Love!
I love this watch! Perfect for android users that are active. Only downfall is the battery life.

So much better than some other watches. Very pleased!
I have been a Moto 360 watch user and loved it until the battery died and no one would replace it including Motorola. I did all kinds of research and eventually bought the venture gen 4. Big mistake. Battery was horrible, couldn't read the texts, touch sensitivity was all over the place. I returned it. Was going to write off fossil and then I saw this watch and its price was reduced. I half expected it to be terrible sure to my experience with the venture, but it is awesome!!! It's even better than my Moto 360. It's light weight, easy to use, battery life is great. Very happy!

Turn off tilt to wake. Turn on Always on Display
Turn off tilt to wake. Turn on Always on Display.I wish they gave that as a battery saving tip. It almost doubled my battery life.

LOVE IT!!
I was hesitant about spending $200 on a 'smartwatch' after buying cheap ones to be disappointed every time. I guess, in this case, you get what you pay for. It syncs to my Samsung S7 Edge without any issues and setup was easy. Lots of great features and is easy to use. The band is comfortable as well. I love that I can type or talk to text as well. Definitely worth the investment and can definitely see the difference from a name brand and cheap knock offs (at least when it comes to this item).

Great new features (updated 6/8/2019)
I have been wearing smart watches since they first appeared on the market. Some years I bought men's watches because they had features which the women's watches do not have. I have since given some of those to my son, or my husband. A lot of companies seem to make functional watches for men, and exercise watches for women. In the past those were fairly useless. Who needs a piece of high end technology to count steps? I don't, anyway. All that said, I am not partial to exercise watches but have bought a couple, mostly for my daughter. She di most of the testing with this because it is exactly what she is looking for. This year's model, Gen 4 has features the older watches lacked; a heart rate monitor, and sleep monitoring which does not require you to manually log anything. It is also waterproof, really waterproof, not just splash proof, as is the silicone band. The watch is much slimmer than previous models, looks like a real watch! It also has a bright, slick , modern design. Fossil smart watches have always had the edge in design. In addition, Gen 4 has a botton/ knob which is really functional. It can be used to scroll through the list of apps. Much of what has prevented me from wearing an exercise watch is Google, and those issues continue. I very much dislike them collecting health information, and refuse to contribute personally. One thing I enjoyed about last year's model was that it could be turned off. My daughter, however, is OK with that. Another note on software (again, this is google and not Fossil), Last year the watch was described as being able to store music. The only way to get music onto the watch was to buy it from Google. I did not use it. This year it is compatable with Spotify, which is preinstalled. There are a lot of little tweaks which make this watch more wearable and more fuinctional. Note in most of my prior reviews I talked about specs, and Fossil always had very good specs. They do not talk about them any more, anywhere, it seems, but then the watch has become something like a chromebook. It is basically a screen and android apps are streamed to it. That is wear, not Fossil. For years Fossil had it's own OS, but there were not as many apps available. Now there are but the trade off is Google's practices. I personally take issue with Google's practices, but do like what Fossil has done with the smart watch. --- I am updating my review now that the watch has been through some serious real-world testing. My daugh is a chef in a 5 star restaurant. She must wash her hands 50 times a day. That alone has kept her from wearing a smart watch until now. She also has a demanding schedule/ lifestyle, going to the gym for a couple of hours after work, even after a long shift, and then walks home, a couple of miles from the bus stop after work, even in pouring rain (seldom calling us to pick her up even though it is an option). She has worn this watch every day. It has been through hundreds of hand washings, and undoubtedly a lot of splashes, and rain. She uses it for sleep monitoring as well as closely monitoring her work out. It has not only survived, and not gotten in the way (as she thought it might) but actually makes a lot of things easier for her since she can use it hands-free with voice commands. I am updating because often what is described as waterproof or even durable is somewhat limited and not up to the rigors of street wear. She has worn this almost 24/7 for several weeks with a rigorous schedule which puts this watch through its' paces using all of the features routinely, and also exposing it to water, sweat, some vigorous shaking, and it has held up. I imagine that few people would be as hard on and demanding of their watch. It really does live up to the promises and works as described even in challenging conditions.

Seems well made. Fast enough to navigate. Very efficient and accurate counting.
I got this watch as a gift for my wife. She was so excited to receive her first smartwatch. First of, the watch looks very pretty; you can easily change the dials on the watch and download new ones so you never get bored. An important factor to note is that it is extremely accurate in counting your steps. I have owned numerous other watches or smart watches, and many have failed in the counting category. My wife mentions that it is lightweight, however durable enough for every day wear - sports, casual, and going out. She washes her hands and as her hands immerse in water or showers, the watch is great regarding water proofing. We have not tried swimming with it yet though. The silicone band is nice, but she prefers a different color, and you have the option of ordering different colors while installing it is quite simple too. Battery is fairly similar to my other smart watches, and it lasts her for a full day and some remaining. I would definitely try this watch for yourself. We have no issues thus far. Thank you and enjoy.

Beautiful and lightweight
I love this watch!!! I'm coming from. Samsung gear S3, so I expected diminished performance, but there is none. It's light as a feather, it's pretty and small, the screen is brilliant and it's all Google so it's perfectly user friendly. I haven't used it for fitness tracking, so I'll update the review if that is poor, but wow. This watch is solid, as long as you don't mind charging it daily. (It charges super fast)

Beautiful, comfortable, and user friendly
I love how this watch looks and feels on my wrist. This is my first smart watch and I wanted something light weight and comfortable. This fits the bill. It's also very easy to navigate and seems to have perfect connectivity with my Android phone. I love everything about this watch.

Great watch, get a better band
Overall great smartwatch. Biased because this is the first I've had but I do like it in comparison to a Fitbit Versa. The functionality is fantastic. A little laggy at times but acceptable. Overall appearance is great and screen is very bright and crystal clear. The only thing I dislike about this watch is the strap. I was really excited about it when I first got it because it was that smooth matte silicon. The finish wears off leaving very slippery plastic which makes the band slide up and down itself all the time.
