Here in the Central Valley of California we are inundated with dirt and dust in the air. Wash your car and several hours later is doesn't look washed! You can imagine what that sort of climate does to the interior of your home. The Roomba we got solves a very great part of that problem. While it doesn't do shelves and windows (wish it did), the floors look great for the first time in years and that goes a long way to cutting down the "dirty" look in our home. I strongly recommend this product along with the Wify connected Robot Vacuum. It is easy to install and simple to operate and with scheduling, the continuous cleaning is wonderful.

Admittedly, it is a luxury to have a robot clean your floors while you sit and read a book on the couch. It is important to pick up everything possible from the floor. The powerful suction requires you to pick up off the floor smaller/lighter rugs, but other than that the item works flawlessly. The first time it maps the house it takes approximately twice the amount of time once the mapped area is known... Overall, I'm a huge fan!

This unit is awesome!!! It's our second attempt to have a robot vac and I'm so glad we didn't stick with the other one. Rosie (Roomba i7) is a completely different robot than we previously experienced. We have a 1,600sqft, 10 "zone" (according to Rosie's mapping) home. Our previous model couldn't get more than 3 zones done within a charge and it had no idea where it left off, so you ended up cleaning the same zone over and over unless by some miracle it bounced into another zone. If it did get to another zone it probably died or got full before bouncing out. Not the case with our "Rosie" (i7). She is wicked smart!! Cleans each zone as she goes, so she know's where she has been, knows where she is going, and where she will go after each charge. I've scheduled her to clean 3-4 zones each day so I know what she's going to do and help make sure there isn't anything that may get in her way. The floors finally stay clean all week. And with two dogs and two teens, keeping a house full of vinyl plank flooring clean is a massive undertaking. So far, we have Rosie scheduled and she hasn't dissapointed. Hair... no problem! We have two 60lb hair dispensers (dogs). With our previous bot, I had to clean the rollers EVERY time. Take them out, use the cleaning tool to cut the hair out, etc. It's been that way with my normal vac all my life, so why would that be any different? Not with Rosie! We've had her two weeks and not a single hair in the rollers;. The most impressive thing I've ever seen! I'd love to be able to speak to the self cleaning station but it was above our comfort zone for purchasing. With as much joy as we are getting from Rosie, it's on our wish list. If you are considering a robot vac and have more than 3 zones then you really need to consider paying for a good robot that has mapping technologies so he/she can be on a routine schedule to get to all the zones. Otherwise you're just hoping the vac gets to an area that needs to be cleaned before it dies or fills up. And if you have pets... These Roomba rollers are an absolute MUST and worth every penny. Keep up the great work iRobot people. Y'all have made this family VERY happy.

Works much better then the 690 , the smart maps makes it worth the money. The floors seem cleaner, easy to set up an use once the smart maps training is complete. I had to remove the 690 from the app to allow for The Alexa show to not get confused even with a different name for it would want give me list to choose to start the cleaning. I am very pleased with the unit

So far so good with this vacuum. I was amazed at how much this Roomba was able to pick up. I have a dog and run the vacuum about 3 times a week; it does a great job. We have a large home, and it does need to recharge twice in order to complete a cleaning on our main floor. The technology is great, and it is able to navigate our house with no problems. It has only gotten stuck twice since we have had it - Once it was tangled in a string and once it became trapped in the laundry room. If I were buying again, I would probably buy with the optional waste disposal base as currently, I have to empty the dustpan each time it recharges. That, however, is a testament to how well it is cleaning.

So far I am extremely happy with this well designed product. Like other reviewers, I was hesitant to pay so much for my first robot vacuum. Since I was not convinced by cheaper competitors, I tried two other Roomba models (675 and 960) before deciding on the i7, mainly for its room mapping ability. After a couple of trial runs, I can now choose to quick-clean a small space or schedule all 1300 sq ft of my floor area right from the app. This cleans A LOT better than my crosswave vacuum mop and gets places under beds and furniture where Swiffer and regular vacuums can’t reach. Unlike my old vacuum, it’s great on edges, but, being round, it does miss corners. (However that’s where iRobot’s Braava mops take over!) With a little planning, the i7 works very smart. It lets you know if the dust bin is full. Battery life is not an issue, it will recharge and resume until finished. Instead of waiting to recharge and resume, I find it more efficient to schedule part of the house on different days, cutting cleaning time to a minimum. The best part is that I am no longer exhausted from vacuuming and mopping for hours on weekends!

Got this to help with chores and I am in love! As of this review, it has cleaned 4,300 sq. ft in 57 cleaning jobs (including some cancelled), ran for a total of 17 hours 43 min, with a dirt detect count of 106. It cleans better than my regular Dyson, if for no other reason than it will spend more time cleaning than I will and it gets the hair that I & my Dyson miss. I've had mine for just over one month, mapped 6 rooms, and deep cleaned the machine twice. I was shocked to find a full-size, wood clothes pin in its bin one day after a cleaning job and the machine was not jammed, blocked, stuck, or broken. It acted like business as usual! I found that I don't need the automatic clean feature (i7+) for the additional price and that I enjoy seeing how much is removed when I empty it myself. I am a single mom with two boys and two cats and we use this 5/7 days/week. It's never fallen down the stairs in my 4-level house. It's had to recharge in the middle of cleaning a very large area twice. I empty the bin after every job. We had a friend come over with cat sensitivity and she stayed for 7 hours with no allergic reaction after having Roomba clean 8 rooms that morning. I did get the option to name my i7 in the app. I didn't get a "birth certificate" like machines give, and I don't mind. It's a waste of paper. Give yourself this gift. After reading other reivews, I will comment that I had no issues with connecting to wifi, the app settings, or Alexa. I didn't even know it was a thing. I've never needed to contact customer service.

I read all of the information online about the various Roomba vacuums and decided on their i7 model even though it is pricey. The instruction booklet that came with the i7 was adequate for understanding the care of the vacuum along with the online information from iRobot. I had some difficulty connecting my Roomba i7 to my wireless network but was able to get it connected after 2 or 3 tries. The best information I found for setting up my Roomba i7 was in the customer comments about the product on Amazon. I was able to map the main floor of my home in 5 1/2 hours while in training mode, not cleaning mode. I prepared each room by picking up items on the floor and moving some chairs and animal toys ahead of the training run. It took 3 different training runs to make a map of my home. It is fascinating to watch the Roomba work and figure out how to clean each room. The Roomba i7 now cleans on schedule which is easy to set up on the iRobot app. The vacuum is quiet and cleans all of my main floor in just under 2 hours. I have pets with lots of pet hair and the Roomba does an excellent job of vacuuming the dirt and hair off of my tile, hardwood, and carpeted floors. I am still trying to figure out the appropriate cleaning of the Roomba itself due to the amount of pet hair. The cleaning of the Roomba itself is simple and quick, taking less than five minutes to perform. I am extremely satisfied with the Room i7 even though it is expensive. It is worth the money. My home is much cleaner on a regular basis with minimal hassle.

*Update* it's now a couple of months since I got the I7. Robot's still cleaning great, iRobot has improved the app and it's now faster and less clunky, but there's still room for improvement. I've done some mantiance now like cleaning out the rollers of pet hair(the app has a section for when mantiance is due on the robot based on usage) and I have to say it's an awesome design. Any hair caught on the rollers rolls to the sides and all you have to do is pop the roller out and pull it off the side. Then you pop the roller back in. So much better than cleaning hair off brushes like you have to on a regular vac or other robot vacs. I love the rubber rollers. I went ahead an upgraded to the i7+ with the automated robot dustbin emptying and it works great. Haven't had to empty the bag yet in a month's worth of robot cleaning. I highly recommend as it makes the robot hands free 99% of the time. I did have the robot crash(stop moving or responding to commands) after a recent software update. I had to had to hard reset the robot a couple of times the day of the automatic update(hold some buttons down on the robot for 15 seconds and wait a minute while it rebooted) but after that it went back to normal. Original review: This is the first robot vac that's not a toy. Once it mapped my entire house with a couple of training runs(took 5 hours). I was able to setup dividers for rooms in the app. Now I can say Hey Google, Vacuum the living room and the i7 gets to work on that room alone. Its awesome. It's the closest we've gotten to having rosie the robot. The house us much cleaner with it running on a schedule and the pet hair we used to find around is gone. Suction is quit good on carpet and wood floors, robot's only gotten stuck a few times and it learns from getting stuck since it doesn't seem to repeat. It's relatively quiet compared to a regular vac. Vacuums under a lot of stuff a regular vac can't reach without moving stuff. Downsides: The robot needs the lights on to properly find which room it's working on if you don't have a lot of natural lighting. It doesn't use ladar so you really can't tell it with fine control which areas to avoid like dogs water bowls, vents, etc. Instead you need to use little virtual wall devices irobot sells to keep it away from such areas(1 is included with the robot). The app is a bit slow and clunky. The robot has trouble going up some pile carpet area rugs. Sometimes it does fine on them and sometimes it has trouble climbing up them. It may be a factor with how dark the rug is, since it may trigger the don't fall off the edge sensors on darker carpet.

I was nervous because it seemed like a lot of money but it is worth every cent. It quickly learned my house and was able to easily program it. I love the cleaning power and I am constantly amazed at the amount of stuff it picks up and pulls out of the carpet. We have a high pile carpet and I was skeptical but it is amazing. I have 3 dogs, 3 cats and 3 boys and this Roomba keeps up with this busy household!!! LOVE IT!!!!
