Great indoor LED light for the garage!

I bought this fixture to add a little more light to a work area and it performed better than expected. It’s very bright and very a white light. It will make all your other bulbs look weak and dingy. The ability to aim the lights angle works alright but it is at its best shining straight down. I will be getting a couple more to swap in to locations wear cfl’s are now. I would advise against putting these in your house because they’re not the prettiest to look at and they’re way to bright.

More than expected!

Bought this to replace the single 60watt bulb in the center of our standard two car garage. Wow! What a difference. This light is super bright and has totally illuminated my garage. If there's a down side to this fixture, it's that now I can see just how dirty my garage is. Great product - thanks!

How many dads does it take to screw in an LED light bulb?

I had a set of 8 40w T8 florescent bulbs in my old garage, but my new one only had one dinky CFL. I like garage projects, for which adequate lighting is essential, so I was planning to hard wire a full set into the new garage (at a minimum 2-3x cost) until I found this while searching for LEDs for my home interior bulbs. I'm glad I found this. This LED set was as easy as screwing in a light bulb. Literally. You screw it in, turn it on, then scream in agony because you didn't think the LEDs would be so bright so you were staring straight at the them. You then adjust the leafs to aim the light where you need it and Bob is your uncle. Sometimes, the easiest solution is the best, even when you're a dad who loves to make every project more convoluted than it needs to be.

Nice & Bright, good lighting

I am glad I purchased this. It is a nice & bright light. With the 3 panels, you can aim where you want the light to be thrown. In my 2 car garage I currently have 4 4' LED fixtures I purchased to replace fluorescent ones. Those are nice & are placed around the 4 corners. This light is installed in the middle of my garage & greatly fills in the middle so now all of my garage / workshop is well lit, no dark spot in them middle anymore & don't have to worry about the lights warming up on cold days. So far, no complaints here!

The amateur car detailer's frenemy

After a frustrating experience doing a detail job on my car in my under-lit garage I went on the search for some replacement LED fixtures when I came across these super high output LED lights that go into a regular medium light bulb base. Installing them couldn't be easier since you just screw them in. They throw an insane amount of light that is comparable to the light output you get from very high powered halogen panels. Your typical ceiling mounted halogen or LED panel fixture might put out about 3000-4000 lumens depending on size. High end drop in panels run about $100 a pop. These things put out a crazy amount of light. So much so, that I immediately saw some scratches in the clearcoat of my car that I had missed when I was polishing it. Bittersweet indeed. If there is a downside to these things it is that they only have a rated lifespan of 5,000 or so hours. That's really not that great if you would have them on in an application where they were on 10 hours a day.... but they do have a two year replacement warranty, assuming you can get it honored. Since I only typically have the lights on in my garage for 30 minutes at a time, or a few hours on the weekend, I expect to get many years out of these and by the time they eventually fail I suspect a superior version will be available.

Excellent

Brand new home with a 3 car very over sized garage and 10' ceilings. The standard fixtures that had been installed were maybe for a small bedroom or something, never enough. These are more than adequate and the fins make them even more useful. Instead of having to have hanging fixtures for a workshop these simply give plenty of light. I wound up purchasing 3 and with their diode type design I recently purchased another small magnifying work lamp with the little diodes all around. Very well designed and all you do is either screw them into a normal bulb socket or in my case I had to change to a simple $1 light fixture and then screw these in. I only wish I'd found these years ago in other houses. Such an excellent design. J Lee

This light is fantastic

I had two shop lights hanging from the ceiling and there was never enough light in the 2 car garage. While looking for an additional light I spotted this one and decided to give it a try after reading the reviews (one of the reasons I love Amazon is reviews). It was so impressive that when my neighbor saw the garage he ordered one. Well worth the money, it is like daylight indoors.

directed bright light

This 80 watt LED adjustable light bulb really brightened up one end of my two car garage. I heat and cool my garage and use it as a man cave and also home for a Shelby GT500. I spend a lot of time detailing the Shelby and a bright light needed to adequately see what I am accomplishing has not been available until I installed this light. This LED light allows adjustability of the direction of the light and really brightens up a large area. I am very satisfied with this light.

Lotsa' light

I have had this light installed for a few days only but felt I had to review it. It replaced a dual tube fluorescent fixture so it consumes the same power as it's predecessor but puts out so much light that it illuminates the entire two car garage brightly. If you need a light that puts out much light but doesn't affect your electric bill - this is the one! Do not look directly at the light. p.s. I got the 80 watt version.
