Really cool it matched me to known distant cousins who've also done the test. Also confirmed doubts of my origins. If you ever commit a crime they can search for your DNA in their database.

Love it. I'm English, Welsh, Scottish, Irish, and Northwestern European which is where my paternal ggreandmother came from Scandinavia. She was from Sweden. Next my mom's side. I know there's Welsh on her side so I may have a lot of it in me.

No ongoing matches without paid subscription to Ancestry..

I was strongly disappointed and irritated when my entire profile became inaccessible after the trial membership period ended. Perhaps I didn't pay close enough attention to information and could have saved the info I paid to receive but sadly I did not and without a warning. I was blocked from viewing ..I will say the test was easy to use.. results were quick (6weeks) and from family history I know...accurate.. three first cousins, hundreds of 2nd and 3rd cousins and probably thousands of more distant relations were linked to me ..showed me how we all really ARE related..

What a great product..

I first purchased the cheaper DNA testing operation, they really let me down, so I bit the bullet and bought the Ancestry.com DNA testing kit. What a difference, and I was extremely with the results and how they were presented. All I can say is pay the extra $30..

Good price

I bought this when Ancestry cut it's price for the holidays. It's simple to use and I was surprised that almost every trait it listed for me was correct. It didn't list any American Indian ancestry, which disturbed me because I know that my great-grandfather was half Cherokee. I have since found out that there are not a lot of samples submitted for American Indians. Hopefully, it will get better with time.

Great gift!

I received the new Ancestry kit as a gift and I loved it. It taught me interesting information about my heritage (I'm almost 50% English - I thought it was closer to 20%) and even connected me to a third cousin. Together, we discovered that we are connected to George Washington and Princess Dianna. I highly recommend doing this not only for you but for your family as well. Or give it as a gift!

Fun!

I wasn’t going to do one as my grandmother did our genealogy many years ago and I felt I knew much of my ancestry. Curiouslity got the best of me! I ordered one, took it almost immediately and shipped next day. Within a week and a half my results were in. So interesting! Way different than I had thought. Also I have a fratneral twin sister (or so we always thought) who’s daughter got a kit for Xmas one year. Our result show I could be her mother and that we share more DNA than identical twins! Now my twin sister is taking a test and I’m getting them for my kids as well because we want to see Who’s DNA our kids got more of. Looking forward to my sisters result to see if we are in fact identical twins when all this time we thought we were fraternal.

Great deal, very interesting!

I have been researching my family history for a while and was curious to see what dna I had ended up with. The deal through Amazon was better than going directly through Ancestry, and it was delivered the same day. Extremely easy, literally spitting in a tube and putting it in the mail. It It only took 2-3 weeks to get the results from the day I mailed out my saliva. All around, better than expected!
