Picky Cat Parent Choice of Litter

I am a pretty picky, neat freak parent to two cats. I am terrified of people walking into my home and smelling “cat.” I have tried multiple kinds of litter, and this is by far my favorite. I am very sensitive to scented products and the dust from most litters causes a slight rash and some itching. This litter does not bother me at all! It is very low dust, the lowest that I have personally been able to find in a clay-based litter. The scent is nice, it’s light and fresh and doesn’t have the “fresh, but still smells like cat litter” smell. It kind of reminds me of Bounce dryer sheets or a carpet refreshing vacuum powder. Fresh and clean, and nom chemical smelling. It does very well with odor control as well, with or without a deodorizing powder. While my cats are both kickers, and litter accumulates on the mat outside the litter box, there is minimal tracking throughout the rest of my home (except for the one and only time I bought the Lightweight Formula, and they tracked it everywhere). The scent does not linger for long, and it doesn’t cling to my fur-babies after they’ve made a trip into the box. It clumps well (especially with regular scooping, so it doesn’t get too built up in certain spots), so scooping and clean up are very easy with little mess. It is also very affordable for the size options and quality compared to other brands. I have tried other brands, including Arm&Hammer, Fresh Step, as well as some non-clay based litters, and this is by far my favorite, even out of all of the Tidy Cat litters. I have been consistently using it for around 3 years now, and have no intentions of switching anytime soon!

Great clumping litter

This works great. There is no smell from the catbox between cleanings, and the cat uses it with no problems. Very little dust it acts more like sand instead of powder like some of the cheaper versions. It clumps well and is easy to clean. The smell is very faint and even in the same room you just smell nothing instead of an overpowering perfume. Definitely great for the money and ships with prime.

Works superbly at eliminating much of the odors.

This clumping litter is something I have used for well over ten years and recently decided to buy online and have it delivered. This simply works great at absorbing much of the urine smell and poop smell. I have tried while in Asia, various Japanese brands and they didn't work as well as this. I always came back to this, even when abroad where this is much more expensive. Made in USA.

If your hesitent, Buy it!

I left a lengthy review on the Instant action version in this new Max line & how great it is, You can check it out, But wanted to write one to say I like this 24/7 version a notch even better!! Not sure how some others say this has to strong of a perfume smell because one of the reasons I like this one better is even though the instant isn't overpowering either, this one is even less so! Yet still manages to contol odors a tad fresher & has a bit more pleasant on demand light scent, then the the instant action version. These new Tidy Max are just so fantastic in every way a litter should be! Only minor complaint is it can track a bit more, but with a good mat & box setup you can control that, Tidy's litter textures are so much less back breaking to sift through too! Highly recommend this & can't see myself switching anytime soon finally one that lives up to it's claims & then some!

Great

This litter is fantastic. Paired with a covered litter box, and daily/every other day scooping there is no smell (1 cat household as well). Even when I am scooping the box there is no smell. Even though this is not the light weight stuff it is still easy to scoop through. It clumps really well! None of that clay/muddy crap that bad litters do. My cat uses/likes it just fine. I did not realize how nice this stuff was until I recently started volunteering at a cat shelter that uses something heavy and not smell proof. This stuff is so worth dragging it up 4 flights of stairs! Edit: Recently saw that the price nearly doubled since I purchased it from Amazon. If this ridiculous $34 price sticks I'll go back to buying it at Walmart for $7 per 20 pounds.

You know you're getting older when you write a kitty litter review...

I use Amazon for most of my household purchases because nothing beats just whipping out your phone when you run out of something, but I had to change a few of my go-to items to stuff Amazon carries. It took me quite a few tries to find a kitty litter that worked for us. This is now my monthly purchase. The biggest plus for me is the scent. I have two cats in a small, two bedroom apartment and it's very easy for the place to start smelling like litter box. This stuff has a nice scent, without being overwhelming. Some brands overload on a scent, and then when your cats curl up on you after using the litter box, they reek of overly sweet diaper smell. This litter doesn't do that. The bathroom their litter box is in slightly smells of the scent, but that's it. Plus, this litter is nice and chunky, so it doesn't fly up like a dust when they use it - I think that's why they don't get covered in the smell. And you can't really beat the price. Highly recommend!

Only cat liter I’ll ever purchase!

I’ve tried many others, but none compare to this one in several categories. I have one cat, and this litter is fabulous at controlling odor! I don’t need to use any additional odor controlling products along with the litter. While odor is the primary reason I subscribe, other reasons are clumpability, quantity needed, and easy clean up. I use sifter bags to make cleaning the litter box easier, and with other products, I’ve found they are either too light or don’t clump well so everything falls through the holes and defeats the purpose of using sifter liners, or they are too heavy and nothing sifts through so you have to add a significant amount more litter with each sift. By the time I get to the last liner, it’s time for a complete litter change which is once a week. I throw out any litter remaining purely for sanitary reasons, but, honestly, it’s not really necessary because what’s left is completely without cat urine or poop remnants, and it doesn’t smell. The remaining litter with a few cups of fresh litter could easily be poured into another weeks worth of liners without worrying that it will reek or lose any integrity.

We have an arrangement.

Thanks to Purina Tidy Cats Clumping Litter, my cats and I have a new arrangement. I buy the litter, they poop in the litter. I replace the litter, they poop in the replacement litter. This is vastly better than our old arrangement.

Clumps well, traps odor, price is good as any

For a 40 lb container of cat litter, this works as good as any. Normally, i would have used Dr Elsey's Precious Cat Ultra Premium Clumping Cat Litter, 40 pound bag , however the price was temporarily very high, so I just went with something else expecting similar results. Such was the case. Important points: - Low dust - Clumps well - Traps Odor - Scoops easily - Price is right. Cons? I can't really think of any at this time.

Cats love it and so does my nose

I was skeptical about this litter but my old holy grail Dr. Elsey's changed their formula so I had to try something new. This is surprisingly a really wonderful product. It isn't very dusty at all and clumps exceptionally well. There is no litter smell at all which I am very sensitive to. The cats love it, we have 3, and have faithfully used the litter box every time since we had to switch from the old HG litter, and we tried several brands (old lady cat started actively avoiding the litter box with other brands like arm and hammer and feline pine). 10/10 will continue purchasing!
