is 5 inches in diameter.

I purchased this for my barn that didn't have a regular light switch. The install was easy to do. Just plug it in and use the remote button. My kind of install!! The remote control has the predetermined percentages which is an added plus. No more back and forth trying to tweak it. Also the remote is higher quality!! I'm really impressed! This is exactly what I was hoping for! Great purchase for the money. Would absolutely buy again.
