So far so good
For context, I don't do any PC gaming, but I do run a lot of statistical software (Matlab, R, etc.) with multiple screens; altogether that can sometimes be pretty demanding computationally. My computer would get quite hot which is why I got this. In the few days that I've had it I can definitely notice a temperature difference. The fans built into my computer are turning on less frequently as well which is a good sign. The only con is that they could have made the buttons a little easier to press. Other than that I'm very pleased and would recommend.

Super cooling power for small-laptop gaming!
Needed a small-form cooler that could fit in my 13.3" Razer backpack that could still reliably cool my laptop playing demanding games. This is the first usb-powered one I found that could deal with the heat & save me from shutdown. So far, performs just as well as my large Cooler Master that I rigged with a 9v plug... And can zip up in my backpack!

i-Star Laptop Cooling Pad, Blue
HEADS UP: I'll be basing this "review" comparing it to my experience with another cooling pad, the Coolermaster X-slim. BACKGROUND INFO: I use a Macbook Pro Retina, 15, mid-2012. Macbooks tend to run hot (in my experience/probably related to how I use it), and given that my laptop is nearing 7 years old, I am hoping to prolong it's life, one way by keeping it as cool as possible. The i-Star Laptop Cooling Pad is my 2nd cooling pad, for which I purchased for around $18 late December 2018; my 1st cooling pad was a Coolermaster X-Slim(?) - it had one BIG fan in the middle, which I used for about one year. So, a year ago, I debated between the Coolermaster and a cooling pad like this one, the i-Star - and I ended up getting the Coolermaster mainly because it was $10. WHY I ENDED UP GETTING THE I-STAR COOLING PAD: The Coolermaster actually did its job no problems, but there were fundamental design differences between that one and this i-Star pad that, in retrospect, I should have bit the bullet and spent $8 more on the i-Star. I like to elevate my laptop. Heat rises and all that stuff, so I figured raising the screen-end upwards would help dissipate heat better. (I know I'm probably over-thinking it, but whatever). The i-Star pad allows me to do that without my laptop sliding off, because it has a collapsible blocking thing in the middle. Furthermore, I can increase or decrease the angle as I please, from "flat" to 3 levels of elevation. The coolermaster pad was able to elevate the angle, but because it lacked a blocker, my laptop would slide off multiple times in a day causing me to readjust it. It wasn't really a big deal though. Next, the i-Star pad gives you the ability to turn it on or off, as well as to increase or decrease the airflow. This is great for me, since I leave my old laptop on most of the time, and in the same spot - I don't take my laptop out/around anymore. I have my cooling pad plugged into a separate USB port, and me being lazy, I keep everything plugged in so I don't have to unplug and replug stuff. My previous pad was the same way, but as long as it was plugged in, it was on. Which meant that you could hear it while sleeping or when I wasn't using the laptop. It wasn't that loud though. The i-Star, having 5 fans (1 big central one; 4 smaller peripheral ones) at max strength is probably a bit louder than the Coolermaster's one fan, one setting, but the nice thing is that I can turn it off when it's time to go to sleep or go away. There are LED lights that are on as long as the pad is on; they come in blue or red - I chose blue on a coin flip. Personally, I don't care much for the lights - it doesn't matter to me that they're part of the design; it wouldn't have mattered if it was NOT part of the design... I just wanted something to hopefully help extend my laptop's life. But given that there are lights, I'm glad I'm just able to turn it off when I don't need them. Again, the lights, like the fan noise, doesn't bother me much during sleep or whatever, but for those of you who might be affected by this, you can turn them off. WHY I-STAR AND NOT OTHER SIMILAR DESIGNS? It came down to cost. This one was $18 for me; other tiltable 5-fan designs with different airflow speeds were around the $25+ range. Some even had options to use different combo fans, a scroll-wheel for variable airflow intensity, etc, but for me, this had all the things I wished my previous cooling pad had. IS IT DURABLE? I'll say yes. When I took it out of the box (packaging was great btw), it sort of felt like the right kind of "flimsy sturdiness" you'd expect for $18: not too flimsy/ too cheap-feeling; but not the ultimately-desired unbreakable feeling. If that is too subjective a description, here is a more objective one: I have taken this cooling pad on a ~24hr flight smushed into my carry-on luggage (my bags were tightly packed... this particular bag was 0.2kg over the allowed weight for carry-ons in that kind of international flight), and I'm happy to say that the cooling pad came out just fine. No one abused my bag per se, but you know - the typical bumps and trying to rearrange overhead bins with occasional bag-banging... This cooling pad endured it. Other notes - there are no strange vibrations from the fans; there is no bowing from the weight of my laptop, or while I type. Rubber feet keep the whole thing from sliding around. SUMMARY: I'm happy with the i-Star; I'm able to work with it the way I wished I could with the previous, cheaper cooling pad. I love the tilt options, love the bar that prevents my laptop from sliding off, love that I can leave it plugged in and turn it on/off AND change airflow intesity. It's a bit bulky for my personal taste, but since I usually keep my laptop in one place ALL the time, it's not a big deal. I'm a happy customer!

It works Great
I was a bit skeptical about this laptop fan because It didn't have any reviews but I figured at the price it was worth the risk. I must say this item blew me away. The led fans are very cool and they actually lower my laptops temps. The build quality seems durable and it works great as sort of a docking station due to the extra USB port. I would recommend to a friend.

Laptop Cooling Pad is a Definite Winner!
I bought this laptop cooling pad because of its price initially. What arrived is a versatile, MORE than quiet cooling pad. With its 5 fans, it keeps our laptop cool continuously without effort and it arrived in no time at all! Definitely the one to buy, especially if you're thinking of getting another one.

Works great!
It works perfect and is ultra quiet. My computer runs so hot it would start to burn my legs if I was processing anything graphic heavy, this thing keeps it cool enough you would think the computer was off. The platform bottom on this, as opposed to two tiny little legs, is much better for using the computer in your lap. The fans are so quiet I have to make sure it is actually running.

Cool Blue Cooling Fam
This is a powerful USB powered cooling fan. I use several of these within my AV system to keep the units cooled down within the cabinet. It provides a cool blue lighting effect for the AV system and looks great at night. I have four of these going that automatically switch on when the AV control is powered on. There is absolutely ZERO fan noise and the four units provide a cool blue glow as background lighting. These are the best I have found and serve a two-fold purpose.
