I will write a full review later, as it is a Christmas gift for my son....who lives in Seattle...I will be spending The Holidays with them...after I purchased this item..in casual conversation..my son stated 'we don't eat much meat anymore' Oh no. He was born and raised in the Midwest..where there was meat at every evening meal..lol..anyway, they do cook turkey on Thanksgiving, for sure....I am mesmerized by this thermometer..and even if they just use it once a year..I think they will love it...5 stars ..in anticipation 😀

Very good.

I bought this for my Thanksgiving roast beef dinner so I don't have to keep opening the door to check the inner temperature of my roast beef. Last year, I always melt my food thermometer cuz I left it inside because it is so close to my desire doneness... I didn't want to over cook. (I don't have the leave in wire thermometer). But This one is much better because it's laser...I don't even have to open the oven door. However, my dad already stole it from me. He saw my package & said he wanted to borrow it to tested on a wall he has in the basement because the pipe behind it freezes always in the winter & grows mold in the summer. He wants to use this to test the wall humidity and temperature. HE LOVES IT. He told me this product is wonderful...he didn't know that his 2 walls in the basement could have about 6 Celsius difference in temperature...no wonder that wall's pipe behind it always freeze up in the winter time. He also tested the wall humidity....(he compared the a wall mount thermometer I bought previous)...he said it's really accurate. Oh well...I am really not sure if he is giving it back to me........

Fun and useful. Nice to have one around the house.

This is fun. As a housewife, I found it very useful for cooking, checking the refrigerator and oven. It appears to be accurate within a couple of degrees and helped me figure out that I need a NEW oven. I pointed it at everything and even tried to use this to see if my kid has a fever. Well... nice try but this is not made for that. It will only read the skin temperature, not the internal temperature. Overall this is a good product. The price is reasonable, the temperature is accurate and the grip is comfortable. I would say it is nice to have one around the house.

Bought this simply because I've always wanted one

Bought this simply because I've always wanted one . I have other electrical devices from Etekcity that have also worked great so I figured what the heck. I don't know how accurate this really is because I haven't tested it against anything I know the actual temp of yet however, it works great from what I can tell. My first use was for Bass fishing and telling the surface temp of the lake . Worked like a charm. Probably just luck but it was one of the best fishing trips I've ever had. We were on the Lunkers all day long because we fished where the surface temp said they would be! I know a regular thermometer would work too but it's not as cool as pulling this thing out plus it gives you an instant reading! Easy to use, small enough to fit in my tackle box but has a large enough display to read easily. Hold the gun 12" - 14" from what you want to measure for the most accurate results however, it appears to work from several feet away as well.

A New Toy That Works

Functions very nicely. Just install the included batteries and your ready to go. It's the only one that has humidity and a color screen. Does not have an annoying beep like some others. All you hear is a click when pressing. When you consider all the features in this compact temperature gun, it is a winner.

Overall this is an excellent product with nice grip and good to have in home.

I originally purchased it make sure if HVAC is doing its job when looking for a new home. It is really worth it, I was able to verify all vents with the instant scan. Typically that traditional method takes time and laser scanner make sense for this kind of job. Additionally, I was able to identify draughts around doors or windows. You can save a lot in heat by investing in this device, you would get your return almost within months or years depending on the situations. Pros - laser scan quickly - allows to scan on transparent material - able to turn off laser pointer - auto off Cons - not meant for critical temperature measurement applications I recommend this purchase over the higher end thermometers.

This is a great tool for HVAC, electrical and Plumbing & Heating professional, Cocrete workers. This little tool has already paid for itself, has last function memory, dual C/F temp display and super clear color lcd screen display and consumption values. And if you are tired of reaching behind a hot surface unit, with a Volt meter or ohm meter, then this tool is for you. I also bought one for home use, it's great for cooking with hot oil, barbeque and really so much more

Handy tool for cooking

I got this to measure food temperature while cooking. Simple instructions and accurate measurement. I used to have a traditional food thermometerI which takes a while to reach the final temperature and cannot measure from a distance. This infrared is very handy in terms of usability. I also like the color display a lot. Happy with the purchase!

good for oil temperature

This Thermometer has a really beautiful color LED screen which is a big plus for the produce. The main function for the product is using the laser to detect the temperature contact-less which works really well and temperature is really accurate. I use it for cooking the steak (get the temperature for the oil)it is really useful.

Great Tool and easy to use.

Bought model IR01A. The color display makes the information clear and easy to read. I have been using it for cooking and troubleshooting problems in my cars. The readings seem to be very accurate. Also plan to use it to find cold spots around the house during winter. The quality is good and it’s very easy to use. I am very happy with the purchase.
