Refurbished - worth the savings!

This is my first time buying a refurbished electronics item and I'm pleased I went this route and saved $100 compared to the price of buying a new one. The modem/router and all cords, etc. are in great condition (no scratches or appearance of previous use) and everything works perfectly. It came in plain box but had a user manual, which is all that was needed to get it set up.

NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 is a great speed booster on our network

I am very pleased with the NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 cable modem and Wi-Fi router. Installation was very easy for everything but my Nest outside camera. That is because I had to get a ladder and climb to the Nest camera to scan its square code to change Wi-Fi networks. (The Nest internal camera app was out of date and would not work with MacOS Catalina's required 64-bit applications. Shame on Nest/ Google.) I did the update with Comcast seamlessly, online, no call to tech support required. Throughput on my Wi-Fi network is now upwards of 64 Mb/sec (loaded), vs old speed of about 19 Mb/sec. Unloaded speeds have been about 90 Mb/sec on our advertised 100 Mb/sec service.

Awesome Gateway w/ VOIP

Great gateway w/ voip! I have xfinity/Comcast service and the modem activated with ease. No customer service support necessary, just connected the modem as instructed by manual. After 10 minutes or so of flashing lights the modem provisioned itself with internet and voice with no problem. I was a little skeptical due to reviews but always consider some don’t have experience or the knowledge of modems, voip service and networking. In conclusion, I would definitely purchase again if needed.

Easy installation. Did not have to call Comcast to activate

This gateway device was used to replace a rental unit from Comcast. The Installation was simple, just unplug the old and plug in the new. After it booted up and I logged into the wifi with computer I was greeted by a Comcast activation screen and was able to activate the new unit and deactivate the old unit online without having to call Comcast. After activation I changed the wifi name and password and was able to connect all my devices. Wired connections required rebooting the devices. Wifi signal is so much better than with the rental Comcast unit. When I went into my Xfinity account I found I could print out a UPS label to use to return the rental unit. The box from the Netgear device worked well for returning the rental unit.

Easy Set Up

had a little problem when first setting it up, when I first logged in to router, you have to change password... had to unplug the router a couple of times because my default password I use contains a couple of special characters that aren't allowed.. (which caused it to hang and couldn't get back in till I unplugged it) as soon as I changed the password it logged in to comcast/xfinity and asked for my user name and password.. took a couple of shots till I remembered the proper user name / password and it hooked up my internet and phone automatically... (less than 10 minutes) all that was left was to return the old modem... and chatted with comcast and they took 15 bucks off the bill I just recieved

Great replacement for xfinity supplied equipment

product arrived in 24 hours. I removed the xfinity modem an put this one in. The plug configuration is identical to the xfinity box so it was easy to put plugs back in. Powered it up, called xfinity tech support and they had it running in an hour . By owning the box I cut out the monthly rental fee for internet and voice equipment

I am so happy with this product!! once I receive it I hooked it up and I contacted my cable provider and it took about 2 hours and 38 minutes from me to get everything situated. I plug my ethernet cord from the modem directly into my work laptop this way I do not have to deal with the Wi-Fi signal. Everything else that I use it for is wonderful even my landline. I'm very thankful and I would recommend this product.

Just a fluke

This refurbished Item I had great hopes for but it was not transmitting WI- Fi ( so the Ixfinity tech) said. Try as we may. I think Netgears equiptment is high quality stuff and has good rating. I bought brand new one and have had no problems. Third party seller I bought refurbished one through was EXCELLENT to deal with in the midsts of all the craziness they were still good!

Awesome upgrade

Fast reliable internet, the initial setup was more difficult because it was refurbished, but netgear support got me squared away in no time. Would definitely purchase this modem again. So much better than the base model comcast provides to rent.
