Almost too pretty!
Excellent materials and workmanship. I haven't had the opportunity yet to dunk it in the river but will as soon as the storms go away. Can't be caught holding a wet rope over the rail with lightning popping all around... It's amazing how many little snap rings, tiny metal filings, small parts and little pieces of leader wire I've found in the carpet around my workbench already!

Quality and Powerful Fishing Magent and A+Customer Service
This is one powerful fishing magnet. While there may be higher pull force options available (Quest also sells a 1222 pound and a 1333 pound option), this 888 pound model is more than sufficient for nearly anything that you will find in a river or lake. The more powerful options will also be larger in diameter and weigh a little more, which may or may not influence your buying decision. QUALITY: The outer casing of this magnet is very well constructed with high quality materials and workmanship. The epoxy weld between the casing and magnet on the bottom is smooth and uniform to retain water tightness and ensure longevity. The chrome finish will likely last a lifetime if you dry the unit after using, which should be common sense. I would recommend rinsing the magnet off after use it in salt water and then follow that with drying. The eye hook and anchoring screw also seem to be made of high quality hardware. The eye hook is coated or galvanized to prevent corrosion and ensure it will hold up to ropes or connecting rings. CONCERNS: One thing that I wish that Get Your Quest would do is to provide a certification paper along with each magnet that lists the quality control check of the particular magnet. This certification paper would identify the actual holding force of the magnet you get along with the date and other relevant information. I would assume that each magnet is checked already so it wouldn't add too much cost to provide this paper. Without it, consumers are left guessing if their magnet truly has the holding strength listed. It would take hundreds of dollars of test equipment to check it yourself. NOTE: Make sure to use a fishing magnet knot for fastening the magnet to your rope or the connecting ring. I prefer the ones that go through the eye with a double section of rope and then use a knot that further tightens itself when tension is placed on the rope. You can just type "Fishing Magnet Knot" into a search engine to find instructions if you are unsure of how to tie a similar knot. USE RED THREAD LOCK when attaching the hook to the magnet with the supplied screw and tighten down securely. This prevents the magnet from coming detached while in use. If you don't do this then you risk losing your magnet. CUSTOMER SERVICE: I contacted Find Your Quest though the Amazon contact a seller page to ask a question shortly after purchasing. They were quick to respond and extremely helpful and clear. They insured me that if I had any issues that they would always do whatever they can to satisfy a customer. I give them an A+.

Like a charm
Went fishing for the first time with this magnet and had fun. Had no idea what I might find or where the best locations might be but still enjoyed myself. Was able to help clean out a tremendous amount of old fishing gear from the bottom of the ponds I went to. Found everything from useful multi-tools/knives/scissors to the bottom half of a shopping cart. The tool did the job. Fun for the kids as it doesn't require hooks/worms or even unhooking a fish. Its like treasure hunting with the added benefit of cleaning the lake/ponds that we visit. The pull force was more than enough to grab through the muck. No issues at all.

Wildly strong
Bought it to go lake fishing but haven’t gotten to it yet but I know it’ll pull some interesting things up! It’s definitely an unnecessarily strong magnet I almost got it stuck on an ancient combine gear I had to use three flat head screw drivers to slowly spoon it off of a flat surface.

Ridiculously strong
Okay. Awesome!!! So I Recently bought a couple other fishing magnets that were a different brand. In all fairness this is a bigger magnet then those were. I bought a 330 pound one and snapped it to a steel beam at work. With a rope I pulled myself up and it held okay but gave out once I came off the ground. You could also get it off the beam fairly easy too. Now on to this big boy. I snapped it to the same beam and it held me up off the ground while moving back and forth. I’m 200 pounds for reference. We could not move it by sliding it or pulling it. I ended up having another coworker who is a mechanic come over with a big rubber mallet and hit it till it slid off. I will be buying more from this brand.

Powerful and useful
Bought this to find some car keys we lost in the local pond, after about 10 minutes of sifting and reeling we were able to pull them up successfully, we pulled up quite a bit of other random things with it as well. We fish quite a bit and have been playing with it while were out and found it to be super powerful and also interesting to find what it clings to on the bottom, thanks again

Outperforms
I've been magnet fishing the same couple spots for about a year now with varied success using a home made rig. I finally broke down and got a legit magnet, the 888lb magnet from quest. My first time out in the same spot, I pulled up some heavy items in just abt an hour. It does what its supposed to do and significantly out performed my home made fishing rig. I'm 100% satisfied with my purchase and can't wait to get it back in the water!
