Use the glove

I used the slicer for the first time today. With that in mind I beg you to please , please, please use the glove as the blades are very, very sharp. I promise you that if you don’t use the glove you will think of this message as you put the bandaid on or as you head to the hospital for stitches.....larry calloway

Best Mandoline! I was skeptical at first...

I have used other mandoline's and hated them. I was skeptical about trying another one but was willing to. I am so glad that I did. I love this one! It was so easy to use!! It has it's own container the food goes into and it grips on it so it does not slide around while using it. I also love how you can easily change the thickness of your food! There is a great handle that you can hold while cutting the food also! I will be recommending this to all my friends and family looking for a new mandoline. You don't want to pass on this one!

I love how this version comes with safety gloves. I've cut myself too many times on a slicer and mandoline. It has 5 different blades and they're stainless steel. It is also a great and useful gift for the holidays.

Perfect for my salads!!

Got this gadget for my salads. Really loved it. Loved the different shaped stainless steel blades (5) with great thickness which brought it great shapes for the vegetables for putting up a great salad show!! This slices really well and consistently without any as it had a nice glove that came as a gift with the mandoline slicer. Its clean after use as everything stays within the built-in container unless the mess happens when we tr to peel of vegetables or fruits. As the blades are really sharp you have to be very careful while cleaning the blades; maybe use the gloves while doing so. The handle is a nice addition to the whole thing which helps in keeping the whole thing steady while chopping the vegetables. All in all I would say its a great buy for this price. Its worth it!!

Great product with lots of attachment options!

Love this mandolin! There are plenty of blades for cut options, and the container at the bottom makes it easy to gather your sliced ingredients so cleanup is fast and easy. Just be careful when you wash the actual blades, and you're definitely going to want to use the glove provided, this thing is SHARP! It makes slicing apples for pie or radishes for a salad super easy though, and the fact that you can adjust the width of each slice is a great benefit.

Quality mandoline slicer for the price of a crappy supermarket one

I got this yesterday, and used it today to slice potatoes for my oven fried potatoes. Very easy to use. Very good design. I like the container that fits under the slicer to catch all the slices. (You do have to tilt it or empty it when the part right under the slicer gets full). It feels solid, and slices well and consistently. The food holder works very well (although often there is one slice left that you have to take off manually) Easy to clean - the blade comes off easily, although directions would have been useful. Overall, an excellent value - I can cut up 10 potatoes in half the time it takes to do by knife, and that includes washing the slicer. The container gives a place to store all the accessories, too. Better directions would help. The ones given are minimal. I had trouble removing the blade until I realized the protective tape was holding it in place, but I was doing it correctly. And I can't say much about reliability, since I have used it one day.

Thanksgiving prep made easy!

Getting this mandolin slicer was the best decision I have made in regards to cooking! I have, or I should say, had a mandolin that was a pain to use, so I never used it. It was an older one, no storage container and pieces that just got lost everywhere. This mandolin is so easy to use. It can slice, julienne and grate, and the attached container makes for easy cleanup and storage for those veggies (or cheeses) i'm not going to use right away. Not only is this easy to use, it's just as easy to clean, being dishwasher safe. This little thing has made my Thanksgiving prep so much easier and faster. If you're thinking about getting this...DO IT! You won't regret it!

Real truth: I have never owned nor used a mandolin slicer before. I was worried that all the parts would be confusing, that it would be difficult to change the blades, and that I would ultimately never end up using it because it was intimidating and/or daunting to do so. But no. I received it, opened it to see what was up, and clean it, and then realized that I could use it right away for dinner preparation. Cleaning and changing blades is simple. The catch tray is convenient, and takes up less space than my cutting boards. I used it on red onions without crying, made aubergine strips, and trimmed cauliflower florets and stems (put all of this in a pan with some olive oil, sweating the onions first with a sprinkle of salt, when things begin to get tender, add in a can of drained and rinsed chickpeas, season with a little turmeric, sweet paprika, ground coriander, and salt and pepper to taste, a little water can be added to deglaze the pan if needed, then sprinkle in some feta and a little parm just before serving). Adjusting the thickness is done by turning a dial located near the handle, so a child could probably use it if weren't for the incredibly sharp, and not child safe blades (seriously, keep this away from children - my kindergartner was warned as I opened it that it was not a toy, and she told me to keep it up because it looks really interesting, so yeah, I have to keep on top of the fridge to make sure she does not get to it). I washed up as I went so nothing got stuck on, and I did not even need to use the included brush to clean it. Easy.
