The installation instructions are reasonable and they include a link to a video. Couple things to keep in mind: - This is a 2-pack of screen protectors. They arrived semi-stuck together so I didn't notice there were two of them until I was trying to peel off the inside plastic and I had to abort and start over. - The inside plastic is adhered strongly to the screen protector. But if you pull too hard, you'll bend/kink the screen protector and then it's essentially ruined (you'll have a ridge that you can't scrape away). Pull slowly, smoothly, and evenly. - The provided scraper card is not very firm and it won't work for small bubbles. Use a harder card like a credit card instead. Once installed, it has a nice anti-glare sheen, and feels very nice to use with the Apple pencil.

I was initially skeptical of a screen protector that was installed using stickers and rubber bands. It sounded like something MacGyver would come up with. However, the protector is by far the best one I have ever used. A little background on the installation. The protector was installed on a new 12.9-inch 3rd gen iPad Pro straight out of the box, so I did not need to worry too much about cleaning the screen. That definitely made a difference. I was also careful not to lean over the iPad while I was working to help keep dust to a minimum. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and the protector went on without any real difficulty. There were a bunch of bubbles, but with the tool provided in the package I was able to carefully work them out. I had to be persistent, but I was able to get all the bubbles out. The iPad works great with the protector. I have had no problems whatsoever with the Face ID function and the screen is very responsive. In fact I literally can’t tell that I have a screen protector on my iPad. I have my iPad in a Logitech Slim Folio Pro keyboard case and was concerned that the case edge would peel the protector up, but I was able to install the the case over it without any problem. I really cannot recommend this screen protector enough. If you take a little time and effort in the installation, you will be rewarded with a screen protector that is invisible and does not interfere with the device at all.

This is the updated screen protector with a wider cutout for FaceID..now it works!! I bought this anti-glare version because it makes the glass/pencil contact point less slippery..great for illustration. Installation went smoothly. iCarez provides the right things to get the job done. Use all of it, but be really careful and slow when aligning and installing. Most importantly, like with any screen protector, the iPad glass screen needs to be flawless or you will have permanent bubbles..even one minuscule particle of dust or lint will cause a problem.

I saw the reviews of the Face ID not working, but took the chance because I had been using iCarez matte screen protectors on my previous iPad for drawing for years and knew I couldn't live without it. Before attaching the screen protector, I used the rubber bands to hold it on the iPad and then tested Face ID. I made sure that it would work beforehand and didn't have any issues. Fluke or not, I think it's best to test it out this way and move it around if you need to before adhering it. As expected, the included accessories to help with placement allowed me to install the protector without any bubbles. The slight texture creates just the right amount of resistance for drawing with the Pencil giving me a lot more control over my lines.

The screen protector feels great with the Apple Pencil 2 but Face ID does not work be it covers the 3 sensors. Lol I had to cut mine. NOVEMBER 26th Update: I originally gave it 1 star due to the product was practically useless (Face ID). But Icarez fixed the problem, as their courtesy, they sent me free replacement of the screen protect that fixed the Face ID problem. Without ASKING!! I was surprised o.o of their customer service. Super thoughtfull, thumbs up for Icarez!!! Other company should have customer service like this. Dont sell us trash and expect us to suck it up!

The issues with Face ID that were brought up by others in previous reviews have now been completely solved. This “(Updated Version)” is definately safe to buy and you can feel confident that you will not run into any compatibility issues with the 2018 12.9” iPad Pro. I use the iPad Pro primarily for digital art and I prefer the natural feel and tactile feedback you get with a matte screen protector compared to smooth glass. I also owned the 1st and 2nd generation iPad Pro and I’ve gone through a variety of matte screen protectors from other brands found on amazon. The iCarez matte screen protector stacks up well against the ones I’ve tried in the past from Tech Armor and Super Shields. I found iCares to be the most premium in terms of the whole package/presentation which includes a very nice quality micro fiber cloth (unlike the little cheap ones that come with most other brands) as well as other extras that help a lot with prep and installation. The installation process was especially nice compared to others and provided for a far more precise placement and alignment. This matte protector also has a bit more texture or “tooth” compared to the other two brands I mentioned previously. While I think that does makes for even better control and feel with the Apple Pencil, there is a trade off as slightly more texture = slightly more noise when it comes to picture quality. Overall I am very happy with this product and I would feel confident recommending it and/or ordering it again. Hopefully this review was helpful to anyone worried about Face ID or wanting to know more about the drawing/writing experience when used with Apple Pencil.

UPDATE: Got my replacement today and the design is flawless now. Installation was a breeze and the texture is just perfect to draw and write notes with the Apple Pencil. I also love the sound it makes when you use the pencil, I used this exact same screen protector on my previous iPad Pro. and the rainbow effect some people have goes away after some time. Old Review with the wrong cutout. So I was skeptical when I got it since the small space that is not covering the screen barely has space for the camera, the mic and one of the 3 sensors that are used for Face ID. so after the installation I couldn't get pass the Face ID part. and had to go and continue the setup with a regular password.

The iCarez matte protectors are a great solution for adding friction to the screen of iPads and making the writing experience with the Apple pen so much better. I use both Microsoft Surface products and iPads to do a lot of writing and making engineering drawings using a pen on the touch screen. Although both are slippery, the iPad is particularly slick. For me, a little friction greatly improves detail drawing, control, and general feel of the pen. We've used them on our iPad Pros and Surface Pro 4s for a few years now (there are 2 of us, both with iPads and Surface products who write and draw electronically a lot, and I've put them on others' products). iCarez has very helpful videos and comes with tools and stickers to help with application. They take some skill to get on bubble free. The larger the screen the harder it's going to be. There are three types of bubbles you get with these types of screen protectors: 1. Pure air bubbles. These are no big deal. The pusher that iCarez includes works very well. So does a credit card wrapped with lint free cloth. Very easy to deal with. 2. Dust air bubbles. These are bubbles caused by dust. These are extremely annoying, do not try to force these out, it won't work, you need to remove the dust. 3. Damage bubbles. If you aren't gentle, bend the protector a bit too much, or apply pressure with something too hard (fingernail or credit card edge (wrap with it lint free cloth to help prevent this) then you can get a minuscule crease that will cause a bubble that can't be fixed. Here's how I remove dust bubbles: For small screens, they aren't bad at all to fix -- iCarez has videos on how to remove them. For larger screen, it WILL be a big time consuming pain. But you CAN get rid of all them. Best to do everything you can to make a dust free environment to start. But for mere mortals like me, it is inevitable that there will be at least some dust bubbles when you first apply it. I use the included stickers or scotch tape on the end of the slick cardstock (that holds the various stickers) to make a long holder for the piece of tape. Then use a lifting sticker or tape on the edge of the protector to peel it slowly and gently back off, slipping my long tool under the protector and reaching as far in as needed. Start from the center out. Don't lift the protector any more than is needed (or more dust will get in). Be very patient, slow, and methodical, and you CAN get them all out. Patience is key. You don't have to fix them all right away. If you get frustrated, stop and try again later. As long as you don't damage the protector, it's very forgiving and can be peeled off again and again (don't peel it off completely if the alignment is good, just enough to get to the dust). About damage bubbles: If your bubble won't move with a slow gentle push and consists of two little half moons you might have a damage bubble. Don't try to move it anymore. It does get a little better over time (you can rub gently in circles on top of it to flatten as much as possible), and it may or may not flatten fully over time and disappear. No fix for these, sorry, so if time doesn't heal it and it bothers you, you'll need to get another protector and try again.

Obviously From the pictures I provided there is no more issue with Face ID not working!!! Been using ICarez produts couple years now never had any issues with produts from them ever. Very easy to install on iPhone or IPad with there system. Just take your time and follow the directions and you will have a perfect fit. As for some of the reviews saying it covers the camera so Face ID doesn’t work. ICarez must have fixed that issue as you can see in photos it’s not even close to covering camera. Face ID has worked for me from the very start. What ever material They use on this matte finish cover is always been perfect paper like feeling for drawing. Thanks, ICarez

I just upgraded from my small first gen iPad Pro to the largest & most current model, so I picked up a new set of the iCarez screen protectors (because that's what I installed on my first one), this time in the matte finish. Just like the first ones I installed (plural, because I borked the first attempt), the order of the numbered instructions were nonsensical, but just follow the video they recommend and you'll be golden! The matte texture is GREAT, way better than the first ones I got a few years ago, and comparable to Paperlike, IMO. I'm an artist and the sole purpose of this screen protector is to have a bit of a tooth so that it feels more like paper when I use the Pencil. Especially for the money, these screen protectors are the best option. It's great that they include two of them! (If you're like me, you won't even notice that there are two separate ones, and you'll accidentally try to install both at the same time!)
