Pre-mixed, high quality, love Banyan Botanicals
Kitchari is great for occasional stomach troubles and moderate fasting; I try to make it about once a week to keep my body in good working order. I often add more of my own spices, depending on what I'm feeling the need for that day (more savoury, more spicy, et cetera), but it's great to have this pre-mixed kitchari spice mix. I plan on getting multiple large bags of single spices and seeds from Banyan Botanicals as soon as this bag is almost gone. Overall, very impressed with the company and their products! Another nice thing is that since the spices are so basic for this type of cooking, you can always use another kitchari recipe other than the one that's on this bag. Experiment!

Easy and delicious...and I can't cook!
The fact is, I can burn water. I cannot cook. Period. I received the spice blend, read the directions which were quite simple, yet did not clarify if the beans and rice were to be pre-cooked before adding. I felt silly calling Banyan, but I did anyway, as I wanted not to ruin the dish. Customer service was outstanding and I actually spoke to a human after 2 direct rings. That is very rare. He walked me through the recipe, giving me his own tips and told me it would likely have a different result each time, but that is okay. I felt empowered and marched into the kitchen with no expectations...it all turned out perfectly. The only downside is that it does need salt. Otherwise it is a bit bland. Salt and pepper to taste is recommended. Add veggies and other spices as you wish. It makes 2 HUGE servings, which lasted 2 people, 3 days! Short story...soak beans overnight and add with uncooked rice, water, seasoning and ghee, bring to boil, cover and reduce to simmer for 40 minutes.

Great spice mix
I am at the third order. I love these spices, i cook kitchari at least once a month and these spices are a great fit. One can mix all these ingredients but the art stands in finding the right proportions, % of each ingredient in the mix. I love them, makes my cooking easier. I tried their recipe and i love it too. I am vegan, kitchari it is a must in my diet.

Wonderful Kitchari spices
I’ve bought this twice so far. I’m new to making Kitchari but Love it, great comfort food. These spices are delicious and help sooth my gut. It’s very easy to digest and delicious prepared in my instant pot. I use 2 TB of this spice blend with 1 cup of split moong beans and 1 cup basmati rice. I first sautéed the spices in ghee (or coconut oil for vegan version) then added the soaked beans and rice mix well then add 5 cups of water. Close and cook it with rice setting. I’ve tried it with added veggies but I like to cook my veggies separately.

Very palatable.
I was doing a kichari aryuveda fast. I tried to do my first one ever with spices that I bought individually. I couldn't stand the taste or the texture. I tried banyan kichari mix and although still not a fan of this food in general. The banyan spices made a huge difference. The mix was just right, not overpowering, perfect. It allowed me to complete my fast instead of bailing all together.

haven't been disappointed yet! Thank you
I make kitchari all the time and really appreciate this mix for it's much more convenient than taking time to make my own. I buy other products from Banyan, haven't been disappointed yet! Thank you!

Good stuff! Helped enormously!
I'd been ailing for several weeks... Made a huge pot of Kitchari using these spices, and ate nothing else for three days.. After weeks of being ill, I felt infinitely better by the third day. Will order this again

Very tasty
I was very pleased with Banyan Botanicals Kitchari spice. I enjoy mixing my own spices; however, one of the great things about Kitchari is how quickly it can be made, so having a tasty spice mix ready to hand, is a real blessing and time saver. I recently made a quinoa Kitchari for friends using Banyan spice mix and their split mung dal. It was a great hit.

Tasty and Colorful
I used this with ground turkey, potatoes and peas. It was really tasty and even my picky eater son gobbled it down. It made the house smell really good. I like foods with a lot of color because they have phytochemicals (plant based chemicals which protect you from disease). During flu and cold season, thanks to bright veggies and spices, I never get sick. This is now part of my phytochemical warfare against the flu and cold season.

Love the Kitchari seasoning for my rice dish!
My friend makes Kitchari rice and gave me her recipe and now I make it with 3 tablespoons of the seasoning, 1 Tbls fennel seeds & half Tbls of brown mustard seeds simmered in coconut oil. When the seeds pop, put this in the rice cooker with presoaked wild & brown rice (a cup each). put in rice cooker with your simmered seasonings and add a carton of org veg broth, stir and cook! I add another cup of broth when it stops and cook again and then leave on warm for about 2 hours stirring often. It's great!
