I did hours of research on indoor bug zappers nearly all results online were promotional. Search for how they work. Its not so much about watts its about volts. Do you want to know how bright the bulb is or the volts on the electrified grid that kill the flying insects? Most devices only tell you watts. 20 or 40 irrelevant. The ones that give you volt data are tops 'as seen on tv' 2800v. This one is 4000v top of the line and quiet. this one no tube bulbs to burn out has LED low wattage line of 20 christmas like uv LED bulbs 10 on each side instead. Additionally a reflective rectangular uv surface bordering the electrified double sided grid. Well made costs more but no worries on bulb replacement. Works excellent on those large flies that target your face and ears. The days are over chasing flies down with zap raquets. Great product. Consider it. UPDATE- yes i bought a second unit to fully cover my house. Here is what I noticed- The mosquitos and small flying insects are zapped dead upon impact and drop to the tray. Large flies also get zapped and die upon impact but some are resilient even at 4000 volts if zapped only once and bounce may escape the housing and get out but they are terminal and will crash not too far unable to fly soon die. so there it is. I hope this helps. no regrets thank you

This item works great, just as described. Only problem is all the dead bugs lol. Not a bad problem in my opinion lol

Kills bugs. Even did in a hornet. Low power consumption(12 watts).

I was trying to find a bug zapper that had LED lighting instead of florescent bulbs. I have sworn off florescent bulbs because they are outdated, expensive and have a very limited live span. I have had this item in use for several months an it works very well! I would recommend this to anyone... this is a high quality item. Update: I like this so much that I purchased a second one!

Worth the money, large surface area for attracting bugs
