Built like a tank.
I quite like this thing. Very understated, simple, solid aluminum design, and capable of holding a lot of weight without moving. Doesn't weigh too much or take up too much space when compacted - it would fit easily in a laptop bag or backpack. The platform easily supports much more weight than even very heavy laptops, so that is no concern at all as long as the joints don't weaken over time. This isn't really an issue with the stand itself, but it isn't foolproof. The stand can be manipulated into positions where it will tip over, The laptop doesn't slide on the rubberized pads but could still be accidentally bumped off, and the aluminum construction could easily scratch laptops or other devices. If you're going to put your laptop up on a stand, be careful. The one thing that isn't perfect about this stand for me is that the two claws that keep the laptop from moving are just a little bit too tall for my extremely thin HP Spectre X360. With any laptop that isn't mega-thin, this wouldn't be an issue, but with very thin laptops or tablets they will touch your wrists. This works great for what it's intended for, and appears that it will have no problem doing it for a very long time - it's not going to be breaking any time soon. Maybe you could accidentally peel off the rubbery pads? Anyway, worry about your laptop, because this stand isn't going to mind taking any punishment you can throw at it.

I absolutely love this stand! Perfect size, perfect price, made very high quality!
This stand was a very good value for the price (I paid around $35) and feels better and looks better than some stands on here at double its price. I needed a stand thay had a fairly small footprint, which could elevate my laptop overtop two turntables easily, without getting in the way of the tonearm or other controls. This did that wonderfully, and exceeded my expectations. The stand feels like it's made from good quality materials and that it will last a good length of time. I liked it so much, in fact, that I recently bought another!

Exactly what I was looking for
This is a solid piece of equipment. I did not want to get a stand that didn't adjust. You never know how exactly you want the height or flatness of the keyboard or if you are like me have different scenarios you may want a stand for. This stand gives you every angle and height option and best of all its very sturdy! The all aluminum construction with solid, stiff but smooth movable joints gives you confidence that whatever position you put it in it will hold until you decide to move it again. In fact if its very stiff so you need two hands and maybe even an elbow to get it into place. Some may see that as a negative but to me, Id rather that then to set a position only to see it slowly slump over time. It also features nice rubber feet and pads on the laptop tray that do not slip and holds my laptop securely. I own both Macs and PCs and was worried that many of the Amazon products always picture the Mac laptops on their stands which is fine but they are very very thin and therefore do not require much of a 'lip' to hold them in place. I purchased this for my Dell G7 which is a fairly beefy computer and this stand holds it perfectly. Really happy with this purchase and highly recommend it!

Sturdy and great!
I'm using MacAir 2011. The stand is what I want. Very stable and looks good on my Mac. The silicone pads on the stand hold nicely with minimum slip (see in the pic). I keep the styrofoam pad underneath so that I can put my keyboard and pad. There are a couple of cons; 1. If there is a kind of indictor on the joints, that might be helpful to gauge the tilting angle. 2. When I got this, there are some scratches on the side. I really don't care that much but QC is definitely needed. If necessary, I will update.

The best! Headache stopper.
I have tried a lot of table stands for my laptop. This one is the only one that folds up compactly, holds my large laptop, and is very adjustable. I don’t need space for a mouse or keyboard. I have a weird hyper flexibility condition that requires me to keep my wrists up high while I type, which is contrary to standard ergonomics. I get really bad headaches when I keep my hands low. Bizarre, I know. However this device has been a lifesaver and has allowed me to keep my hands up as well as my screen at a good height while I type, and I have stopped having severe headaches and knots in my back. I want to mention that due to the hyperflexibility I do not get carpal tunnel. This is a very flexible laptop stand and I imagine it can be used for proper ergonomic use as well.

Superb laptop/gear stand
This stands are exactly what I've been looking for. Solid, adjustable, light weight and packable. I use the stands for my laptops and music gear. Super sturdy and pack away easily for gigs to fit in the backpack or record tote. I've used stands twice the price, ditched them and went with these. I have two and will be looking to add a 3rd to the studio.

I Love This Stupid Thing
I had a couple of reasons for wanting a laptop holder, but namely it was to use my computer in bed without it overheating on the sheets. I liked that this holds the computer high if needed and also allows for wide angles (ie near vertical). As others have mentioned, the joints are tight. This is fine if you're not constantly adjusting. But even then, it leads me to believe that it will be more stable and last longer. If I were to change anything about the design, I would round out the feet where the moveable legs attach to the base. Sometimes when I pick it up, I grab them and they're pointy. Also, the part where the laptop sits I'd probably add more air holes for ventilation/reduced weight. Obviously this isn't necessary, but the large oval hole could be spread out. Maybe hexagonal holes cut throughout. Just the design seems to be so basic and it could breathe better. But in all honesty it's not a concern, more a design preference. I looked at a number of laptop stands and can definitely recommend this one.

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for! High lift; sturdy; streamlined, clean design.
I've been looking for the right laptop stand for some time. Most of the other stands I looked at would only elevate the back or the whole of the laptop about 6 or 8 inches. This one I have set at about 14 inches, and I can still type! (It will go further than that, but if it's straight up, one cannot tilt the platform back much at all before the stand WILL tip. That's plain physics and not a fault of design.) I can have it down a little further, with the platform tilted back a bit more, for a more even typing surface, or I can have it straight up for viewing. Either way or in between, it elevates my laptop for more comfortable use. The hinged areas where it moves are very stiff, which is a good thing. I have no worries about it falling down. The two lips to hold your laptop are deep enough for my chunky old Thinkpad W520 (circa 2011--sue me; I'm in love with its keyboard). The stand is sturdy and solid. It's a nice matte, machined-aluminum looking finish. I love the clean lines! The logo is not as prominent as I was afraid it might be. It almost disappears. (See the last photo for how it looks most of the time.) Only at certain angles is the logo more visible. If I had to choose a "con," I would say that this could use more holes for ventilation, to keep one's laptop cool. I've not experienced any overheating in the short time I've had it, but it's something to watch for. This is a great purchase for me and I wish I had found it years ago!

The best laptop stand I've ever owned! Feels like my laptop is strapped in place
This is at least my third laptop stand. I've tried several different brands and types but this one may be the last one I'll ever need!!! (I only say "may" because I'm married and there may come a day when I'll need a second one because she might take this one from me) The BoYata laptop stand appears to be made out of solid aluminum and has very tight hinges. It's a little hard to unfold and to fold because of the tightness of the joints, but there's not much that you can do about that without adding some kind of ratcheting mechanism into the joints, which would make it harder to operate for other reasons and drive the price up. As it is, the stand is sturdy enough to easily hold my big HP laptop and feels like it could hold much more. It's rated to hold up to a 17" laptop... Mine's only a 15". It has rubbery grips on the top, bottom, and along the inside of the tabs that stick up in the front. These do A WONDERFUL job of keeping the stand stationary on the table and holding the laptop firmly in place. Honestly, my laptop has these obnoxious rounded edges that make it look all slick and smooth... Like a used bar of soap... It's comfortable to hold and nice to look at, but no laptop stand has a chance of keeping it from sliding off if I tip the angle more than a few degrees. Every other stand I've tried has failed to hold onto the front edge of this laptop. This one accomplishes what I thought was going to be impossible. It comes very close to feeling like the laptop is actually strapped in place... Honestly! Only time will tell if the hinges will stay tight... But until the day they fail, this is the stand for me! (I just wish it had been available in black... just saying...)

Amazing Quality and easy to assemble
I got this to use with my 13" laptop when I am studying. First the quality is amazing, Very easy to assemble. It has a good grip on top and bottom to not let my laptop slip when I am sitting in a slight angle. It is not heavy and is very comfortable to put on the lap if you need to. The space underneath also nice to have. Basically very worth it and highly recommended
