The issue: We have several high shelves next to the stove in our kitchen. Because our kitchen is small, the stove is located in the corner near two cabinets that my girlfriend and I frequently use. On more than one occasion the knobs have been turned on accidentally by being pressed in by a hip and then turned by reaching up on tip-toe. It doesn't happen every time and normally you would notice the sound and/or the smell and turn it off immediately. The final straw: One week I got sick. My sinuses were so clogged that it had become difficult to hear and impossible to smell. I reached for a glass from the back of the second shelf. I hadn't noticed that the knob turned to about 1.5 on the stove. My girlfriend got home an hour and a half later and immediately noticed the gas smell in the house. Gas from the stove had been filling the house, mercifully, slowly. Needless to say, this could have ended poorly. The safety knob locks were easy to put on, fit snuggly, and feel quite durable. We have only had the product for a few weeks but we haven't yet had any issues. They are easy to use for adults but, I could see them presenting a real challenge to the average, inquisitive child.

I love these! Many times I accidentally would rub against the stove not noticing that I nudged the knob on. The only thing that saved me several times was the smell of gas. I was worried I wouldn’t notice the smell til it was too late one day so I started shopping for some kind of guard. Everything I looked at on line were those big intrusive plastic child proof doohickeys until I saw these and thought they wouldn’t work or fit etc because they looked too simple. WRONG. Absolutely perfect fit and they work like a charm. It took me a minute to figure out the directions, but I’m not the brightest crayon so I don’t think anyone else will have that problem. You won’t be sorry. Buy them.

Worked like a charm once I figured out the proper installation for my stove

I bought these for a Frigidaire gas stove. Exactly 4 quarters fit behind each knob, so I ordered the gray silicone locks. They arrived and I tried to install them according to the instructions in the manual. This is where I ran into some confusion. I thought they had to be installed with the thicker part towards the top of the knob, but no matter what I tried, I could still push and turn on the gas/flame. A call to Vadiff customer service was super helpful. The lady offered to send me the thicker (black) silicone locks to try. The next morning, she sent me an email suggesting that I try to install the locks with the thick part below the knob (pushing up to lock and down to unlock). I was skeptical, but tried it when I got home that evening. Voila!! That did the trick. Now I don't have to worry about an exchange. Just thought I would share this for anyone else who might encounter the same problem. I'm glad these work for our kitchen, because I was really hoping not to have to use those knob covers. Just a personal preference. I did happen to open and close the oven door while two of the locks were unlocked (i.e. dangling down past the knob) and they got caught in the oven door, but it was easy to catch and fix. It's a worthwhile trade-off for knowing that my kids won't be able to fiddle with the gas when our backs are turned!

awesome and accessible

I have two children in my home and am constantly worried about them accidentally turning the gas on, this product is so easy to use on a daily basis. while staying practical it also remains as discrete as a "baby proof" item can... this is the sleekest product and still gives me piece of mind. Another bonus is ITS SO EASY TO CLEAN! they're a rubber or sorts and can easily be soaked and washed in the event they get greasy or dirty unlike many of the fragile plastic products you mostly see in this department of products.

Brilliant easy solution

These are a brilliant solution to stove knobs. Slip them on. Done. Easy on arthritic fingers. Kids and pets can't accidential turn them on. Forget knob covers. They look good. They are easy to use. The red isnt obtrusive.

Just what I needed!

These silicone stove knob safety locks are perfect for my LG stove. I love my stove, but was frustrated that it would turn on if I accidentally leaned on one of the knobs, which I seemed to do often when I need to get out spices located above the stove. These safety locks went on easily and are easy to use. I like the fact that they are not in the way when the burners are on. These safety locks are not conspicuous, too. I purchased the grey ones, so they would blend in better with my oven.

Love these locks. We were always turning our burner knobs when reaching for the microwave or the back burner, or even the control panel. But I didn't want the covers. So glad I found these locks. Work as described and easy to install. I have them locking up so I can still open my oven. And like many have said, a quick look and I can tell all burners are off!

Keeps your burners firmly in the off position

I bought these after my cat turned on one of my gas burners while jumping onto the stove in the middle of the night. They're easy to install and use: you simply wedge the thicker end behind the knob to prevent it from being pushed in. When you're using the stove, just pull up on the lock and the knob can turn freely. They don't get in the way nearly as much as those clear knob covers, which is a big plus for me. The gap behind my oven knob is larger than the ones behind the burner knobs, but because of the variable thickness of the wedge part, these locks fit both just fine. Highly recommended if, like me, you have a cat who's out to get you.

Does just what it says on the tin, without slowing me down.

I needed to keep my front-angled cooktop knobs from accidentally turning, but I didn’t need child-safety. This is the only product I found that preserves ease of use while offering the mechanical security. Plus it was compatible with my knobs that are much closer together than most. Very happy.
