Easy & Fun!

My girls and I are really enjoying this herb garden starter kit. My daughters are 7 and 5 and have shown interest in both cooking and gardening. We thought it would be neat to grow our own herbs. I am pretty clueless about these things so I wanted something that included everything needed. And this it does! It comes with the pots, the seeds, the soil, instructions, and even markers. It’s really easy to do; my girls did everything with very little help. Only tip I have is to make sure you know what seeds are going where because they didn’t pay attention and we are now waiting to see what sprouts up. I’m most excited to use the parsley, basil and sage. We don’t use cilantro or thyme so I wish it was rosemary and mint instead...but that is just my personal preference so that did not affect my review. The pots are now sitting on my kitchen windowsill. Now to just patiently wait for the seeds to grow so that we can have delicious herbs ready to be put in our cooing. So far, I have been very happy about this and would highly recommend it.

Great for kids to help with too

My kids are obsessed with growing things in our kitchen. We try the garden outside, but it’s hard for them to see the daily change in the plants out there. This was the perfect solution. The directions are very easy to follow. I love how all the supplies are labeled. It was great reading practice for my 1st grader. Everything comes in one neat little kit. If you were to ask my youngest what the highlight was, she would say it was expanding the soul discs. She would squeal watching. Overall we have been pleased to see the changes and the kids the thrilled to have their own “garden” to tend to!

Fun to do with my 10 year old

I was excited to order this and start a little home her garden because lately my 10 year old son has been becoming more interested in helping me cook every night. So I thought planting and using fresh herbs would be a great way to teach him more about his interests! He loved helping me plant the seeds and is enjoying coming home every day to see if anything has grown yet. I can’t wait till we have fresh herbs and he can really taste the flavors they add to the meal. Great product with everything included!

Lots of fun and easy to start

I used this herb garden starter with my kids during a home school science class. It was very easy, and the instructions are very clear. There were plenty of seeds, which is great for us because I have a black thumb and killed the whole first batch by not watering them for a few days. I am actually planning to give it another go in the spring. Overall, all of the components of the kit are great quality. The starter pots are perfect and are also not bad to look at. The seeds all sprouted quickly, within 2 days, so it was a great science lesson, and if I can keep them alive will yield some useful herbs. Perfect start to my garden!

The kiddos have been begging me for a garden and we always use fresh herbs in our recipes (which are so expensive) so I thought this would be a good place to start. I was so right! My kids loved the experience of "planting" their own mini garden and we have loved watching it grow over the past couple of weeks. I know that the excitement will just continue once we can actually use the herbs. This set really couldn't have made things any easier. It literally had everything you could ever want or need to start an herb garden, which made this busy mommas day!

Great kit!

I have to preface my review with a disclaimer: Reading is everything. Between the time that I ordered and planted, I completely forgot that this was supposed to be indoors. Having said that, I love this little kit. I have a rather brown thumb when it comes to herbs. I cannot grow cilantro to save my life. I have CILANTRO in my outdoor planter. All the herbs have sprouted, but the cilantro is by far the best. Our climate is cool, but not freezing. I am very impressed that I was able to grow herbs, in spite of my mistake.

Love having fresh herbs in the kitchen!

I needed a pinch of fresh sage for a recipe and my neighbor told me to come get a pinch off of his. He had cute little containers in his window sill with nice green herbs growing that he purchased online. I went online and found the Sowers Source Indoor Herb Starter Kit. I love to cook with fresh herbs, they are expensive, and I never seem to have what I need on-hand, so bought my own. I've only gotten as far as little green "sprouts" but so far, so good (grew super fast!). The kit is easy, and has everything you need. Would have cost a lot more if everything was purchased separate. And it is organic - no chemicals involved. I am going to buy my mom one too. Cannot stress enough what a great gift this would be for the home chef. Under $20 for long-term culinary benefit and fun! Wish someone had bought me one.

Perfect starter set!

I love cooking with fresh herbs. I’ve been wanting to grow my own and this set is the perfect one for me. It has several of the common herbs I cook with and they started growing faster than I expected. I still want to wait a couple weeks before using the herbs so my plants can be a bit bigger. My daughter who is 4 enjoyed helping me plant the herbs and watching them grow too.
