Okay, so I got this from my husband for Christmas and I love it! I like that it tracks everything!!! I do wish the battery lasted longer than 5 days... but when charging only takes like 2hrs. I always just put it on to charge while I'm in the shower or early morning when I'm having coffee while the kids sleep. Fast charging!!! I loved it so much I bought my husband one about 4 days ago.

Garmin, you're still the one! After trying several trackers, Garnin is still the one for me. The fit of the small, on my rather large wrist, is most comfortable. The back of the device is curved and nothing protrudes to dig into my wrist. The band is narrow, feminine, and made if a smooth and flexible material. While it would be great if you could change bands, the gray with rose gold hardware will go with most any attire. Advanced features including pulse oximeter are welcome upgrade from the Vivofit.

I love all of the things this measures and that it can integrate with some other apps to track other points of data such as calorie counts! It is just the right size for my small female wrist and looks nice. I am still learning all of the features and how it measures some of the metrics, which is why "Easy to Use" is at 4 stars. It really has helped me meet my goals by giving me data I need to measure for them. The only things I don't like about it is that the heart rate monitor may not always be accurate during exercise, and if I take it off for a little while in the evening and put it back on before bed, it doesn't accurately measure sleep time. Garmin does warn you that the heart-rate monitor may not always be accurate during workouts as well as tells you that wearing your device all the time will help readings be more accurate. These are also just drawbacks of a wrist-mounted fitness tracker. So I can pretty easily work around them and still love all of the information that I get from it!

I've had my Vivosmart 4 for about 2.5 weeks now. For me, it's been durable, reliable, and easy to customize via the app. I don't use the Pulse Ox option at nighttime, so my battery life has been about 5 days per full charge. Now that the weather here is improving, I'm eager to take a walk using the timer. I've noticed the inside of the band develops kind of a funky smell after a few days of wearing it (even showering with it), so I'll wipe it with a lens cleaning wipe every now and then. My last fitness tracker was a FitBit One, and I did like how it clipped to my clothes. The Vivosmart's wrist band has been kind of tough to get used to after about 15 years of not wearing a watch, but it's comfortable and not at all bulky for my small hands. Having read the other reviews on this product, I opted for the screen protectors and ordered them at the same time. I took the Vivosmart right out of the box and slapped a screen protector on it right away. For me, this was a good buy and well worth it. I think I'll opt for a Vivosmart again once this one wears out.

I had previously had a Garmin Vivofit 3 that I had used for several years (I had bought it after my college graduation). I recently got into seriously working out and decided I needed to upgrade my fitness device (since the vivofit didn't have a heart rate monitor). I spent days reading reviews and looking at several different products, but always came back to the Vivosmart 4. Now that I've owned it for over a month, let me tell you why: 1 -- It's waterproof (to a point, of course, but still waterproof). This is the MAIN reason I picked this over a Fitbit. I had my Vivofit on my wrist for exactly 3 years, and I only took it off twice -- both times to change the battery. I like being able to wear my fitness device in the pool and in the shower, and not have to worry if I fall in a lake or something. Seriously. I love this! 2 -- Battery Life. It lasts exactly one week. I charge it on Wednesday mornings at work, and it charges in less than an hour. I had resisted upgrading my fitness tracker for years because I didn't want to deal with recharging it, but charging isn't as bad as I thought it would be! I'm sure if I left the bluetooth off I could squeeze a bit more battery life out of it, but so far I'm happy with the 7-day battery life. 3 -- Size. I have very, very tiny wrists. I'm talking the circumference of my wrists are 5 3/4 inches around. I wore my Vivofit on the last hole, and even then it was a little loose! I'm able to keep the Vivosmart on the fifth hole (counting from tightest to loosest, so fifth hole from the tightest) and it fits perfectly. If I move it up to six, it slips around, which isn't good for the heart monitoring so I'll just keep it on five for now. The watch also isn't chunky/doesn't get in the way, which is what I was worried about with the Fitbit Charge (which, to be honest, is really ugly). I'm also including color choice in this "size" category, because I got the blue one. I agonized for a bit over which one to choose, since you can't change the bands, but I'm in love with the blue color! 4 -- Screen. I love the screen! I am 5'5" and 120 pounds, and have long (usually called "pianist") fingers. I have no problem using the screen. It's the perfect size. I will say that I went ahead and bought a set of screen protectors for this device, since I was worried about scratching the screen. I got a set of 6 for $8! I scratched my Vivofit screen almost all to pieces, and was worried about doing the same to this. I haven't gotten a single scratch on the screen protector, but I would still be cautious. I love how responsive the screen is (although of course it's a little hard to operate if you're in the shower/the screen is wet). The button at the bottom gives a little buzz of haptic feedback when pressed. The screen can be a bit bright at night if you move your wrist and it lights up, but you can turn that setting off (the "flick your wrist to display the screen" setting, that is). The brightness can be adjusted, and I have it on the lowest setting. I haven't had any problems with it! The different screens are super easy to scroll through and read, and although you do have to go through a few steps to be able to see your phone messages displayed on the watch (and it only shows one message at a time), I don't use that feature enough to really bother me. Which brings me to... 5 -- Notifications. While I do usually have the bluetooth on and my watch connected to it, I use the smart notifications more for checking in on who's texting/calling me than for actually seeing what the aforementioned message says. You can completely customize the notifications you receive (want to receive emails but not texts? Messenger but not phone calls? You choose!) by using the Garmin Connect app. 6 -- Garmin App. I've had a Garmin device for over three years now, and this is the first time I've really been excited to use the app. It's fun seeing all the data displayed on the app! Heart rate, calories, distance, you name it! I do wish there was an option to set "cycling" as an activity on your watch, but I'll keep using my cardio/walking/yoga activities, too. Everything is easy to find and easy to set up, and pairing your watch for the first time is super easy. Sometimes it comes unpaired (because technology, right?) and it's easy to set it back up again. 7 -- Body Battery. Um, I think this is cool? I don't really have a lot of opinions on this. Sometimes it seems really arbitrary as to how they measure the body battery level, and it'll tell me I'm exhausted on days when I haven't really done much and on days when I'm really dragging it'll say I'm 100% charged. It definitely has learned over time and is doing better than the first week I had the device on, but it's still not perfect. Since I could continue my ramble for a while, I'm going to go ahead and wrap it up here. Rest assured this has quickly become my favorite tech "accessory," and I am so glad I decided to give the Garmin Vivosmart 4 a try. If you've got any questions, I'd be glad to answer them!

I bought this, the charge 3 and the Alta hr and this is by far the best. I have very small wrists and the Vivosmart 4 was the only one that fit comfortably especially while sleeping. I was only able to wear the charge 3 for about 10 hours before I had to take it off. I didn’t even get to sleep with it on. The best feature for me on the Vivosmart 4 is the intensity minutes. It’s automatically set for 150 minutes a week of moderate intensity activity, which is what the American Heart Association recommends, but you can change it to whatever you want. During a workout it uses what would be considered your moderate intensity heart rate and vigorous intensity heart rate and adds that to your weekly goal. It’s really helpful because the vigorous activity counts twice as much as the moderate and this figures all of that out for you. I haven’t been able to get the rep counting to work for me. The count is always off, but I don’t do a lot of upper body work. I also like the body battery. It’s helpful when I’m trying to give myself a good reason to go to bed earlier. I also found the Garmin connect app to be a lot better than the Fitbit app. There’s way more info. Overall it’s a great device.

I've been a fan of Fitbit, but with their change to interchangeable wristbands and the fragility of those, I was left to search for a different wrist fitness tracker. I mainly use my watch for sleep tracker since I suck at sleeping. This product does phenomenally except if you're having a very active sleep night. I also really like the stress tracking on this so I can see how stress work makes me. lol I also prefer the Garmin app layout than the Fitbit one. Watch charges extremely fast and lasts for the suggested time. I really recommend the Garmin Vivosmart 4, I actually went ahead and bought my parents each one of these for Christmas, I know they'll like it as much as I do. Con: the only one I've noticed is that it doesn't track stairs :/ and there's no way, that I know of yet, to manually add my stairs in.

I originally ordered a Fitbit but returned it because there was no way to turn the Bluetooth off. Thank you garmin for creating a great product with health and safety in mind

UPDATE OCT 01 2018 - GPS City, the seller sent me, the shipping label that Amazon would not. Thank you GPS City! Now that I have a size a large I am able to finally use this. First let me say that even the large is not sized as Garmin states. However, it should be large enough for up to 8" wrists. Second, this thing rocks. I owned the very first Vivosmart and wore it until it died. The VS2 and the VS3 were much wider and uglier than the original and I abandoned the entire wrist worn activity tracker altogether. The VS4 is the same size as the VS1. It is as wide a typical Livestrong band. The features are simply awesome. In particular the Sleep Tracking and Pulse Ox are the highlights. I can see how well I am sleeping at night and how much oxygen is in my blood. As of now, I only have three nights of data, but two of them show a pattern of poor sleep and a solitary and short drop in SpO2 below 90% each night. It isn't low enough or long enough to suggest sleep apnea, but it is something I want to monitor - as I rarely feel refreshed in the AM. As usual, the notifications and vibrating alarm are stellar. Even the step/stair counts have been spot on for me. My only complaint is that the main screen is limited. I would love to see a home screen that had Time, Heart Rate, and maybe Steps, but I would settle for just the first two. If you ask me, this should have been the successor to the original Vivosmart. I have 185mm wrist and this won't fit, despite what Garmin says. Garmin says the small/medium will fit wrists that are 122 to 188mm in circumference. This is false. As you can see in my photo, the whole strap is just shy of 190mm long. The last hole is at 180mm, which 8mm less than the wrists Garmin says it should fit - and 2mm shorter than it needs to be in order for the excess to fit the 10mm long clasp. I am not sure who at Garmin took the measurements, but they apparently didn't consider that the last hole is unusable, as is the second to last. since it isn't long enough for the clasp to be secure.. At best, this will fit a wrist 175mm or so. The bummer is I tried to return this, but Amazon expects me to pay for the shipping, despite the product not working as stated. This is Garmin's fault, not mine.

I had searched for somethign like this for a while - there are a lot of other brands out there with similar features but the O2 sensor swaed me this way evern though it does eat into the batter life with it on while you are sleeping. What was great with my iOS iPhone is with the Garmin Connect app runnign in the back end, I get all of my notifications on my wrist! With the bright display, it's super easy to see, read and feel the vibraiton when you get a message, calendar reminder, Amazon notificaiton etc! This has been a huge and wonderful feature I didn't even know I wanted! Love it!!
