I don’t think kids can use this because it can burn their hands if they accidentally touch the nozzle. In the beginning, I couldn’t get the pen to book, nothing came out. I notice the type of plastic was wrong and I set to the right plastic. When inserting the plastic, I purposely held and pushed the plastic string in place. These two actions allowed the pen to dispense. When the plastic is used up, there are still residues left if you insert a new one. So, dispense the leftover somewhere else.

So I have a 3D printer but used a 3D pen for the first time. It takes some practice for sure. Build quality looks good and the filament seems good enough foe small project.I would recommend parental guide while their children are playing around with this 3D pen since it has a heating element.

I have a bunch of materials after I failed to fix my 3D printer. I tested the materials with this 3D pen, they worked well together. Obviously human hand is not as precise as the machine, but it’s still a lot of fun playing with the 3D pen. I can make creative small stuffs without looking for the 3D design project.

Alright, so I've used 3 different 3d printing pens, and this one by far is my favorite. It's thin and easy to hold. It heats up very rapidly, which is nice, means a shorter wait time before you can start drawing. It has a good flow rate, I found it pretty easy to manage, especially with the adjustable slider on the side. Feeding filament into it is straight forward. The instructions are Crystal clear, which is a nice surprise considering some that I've seen.

This is a nice and lightweight 3D printing pen. The exterior is made of plastic and the small screen, that displays two rows of words, is clear and bright. It has a variable temperature and can take either PLA or ABS filament. There are a total of 5 buttons, a ‘+’ and ‘-‘ to change the temperature, arrows ‘down’ and ‘up’ to feed the filament into or out of the pen, and a ‘sliding’ switch to vary the speed (variable) of the filament coming out of the pen. It uses a micro USB cable and can be plugged in using the included power adapter or plugged into any USB outlet or even a power bank. Other accessories include a metal spatula, 2 small finger cap protectors (too small for the thumb), instructions, a plastic film to work on and a drawing stencil. It also comes with 12 different colors of 1.75mm PLA filament of 10 ft each which is just to start with.

Got this for my six year old for Hanukkah. The concept is pretty cool, it melts coils of plastic (kind of like a glue gun) so you can kind of sculpt stuff with it. My kiddo loves this thing, and has been making little charms and figurines with it. Only caveat: Young children will require supervision. This thing heats up to 190 degrees F, so you should supervise your child accordingly and remind them not to touch the tip of the pen with bare fingers (use provided finger protectors). I supervised my son very closely the first few times until he was able to respect the heating element in this pen— now he’s able to play with it with minimal supervision.

My kids and I have got into 3D Printing recently. We bought a Creality Ender 3 printer. It’s awesome. However, it takes hours to print. We bought the Merlion 3D Pen for them to use while waiting for the Ender 3 to print. They love the Merlion 3D pen even more than the real 3D printer. The Merlion allows for your imagination to come alive. The extruder works extremely well. They provide you with samples of PLA filament but I’d suggest you buy additional 1.75 PLA as your kids will love Merlion so much they will use up the samples the same day they get the pen. Great gift. Very safe for 10+ age kids. Safe for young kids(5-9) with adult supervision. Don’t hesitate. Just buy it. It’s so much better than the mind wasting, mind warping cell phones they normally play with.

I brought this 3D pen to my son for his birthday gift. I let he and his sister play with it. There were good and it was easy to use. They used it draw more things that they want to have, it's amazing! And this pen inspired their imagination and improved their hands-on skills! My son so happy to get this gift!

Just received the 3D pen today and can't wait to try it. I failed in love with the packaging the minute I saw it. Guess I could not resist color white and blue. When I first read the manual, I thought it gonna be hard to use. But it is not. It is really easy and simple. Just press the button and you can create your lovely art craft. It comes with a decent amount of filaments, which is really good. Just one thing to remember, if you buy it for your child, make sure you are around when your child play with it because the temperature of the nozzle can be hot. And you don't want your child to get burned.

I’ve wanted a 3D printer since forever. They are still out of my price range so I’ve gone for the next best thing. Turns out it’s rather brilliant. It arrives with ergonomic touch pen, 12 Colors PLA Filament,Fingerstalls,Removal Tool,Instruction Manual,3D Drawing Stencils,AC / DC Power Adapte It’s so easy to use. Adjustable everything you need. Speed, heat, pause, reverse. I first made my name, it’s really bad but helped to practice a bit. I’ve now completed a casing fora Chinese mobile phone I’m using that cases can’t be found for. I have no idea what we will make with this but having used up just one roll of filament are desperate to unleash our creativity. I think this would be a good gift for an arty child, though unless they are older you will need to commit to being on hand and creative with them. It might be good to make personalised beads for adding to necklaces or badges or little models; I think we're supposed to be making a boat next. My daughter has asked many times when we can use it again which is a good sign for anything like this that it won't be a one off. There is so much I’m going to make with this. Overall. It’s cheap fun and a handy thing to have.
