Why is it the best in my opinion? Two reasons, I'm talking about the 2 TB only because if they made a 3 or 4 TB version I would have bought two of those instead. These are hybrid drives, that's the first reason and two is the price. I also had one in my previous build, it still works perfectly. I used to be a Western Digital fan when it came to mechanical harddrives but when I first discovered the Firecuda I had to try it out and I have been happy with the product. I use a Samsung 860 EVO SSD for a system drive but the Firecuda is my go to drive for games. SSD drives aren't really necessary for gaming, but they make excellent system drives.

Great value for a reliable product

I got this as an addition to my Acer Aspire E15, which comes standard with an SSD. I was skeptical about adding a HDD because I've gotten so used to SSD performance, but I have no complaints.

More storage and it is quick? Sign me up!

So, I purchased this for my Predator Helios 300 to replace the glacially slow 1TB 5400 RPM drive that was in it. It is night and day. Now, for Windows and some games I use the SSD, but it is kinda small for huge games like Doom. So, I put those games on the mechanical drive. On my old drive the game took several minutes to load up, that time has been cut significantly with this much faster drive. Add to that the fact that I doubled the space, and saying I'm satisfied is an understatement. More games AND they load faster? This is the best.

Worth the Price

This thing has great value considering it’s a solid state drive. Installing it to my laptop was very easy. The hardest part was following a YouTube video of my laptop model to dissasemble it correctly and replace the part. I don’t recommend paying for the installation because you could do it faster and safer yourself. I’ve had some friends send in broken laptops and they came back with more problems. Just make sure you reinstall windows or iOS onto it before it can start working correctly. My old hard drive stopped working and it was making weird scratching noises so I wanted an SSD for more reliable storage that didn’t use a disk.

Super fast loading, perfect hybrid HDD/SDD

I installed the firecuda in my ps4pro, it was easy and perfect for making my ps4pro super fast now!!! With it being a hybrid SSHD!!!it's an amazing upgrade. And by super fast, I MEAN very very fast!!!! Thank you so so much!!! VERY MUCH WORTH my money!!! I have 2. One internally and the other externally. My ps4pro is basically a ps4.5!!! This will definitely hold me over until playstation 5 releases

Best performance, storage and value for PS4

I bought the Firecuda for my PS4 as my previous HDD was starting to flounder. At first you won't notice the performance increase until the drive has "learned" which assets you use the most and then the performance will be noticeably better. I play Destiny 2 a lot and I am loading into activities 20-30 seconds faster than my teammates. This is probably the best value for a storage solution that has performance comparable to a SSD. Excellent upgrade for PS4

I recently upgraded my 500gb PS4 drive to this. The drive installed easily, formatted correctly, and has been performing well since. Load times in the games are similar and some times a little quicker than the original drive. Formatted capacity was very close to 2TB. I think this would also work extremely well in a gaming laptop if you wanted to keep a lot of games on local storage. A PC would probably be better at taking advantage of the sold state cache on this drive.

Quite happy with drive.

15 year old grandson complained about the speed of his PS4., the old drive was getting too full. This drive is double the size and is quite speedy due to the onboard memory. He seemed to have no trouble installing it.
