Good hub with nice selection of ports
When it comes to dealing with the newer generation of MacBook Pros, one can never have enough USB-C hubs. Most of the time, my collection of hubs share most things I used daily while there are hubs that I'll bring for specific needs. I was on a trip where I needed to connect to a monitor, run multiple portable hard drives, and need to configure a few brand new routers. In this case, I'm glad that I brought the UtechSmart hub with me because it has the HDMI, PD port, and ethernet included. The PD port was supplying enough power for the drives to run without stopping. The size of the hub is quite small and the build quality is quite good. The aluminum shell does help to dissipate heat. It doesn't get hot, only warm to the touch at its peak. Also, no wireless interference from this hub for me. On Mac OS, it is possible to check to check the wattage of the hub by going to system information -> Hardware -> Power -> AC charger information, where it'll display 60w (btw if you have the newer 15" MBP don't use the top left thunderbolt port - it'll provide a much larger (inaccurate) reading compare to the other three ports). I was a bit skeptical if 60w would have enough power instead of connecting directly to the original Apple 87w adaptor. I'm happy to report that after using the hub as a relay, it has enough power for light to moderate tasks without hitting the battery. The battery remained the same amount the cycle after using it continuously for three days. Although for more intensive processing, I would definitely connect the power adapter directly to the laptop. For the 12 inch MacBook or the 13 inch MacBook Pro, using it as power relay should work nicely.

Great USB-C adapter for new MacBook Pro
I've had to wait to review this as I got it but was waiting on my new computer (a late 2018 MacBook Pro). It finally came in and I've been using it for about 3 weeks now so I can finally offer an informed review. The short version is: It's great! It's extremely well made with aluminum that is a dead-on match for the dark gray MacBook, and the cable is thick. This is not a cheaply made unit. It plugs in using one USB-C port, and offers you three USB-A 3.0 ports, along with a HDMI port. There's also a very hand USB-C port directly above the cable on the skinny end of the adapter, so if you are one of those poor souls who have only 1 USB-C port then you can charge your device while using this adapter. For me that's going to be a seldom-used feature but I appreciate that it's there. I cannot speak to technical speeds or anything like that other than to say it's fine- I've used it for flash drives and hard drives and it all works great. Full disclosure: This company contacted me due to the number of reviews I've written on Amazon and offered me this adapter at a discount in exchange for an honest review. This in no way influences my opinion and if it was just ok or complete crap, I'd tell you as much. My reputation isn't worth a $25 adapter. But, I'm happy to report it's awesome and I'd buy this again in a heartbeat. 5 stars.

Mac-Fail Bandaid
If you are like most of America and bought a Mac in the last year or so, you probably discovered that they cleverly removed all of the necessary ports, packaging them into a fun, not included dongle that you have to buy. This product is basically that dongle, but at not-Apple prices! It's supposedly the same gray that Apple uses, and it feels solid for a dongle. It's not cheap plastic, it's a light-weight metal. Fortunately no one in my family owns Mac products, I actually wanted to use this for my Android phone to bulk-transfer pictures to and from external drives for safe keeping. This seemed like the faster solution to beaming, emailing, removing SIM cards, what have you. Unfortunately, this did NOT work on my LG G6 (Slimport does not work with this phone error). You'll notice that I still gave it 5 stars though, and here's why... Every year at the holidays my siblings bring their external hard drives together and we do a mass data share of recipes, memes, pictures and videos that we took over the year. We don't live near each other, so this is our time to basically vomit all of the fun stories we had from the last year. Facebook and phone just sometimes don't do this stuff justice. Anyway. We plugged this bad boy into an HP laptop and then plugged 3 externals into the USB ports, plus one more into the computer itself. Normally what would take several hours to transfer between the drives took an hour or less (we just walk away, so I didn't time it). Huzzah USB 3.0! The dongle didn't even get get hot, even though the data transfer was crazy. I did not try the HDMI or Ethernet ports, but they seem incredibly useful for meetings where you might need to present on a TV or in corner conference rooms where the WiFi sucks. It's supposedly up to 4k so if you don't have a SmartTV and are using your laptop to stream Blue Planet, you'll be getting the maximum quality that your TV supports. I also didn't try using this as a pass through for power, I just plugged it directly into a Windows laptop to use the extra ports.

Essential for Newer Laptops ~
Well design product, build quality is premium. Very sturdy structure though out. It offers 3 additional USB 3.0 Ports on one side, 1 HDMI (support UHD) on the other side. Top and bottom have additional USB C for charging and Ethernet port. It doesn't get hot with multiple devices all plugging in at same time. Definitely worth the cost. Recommended !!!

Small and effective USB C
*If this review has helped you in any way, please click "helpful". You're awesome! First impressions The packaging. Simple to open, unpackage and the product is plug & play. The intention of the hub is to have an external "cable setup" so that wires aren't all attached to your computer. Rather, the hub allows you to have flexibility and consolidate the connections a little bit away from your computer, TV, etc. Pros 1. Mac's are being built lighter, faster but without the attachments and plug ins that make connecting with hardware practical. This hub allows you to connect manually, and I love that. 2. Small and compact hub. Only about 6 inches long and about 1.5 inches wide, the device can fit in your pocket, pouch, carry-on, or any place really. It hardly weighs anything too. 3. Looks nice. Has a smooth silver finish, looks professional and will compliment a business atmosphere and image. Cons The cord is a bit small, about 4" or so, but because there's plenty of room for my USB devices and HDMI, it's not a big deal. Other than that, this thing is spot on. If you're looking for a C-Hub for your Macbook that looks nice, performs well, stays cool and has plenty of connection options, then this is a good choice.

Great bang for your buck!
This is one of those products that you don’t know you need till you get it. I ordered this because my husband (total techie, me no clue) said we needed one. I thought it looked like the best quality for the price, so I purchased it. Wow! It is so handy. My husband uses it every day. I see he has a bunch of things plugged into it. He says he’s shocked that with all of the stuff he has plugged into it, it does not get hot like a different one he used at work. It is not cheap plastic, it’s not too heavy but it has some weight to it so you feel like it’s a quality item. My son keeps trying to steal it from my husband so I’m going to have to order another one! Every time I purchase something online, I always check the reviews. I count on others to help me choose the best option. My reviews are always my honest opinion and I try to include photos if possible. If my review has helped you in any way, please click the "helpful" button below so that I know! If you have any questions feel free to ask! Thank you!

Lightweight, Sturdy, and Connects all my Peripherals while Charging my Macbook Pro!
I travel quite a bit with my MacBook Pro, and the downside to the newer MacBook Pros with the USB-C port is the lack of other ports! While I’m sure it’s great because it decreases the size and weight of the laptop itself, it doesn’t allow for other ports which I actually use. It becomes necessary to find a hub/dongle set so you can connect peripherals. I purchased the USB C Hub, UtechSmart 6 in 1 USB C Adapter and found it allows me to plug in all my other devices. I has an HDMI port for connecting to a large monitor or TV, 3 USB 3.0 ports to connect to my camera and scanner, and also allows me to connect to my company network via the Gigabit Ethernet port. I can do this all while keeping power to the laptop by connecting my Macbook Pro’s USB-C power adapter to the USB-C input on the hub. While I’ve not had any issues with the UtechSmart 6 in 1 USB C Adapter, it really has freed me from having to worry about connectivity whether I’m at work or at home. The adapter is nice looking, it’s sturdy because it’s made of metal, and is easy to travel with because it’s not too big or heavy. I simply throw it into my bag with the MacBook Pro’s power adapter and I can connect at work, while traveling, or into my desktop with all peripherals at home. Since I already have an extra power adapter that stays in my travel bag, I just may purchase another UtechSmart 6 in 1 adapter to stay in my bag while this one stays ready and connected at home!

All-in-One USB-C adapter/dock. Works well in Linux and Windows10, plus Samsung Phone
This adapter packs a lot of features into a small 12cm device, and is perfectly usable as a portable "mini-Dock". Linux? Windows 10? Android? Yes! The design is a sleek metal case, seamless, with no visible screws. Slender, with no parts to lose, takes up very little space in the bag -- about as much as two Sharpie pens. It has a captive 6-inch cable with USB-C, and connections for USB-C PD, HDMI, Ethernet, and three USB 3.0 (blue) sockets. Inside is a USB Hub, Ethernet Adapter, and HDMI display (&audio) output. The HDMI output is driven by your computer's internal graphics adapter, so the second monitor is integrated into both Windows and Linux with no additional drivers. I believe it's done with a Via Labs VL100 "Billboard" Display Alternate mode adapter for USB-C, so it adds a second Monitor/Display instance, but not a new Display Adapter. The USB xHCI hub (VIA Labs 2109:0817 VL812 Super Speed Hub) appears on the bus, and this provides the three open USB ports as well as the new Ethernet Controller. It's a Realtek USB GbE Family Controller: VID: 0bda and PID: 8153. Drivers were automatically available in both Ubuntu Linux and Windows 10. It linked up to a 1Gb Ethernet as normal, no prompts or settings needed. For the adventurous, this UtechSmart device also works with the Samsung Galaxy S9+, and surprisingly well! Plug a USB Thumbdrive into the ports and it appears as a Storage Device, perfect for copying pictures off the phone. The Ethernet works as well, and automatically gets a DHCP address and switches over to wired connection. The HDMI monitor shows a clone of the Galaxy S9+ screen in perfect detail. Best to rotate the phone to horizontal to make the most of the monitor. (Sorry, no Samsung Dex environment here, but a USB Mouse and Keyboard work just fine.) Powering the adapter also charges the phone, as expected, but not as fast as a direct connection. I was more impressed that the phone happily powered the whole adapter, with HDMI, Ethernet, and USB from its own battery, no problem. I was going to poke fun at the whole Phone + Adapter + Monitor, Ethernet, USB Drive, Keyboard, Mouse, but now that it's been running for a while on my desk, I'm imagining it could be useful if you intend to be at your phone for hours, hammering out email or Amazon reviews. All in all, this is a really nice piece of kit to have in your travel bag, or as a single-connection desktop dock. It has replaced my USB-On-The-Go (OTG) adapters, as those were always a bit sketchy with some USB devices, and prevented charging.. Even if I don't need all the features, it's small enough on the bag that it's replaced a number of other adapters already. I accepted an offer to test and review this device, and received it for free, but this is my honest and unbiased review. Pictures are my own.

A way to get must-have ports on a Mac
Ever since I got the new style of MacBook Pro I've been looking for the perfect dongle. It's a running joke that Mac users carry a bag full of dongles, and unfortunately there's some truth to it - in my backpack I have a pouch with 2x USB-A to C adapters and a USB-C to HDMI adapter. If you're looking for a solid way to simplify things you've found it. Admittedly I'd never bought a USB-C to ethernet adapter, but I had one for my older MacBook because it's good to have from time to time. This one works quite well in that regard - I'm getting gigabit speeds. I attached a speed test showing over 900 up, but my Mac shows a 1000 tx rate in network settings. The USB ports work as expected for USB 3.0. I put an image of the system report, but's showing a 5 GB speed and the transfer speeds seem to reflect that. 3 ports is a pretty generous amount - I'd almost consider a smaller adapter with 2, but if your complaint is too many USB ports that's a good sign. Unfortunately the world is not ready to live without USB type A, and this adapter has a lot of it. The HDMI adapter is 4k 30hz, and that's the best you're going to get on a multipart dongle. I've done my research looking for this exact adapter with 4k 60hz and while I've found a few that claim it, it's always 4k 30hz. If you want 60hz you need to get a stand-alone USB-C to HDMI adapter with no other ports (like the one I mentioned above). I put a photo of my Mac recognizing my 4k TV's resolution (3480x2160). The power delivery works - it charged my 15" Macbook successfully. It has 60w power delivery, so depending on your computer that may be slower than what you're used to. The 15 inch MacBook charger is 85w, but it also has 4 ports available so the power delivery isn't particularly necessary. For the 13 inch Macs with 2 ports the charger is 60w, so this will work fine. If you have the 12 inch MacBook with 1 port this would be a lifesaver - everything you need to make it usable. Overall it's a great adapter and does as well as it potentially can for every port it offers. It has an indicator light when it's on that I'm not sure actually serves any function, but the build quality is great. Aesthetically it looks great (and would look great with a space grey MacBook), though I will admit that I wish it was offered in silver to match mine. It's replaced 3 adapters I used to carry and I've gained power delivery, 1 USB port, and gigabit ethernet. The only question is durability, and if it continues to perform this way this thing checks every box. I will be sure to update my review if I have any problems with it (and how they are resolved).

USB C Hub for travel and as a docking station
This is my second USB C Hub from UtechSmart. The first one I bought for my office notebook as a docking station as the c930 doesn't have SD media slots, nor standard HDMI output, ethernet, etc... It worked so well that when I got my new HP 1030 G2 I was happy to get their 6-in-1 hub for travel. I don't need it for docking like the other hub, but when I take it away from home, it's very useful to have more than just one USB 3.0 port to access my drives with and charge my cell phone. The hub works just as it's supposed to, and like it's big brother, it too get's warm and so I'm relieved it has a metal body that dissipates the heat before ever getting very hot. At this time I have no occasion to test the ethernet, but everything else, from the HDMI to the USB C pass through and of course the USB 3.0 ports all work just as expected. The only thing I'd like better is if the hub had a removable USB C cable. That would allow for easier storage as I don't want to bend this one too much -- if it breaks, it certainly won't be working! And, unlike the 11-in-1 HUB, this one didn't come with a nice little carrying pouch, which was just a nice little touch.
