Weather Striping / Door Draft Blocker

These are my holy grail. I had to keep towels behind my doors because there was literally so much cold air coming in underneath my door, it was like a fan just blowing cold air into my house. I've even had like tiny bugs, spiders, little worms etc. coming in also. I ordered the draft blockers and I put them on all my doors I had air coming in. They were very easy to install, but make sure you get them straight as you can because they are hard to pull off! They work great on tile and even carpet, I was impresse!! You just put the stripping right above where the carpet meets the door and it glides perfectly. It keeps the air out amazingly, I never felt any cold air coming in again. Will be ordering more of these!!

Works perfect. Draft is out, looks appealing and am so glad i purchased this. You can cut and adjust to the length of your doors. I actually cut it too short but was able to use some from the other piece that I was discarding to make up for it. Cant even tell! Love this and will purchase more in the future.

Does its job!

I will admit that I was not expecting much when I purchased this. I have tried several different draft stopping devices for the doors in my house (they have all been substandard at best). This, however, really blew me away. It is super easy to install, blends in beautifully with my doors and, most importantly, keeps the wind drafts outside of the house. Really great bang for your buck.

Keeps bugs and drafts out. Does the job!

Although I've only used this product for two weeks I've noticed no more bugs and a reduction in air drafts. I am so glad I bought this product. Allow me to provide some additional information: I used this product on two metal doors in my basement that has a completely cemented floor. The door that leads to the garage was put on the outside of the door (facing into the garage) and the door that leads outside I put on the inside of the door. I had communicated with the Mr. Rice company as I was concerned about applying these in the chilly temperature. They recommended that I use a hair dryer on the adhesive area (red strip) for a few seconds that will make the adhesive stickier. Before doing that I thought I would use the hair dryer on the door bottoms as well, again, for a few seconds. The first section the red strip came off perfectly. However, the second one I must have heated it too long as the adhesive came up with the corner of the strip. I pushed it backed down and held it in place for about 10-15 seconds. The red strip came right up with no adhesive and I could still feel warmth. I used a box cutter to cut the sections to the correct length. I had a wallpaper roller and used that to secure the adhesive sections to the doors. My next project is to determine which of my other basement doors I want to apply the third section to.

Good and green

I used 4 of these per door covering the bottom, top, and knob side; much less drafty and still looks nice. I'd encourage everyone to use a yardstick and peel the tape off carefully from the side you didn't cut to make sure the glue remains on the item instead of the tape.
