  • Each of the drums are self expanding which means that when they are spinning they expand to keep the sleeve on the drum. This also helps create a sort of cushion when sanding so you don’t have to apply too much pressure when using them. When sliding a new grit sleeve on to the drum you can tighten or loosen the nut on the drum to expand or contract the drum for just the right fit.
  • You can use these drums with a drill press, but you can also use them on a hand drill or even a flexible shaft attached to a drill press. This gives you the ability to use these drums in a great variety of situations.
  • The drums have shank sizes ranging from the smallest diameter size at 1/8” to the largest shank diameter at 1/4”. The set includes 5 drums in the following sizes: 1-1/2” x 2-1/2”, 1” x 2-1/2”, 3/4“ x 2-1/2” and 1/2“ x 2-1/2”.
  • Each drum size comes with 2 each 80 grit sleeves and 2 each 120 grit sleeves for a total of 16 drum sanding sleeves. The set comes in a pre-formed plastic case to help keep the drums and sleeves organized and easily identifiable.

I bought this kit for an unusual jog that involved sanding PVC. I only used it once, but this seems to be well made and the sanding disks I used did not load at all. I will find other uses for these drums now that I have them.

Good solution for sanding rounde pieces.

This is a good, low cost alternative to an expensive drum sander. I am completely satisfied with the product.

Great product (even for pro's)

I own a woodworking business of 30 years in 2012. I have had kits like this before, but not with this many sleeves and drums. These are great for furniture restoration and custom building. I have had this kit for a while and we have used it many times in my shop. They work very well. The plastic case is also very nice to keep things organized. I would buy this again if the need arises. Recommend it.
