A must with any portable AC unit!

The Hoomee window kit is ingenious! During August I lived in a dorm at the University of Washington for a post-graduate program. The old dorms had no AC and terrible ventilation. Further, the air was filled with smoke from wildfires. Air conditioning and avoiding open windows was a must. Without the hoomee window kit I would have been out of luck and would have hauled a very heavy and expensive AC unit for nothing. The window attachments that came with my Black & Decker portable AC unit didn’t work at all. The hoomee directions were easy to follow and worked very well with the push-out windows. After 2 weeks, the adhesive-backed Velcro came off with minimal effort and showed no signs it had ever been stuck to the window frame. Living in an old yucky dorm in my late 30s was hard enough but I wouldn’t have survived without this handy product.

This worked like a charm

This worked like a charm! My apartment windows open several different ways, none that would allow for the prefabricated piece that came with the AC unit to work. Maybe took me about 20 minutes to install? Just make sure you do some measurements before, but very happy with the final result!

I'm happy with buying it

I'm happy with buying it. The window in one room of our house can not install window AC. We think to change the window. But this is too expensive.I came to my friend's house, and I saw she bought a portable air conditioner. It looked very nice and I made up my mind to buy one too. It can good fit our window. Our new portable AC came quickly, but to my disappointment, the panel kits cannot work well for our window. Hot air would come back inside the room, making the bedroom uncomfortably hot and humid. Personally speaking, I don't feel too much the temperature dropped. I bought this window seal. It seems to be high quality but helped immensely, it keeps the windows completely closed throughout my bedroom. I can sleep so much better from then on. It's as our expectations in mind and we have been totally satisfied. By the way, if you are an extreme environmentalist like me, you would find it is a good choice to save the energy. Very creative product.

Perfect for casement windows!

Awesome product! Affordable & durable... I had a little trouble with figuring out how to install it at first because of my unusual windows, but I sent the seller a photo of my window & they replied very promptly with custom instructions for my window and a diagram to help me install it. (See image attached - it could help you too!) would highly recommend and would buy again!

The solution I sort of semi- visualized but didn't make

For several years I struggled with the problem of effectively sealing my double French window in order to vent my portable AC. Best I could do was cut to fit and wrestle into place a gi-normous piece of cardboard cut from a shipping box to cover the full window frame. Blocked the light, less than airtight, and really, really Ugly. This is a simple, low tech solution. The double-access zipper tags (intended for 2-hose AC's), allow for a hand to reach out to adjust and reposition the (single) vent hose's "snout" when necessary while maintaining a grip on the hose. While not exactly an aesthetic ideal, the strip of white fabric is far more discreet than cardboard, only one side of the window is open, just enough to accommodate the width of the hose. The curtains remain in place, I have daylight, and the street view is barely noticeable. And, yes(!), the AC cools efficiently. Because it had to line the top of the one open side of the window as well as the vertical gap between the two, it took nearly the whole length of the fabric, with only inches to spare. I am in a drought area, so had only one wind/rain event in several months, but it held up to it. Once the weather cooled and the AC stored, I had to also remove the hook strip of the velcro to be able to close the window normally. It lost most of its "sticky", so may have to buy/cut some new next time.

Easy, Inexpensive solution to a cooling problem.

I ordered this for the bedroom above the garage that is always hot during the summer. I had a portable unit from my daughter's college days but thought it would be impossible to use because I have casement windows. I had been looking at other ventless AC units on Amazon when I came upon this window seal solution. It works great! I got it in the mail on Saturday and installed it on Sunday. Easy install. 10 to 15 minutes max. Got an email message from the supplier HOOMEE asking if I needed help installing it, but I had already done it before I got the message and the link to an instruction video. The printed directions that came with the seal were very self explanatory, but it did help to see the photos other reviews had posted to see it on the window. My only issue was of my own making. I did not contact HOOMEE before I ordered a size to see how exactly to determine the size you needed. I just based it on a review I saw and looked at their window size. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this product. A inexpensive and quick fix to use a portable AC unit with casement windows. Would recommend it without hesitation. My window still closes properly with the window seal installed and it hold my exhaust tube properly when in use or not in use. It comes with ties to attach the hose to the zippers of the seal to make sure it all stays together and secure. Best $ I think I have ever spent to make my home more comfortable for guests using that bedroom.

Suitable for our air conditioner

The hot season is coming, I bought this window seal. It is simple but very pratical. Now, hot and cold air can be perfectly segregated and maintains a uniform environment inside our room. I tried to mount the velcro on the window frame and then on the casement. Then just quickly fasten the window seal onto the velcro. Within around ten minutes, everything is done neatly. The window still can be opened and closed without any problem. We can enjoy our summer season with cool air, fantastic. I am sure it will be HIGHLY EFFICIENT IN ENERGY SAVING utilization! I would love to order another one for my children’s bedroom.We have a thumbs up.

Honestly was looking for something all over for my in swing window for my ac hose and this is it! My window is 48x48 so it's huge and allows a lot of light in so with this not block this it's perfect, and keeps the warm air out! Because I am short and got a size too big for the window it was a bit difficult to install but I got it figured out.

Can be hacked for sliding windows

These aren’t meant for sliding windows but I needed this type of product so decided to try it and I’m very happy. It’s not the perfect fit that it would be in a casement window but it works perfectly, just add the Velcro tale to all four sides and undo the two short sides at the top and bottom to close the window. Extremely easy to install and working great.
