I had been looking for a bee suit for some time, and this one fits the bill! I ordered an XL, as I typically wear XL t-shirts. I likely could have ordered a large, possibly a medium as this XL can be pulled down to my knees (I’m 6’ tall). Initially I wanted a suit with a brim or hat built in, but I’m hindsight I would rather have one without the brim (when holding comb frames in front of me to look for eggs, the brim shades the frames and makes it a little more difficult to see eggs). Also, the nature of the built in hat makes it difficult to wash in a washing machine. Can’t be beat for the price!

Value buy

Bought as Halloween costume since I knew it would be higher quality for the same price range (as other “costumes” on amazon). I got the XL version and I am 6’3” tall and 210 lbs ~~ It’s plenty long enough. Arms are also more than enough in length. Solid purchase, even if you aren’t actually working with bees.

Budget friendly option for gentle hives!

I’ve been a beekeeper for several years and my old hood tore. This hood was in my budget and while it’s not the highest quality, it does the job. The hat doesn’t stay on very snug, so you just have to be aware of not letting the netting touch your face. The elastic around the waste and wrists is good and tight. The fabric is lightweight and comfortable. If you have an aggressive hive, this may not work for you. If you have just a few hives and they are relatively gentle, then this budget friendly hood/jacket definitely does the job.

This is perfect for what it is.

Let's face it, this is not the suit for you if you are a commercial bee keeper. It is thin and does not seem to be super rugged. It probably won't hold up to daily use. However, it is good for the backyard beek that gets into their hive once a week. It is perfect as a backup suit. It is perfect for a second suit for when you want to show someone around your hive(s). It is ideal for keeping in the car with your nuc to catch those swarms. My wife does the bulk of the beekeeping chores, so I didn't want to spend $100+ on a second suit for me. For $20, this is exactly what I needed. I'm going to get two more for each of the kids. I'm 6'2" and 230lbs. XL was loose on me which is what I wanted.

Good bang for the buck.

Nice. I put it on like a sweater; its lightweight and not too hot. I did not use the zipper and don't see a need to ever use the zipper. The fabric is lightweight but appears strong enough to prevent a sting. My bees seemed to almost ignore me completely when using this bee suit. Previously I had not been using a bee suit, either nothing or glasses and a hoodie, but this was obviously a lot more comfortable and cooler. I've only used it the one time, but so far I'm very pleased. Good bang for the buck.

Bee-lievable Halloween costume

I used this as a kid-friendly Halloween costume at work and people loved it. I sewed bees to the outside to really make it look like a bee-lievable costume

Very Pleased

My wife is a beekeeper and needs my help from time to time. Guess I'm the sous-beekeeper. She got this for me and I've already worn it for more than two hours. No bites and no close calls. I like the bonnet more than the one in her bee suit as I can see much better. I tuck it into my jeans, although you wouldn't need to as the elasticized bottom would keep you safe. Overall, I'm very pleased.

Great quality at a tattered rags price!

Whoa! These sell for $50 at my closest chain farm store. I usually prefer to buy my bee stuff from my local farm co-op or beethinking but my hood crapped out on a month when money was tight and here we are. I kind of assumed that for the price this would be disposable, but the quality is actually really good! The hood zips off the top; the mesh is sturdy and easy to see through; the sizing is accurate! I'm super pleased. Five stars for way exceeding my expectations.

They stung the crap out of my hands even though I had on ...

Had to cut down a tree with a LARGE bee nest. Man, were they mad. Anyone within 150' got stung. They stung the crap out of my hands even though I had on thick leather gloves. But they didn't get through this thin bee suit. I think it has to do with the tight weave the material is made from. The gloves were thick leather but soft enough for them to get through. My bluejeans held up well and nothing got under the waist due to the elastic band. I did get hit on the face through the mesh but only when I let it get up against my skin. Wear a hat underneath the hood to keep it away from your face and your good to go. And, I managed to relocate the big limb that had the bulk of the hive it in. Months later they are still there and the hive is doing well.

Nice and big & very lightweight

Nice and big & very lightweight. Now I don't know how well this would do with aggressive bees, mine are pretty docile so I only need this when I'm in the hive for a long time and they start to get agitated and start telling me to leave. This top is good to keep the bees from getting to your head or in the folds of a your shirt. I'm not a super big guy but I am 6' and slim, the sleeves are plenty long and the hat is not tight. It feels like putting on an oversized sweatshirt but one made of lightweight yet stiff fabric. I imagine someone around 250# would be comfortable in it. The hood has a zipper to open but does not come off completely. The bottom and the cuffs have elastic to keep everything out that is not trying too hard to get in. This is not a wear it every day quality, it's a wear it a few times a season for a couple hours quality. But if you are not rough with it and take care it should last several years. I gave it five stars because I am judging the quality by the price paid and in that it is a good value.
