I have wired cameras all around the outside of our home but I wanted more cams. Maybe I am addicted. We purchased 3 Ring Floodlight cams. We did not install them immediately because I was still unsure of having wi-fi cams when my wired cams are so clear and quick and efficient. After weeks of debate after they arrived we installed 2 of the Floodlight cams. I love it totally and completely. My neighbor is now afraid and stays clear. One day he was out back on his cell phone and said I have to find a new place I just have to get out of here. So glad they are intimidating any would be problem persons. Now we buy the stick up cam. Because we already had the app and other Ring cams installation of software and sync were seamlessly fast, just a a minute actually. I have used the cam all over the house. I hide it discreetly in the living room when I leave and i have tied it to our candelabra in the kitchen and so far no one in the household has seen the cam or knows where it is. I love to be able to watch what is going on in the house when I am home and away. I want to buy more of these cams. Coming from someone who has top of the line wired cams, these Ring cams are top notch. Don't waste money buying other brands or cheaper brands, this is the best for wi-fi and there are some back cams out there. These cameras a quick and they are precise in the video they give. The night vision is clear. I have no issues with the cams whatsoever. I would however like to see the software be a bit faster when you click to view but I believe that now that Ring is owned by Amazon the software will eventually update to a faster service for viewing. Do not hesitate. Protect your home and belongings.

1st battery operated camera I ordered had issues, so I had to send it back. I currently now have two battery operated and one wired RING "stick up" cameras which are working great. The mounting angle will determine how good the motion detection is. It takes a little time to get these cameras in the right spot and at the right angle but once you do they seem to work great. When testing your cameras, make sure that you use the sensitivity and distance settings in the app to help you dial your cameras in. If you have a good Wi-Fi router you should have no problems. I am on a large lot and these cameras connect with no issues on the 2.4 Ghz band, which is the only band that these cameras will run on. The 2.4 GHz band reaches out further in distance than 5 Ghz anyway. Depending on the speed of your ISP connection, you should have plenty of bandwidth to run these cameras with ease. If you have Wi-Fi that runs both 2.4 and 5 GHz band simultaneously, make sure they both have the same password. Then you will be able to run your app and cameras on your phone or tablet no matter what band your phone or tablet is connected to. The batteries seem to discharge at a rate of about 1-2% a day. So far I am very happy with these cameras. I am still within my 30 day test period and if anything changes, I will update my review.

We have coyotes roaming in the area; advised to not leave pets outside. Our small dog loves to go on the side of the house. We bought the Ring Stick Up Cam with battery to be able to watch over him when he is out there. It is mounted on the fence post and used a wifi connection. We bought an extra battery, but this is still at full charge one week later. Attached are both night and day photos to show what the view is. At night, even with no light on the side, we still get a clear, detailed view in black & white. During the day, the camera detail is exquisite. The two-way talk is fantastic. Our dog was out there one night for some time, and the rain was about to start. From the Ring app, I told him to come in. Startled, he looked around, didn't see me but came in immediately. The voice was so clear that he thought I was there.

I own and have used a few security cameras. This one is my favorite. I have found the ring stick up camera easy to use, great quality pictures and videos. And the siren was loud and clear enough to make me jump even when I was expecting it. The accompanying app is user friendly. I now have both a ring 2 doorbell and a stick up cam. Will be getting more. I recommend to anyone who is looking for a great security camera.

So far so bad :( I have a lot of Ring cameras and technical expertise.... this camera has been offline more than online... and it has a fantastic wifi signal at its location.... not sure what is going on.... hopefully support can debug remote.... only fix for it is to remove battery and put battery back in... it goes offline (i.e. no live video) every 6 hours.... until I reset the battery.... I’ll update review when/if support can fix.... not sure this version “one” was tested very well. EDIT: Ring support contacted me and is sending a replacement battery camera. I’ll update the review once I receive the replacement. EDIT 2: Received the replacement battery camera and it’s working as intended.. I’ll change my review to 5 stars due to Ring support being very responsive, professional, and courteous. The camera seems to be working as intended—- hoping it stays that way! :)

Original review below, until Ring Tech support reached out to me after reading my 1 star review UPDATE: Within a day of writing the below review, i was contacted by Ring Customer service. They helped me with diagnostics on my device issues. After several days back and forth emails and calls with different tests, they determined my devices were faulty, or the software on them was out of date. They immediately sent me replacements and walked me through the setup and software updates. The unit worked great and the representative followed up every few days to help work out any kinks. They continued to reach out every few weeks to be sure that everything was still working well. I cant tell you how great they were. They really care and want to make sure their products work and their customers are happy. Most companies would give up after several emails but they didnt. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Have installed many Ring products for myself and customers over the years and the new stick up cam isn't worth the money. After an hour on the phone with tech support it still doesn't work correctly. I Cant adjust the distance and sensitivity. Ring said its probably a bad wifi connection and i bought and tried the ring pro chime booster and even set up the camera in the same room as my router and the same certain features wouldn't work so it obviously wasnt the wifi connection. Returning everything. very disappointed

Update 23 December, 2018: The Ring team contacted me within hours of my review to diagnose the hinge issue. I received a replacement unit and it's like night and day—the hinge on my original unit must have had a manufacturing defect, as the replacement camera feels like it's of better quality. It took me 10 minutes to mount the camera outside, and it now works flawlessly. Highly recommended! --- Original headline: Weak construction; broke before I could use the camera Original review: One of the mounting hinges snapped off before I could even use the camera. The design of this camera allows you to mount it to a wall, tabletop, or ceiling with an adjustable hinge, but the hinge snapped immediately when I tried to adjust it. This might just be a defect or a hinge that was too tight; ordering a replacement now.

This is my fourth Ring camera, but my first Stick Up Camera. I love the portability of the battery version. I have used it outside in a tree to monitor Christmas Decorations and this view is in my attic. I call it "mouse cam" to let me know if I need to check a mouse trap! This part of the attic is completely dark, but still shows up great! The battery seems easy enough to charge and the hassle is well worth the added portability benefits! I have the annual Protection Plus Plan, so adding an additional camera didn't increase my subscription cost. Setup took less than 5 minutes and I was online monitoring! I like the black camera since the white cameras have a big black section in them anyways for the lenses and sensors. The black cameras are more discreate overall.

I recently purchased the Ring Stick Up Cam Battery. During the installation, I broke the camera's mounting base. I called Ring's customer service and explained my problem, and "Kevin" said he would get the replacement parts I needed in the mail to me. I told him the broken mounting base was all my fault, and I would be glad to pay for the parts. He said it was not a problem. The parts were under warranty. A few days later I received the replacement parts, and now my new Stick Up Cam is installed and working great. I now own a Ring Doorbell, a Ring Alarm System and a Ring Stick Up Cam Battery. They all work great! Great products and great customer service!

Love Ring gear! This was so easy to install and configure , and completely achieved its goal. I’ve ordered the alarm version with solar panel, and I have the wireless doorbell. Good customer service. Update: New cam with solar panel up and running. Have it on Live View and the battery is at 100% Love the klaxon and flood lights.
