This is rated at ages 5+, and for the most part, I think that's appropriate. The steps often involve between one and three pieces at a time, which makes it very easy to see where things go. There was one step with a sticker in which the sticker is put on one face of a piece, then that piece is shown on the build on the other side, so a young kid might need help in visualizing that the piece is put on backwards. The very last sticker is put on a piece with an angled surface, and it's a little difficult in the instructions to see which direction to face the sticker because it's such a dark colored piece in the picture. Those are the only two steps that are even remotely challenging, IMO. The end product is pretty awesome, I think. It's a very cool looking racer, and it rolls great. The large tires give it good clearance, so you can roll it over furniture or whatever. The cabin also has a low roof, so the mini fig looks pretty slick inside with the helmet and visor. The whole thing is robust, as well. There aren't any parts of it that feel like that's fall off from a simple bump. It's just nice and sturdy and really good for racing around. The scorpion is a little odd, but also cool, as I've never seen a LEGO piece like it before. I also like the air intake for the engine as it's new to me, too. I don't usually get their City kits, but this one makes me want more of them. It's a simple build with a great end product.

I bought this LEGO car for my six year old cousin who lives abroad. He put it together in no time without my help. He takes it everywhere. Good inexpensive toy.

My five year loved it!

Great value. Easy, and simple. Rest addition kids will enjoy it. On a note LEGO has an app that is great some of the newer sets have digital instructions. I highly recommend this product and the app. You can keep track of all the sets on it as well.

It is a gift for a 7 year old lego fan.

This is a pretty neat set. It is small and it is a Rally Racer. I actually own a somewhat rally racer so my son thinks this is the coolest thing in the world. I actually own an older Subaru that I zoom around in the desert with. This is pretty easy to assemble. You can follow the instructions easily and anyone 6 or over should have a pretty quick time assembling the piece. Lego instructions are always easy to follow and this set is no exception. It is a great beginner piece and should start someone on their trip into the Lego city. My son has way to may sets now but I can not stop getting them. He gets one big set every Christmas and Birthday and has since he was seven. We throw in smaller sets throughout the year to keep his city growing. I figure by the time we are done his college will be paid for. This is a neat car. It moves freely, it looks great and you get a minifig. You are never going to go wrong with that The set is just the right thing if you need a quick build or if you are adding to your offroad adventure.
