What's important to know is that it's not mandatory that you have a bright pad but it does help especially for me don't go off of what other's say to much it all about what you feel you need and for me it does help with weeding. I love the size along with the weight of the bright pad helps to see the lines for weeding and its just a cool item to have along with the rest of the cricut family. Yes this bright pad is very full of "light"šŸ’”lol (very bright) you can change the brightness to fit your needs a plus in that area for me but overall the bright pad is useful in plenty of ways it's really up to you in what use you need for it and I truly needed it for my weeding and yes I do wear glasses as of 2019 and this product help me a lot. So I was totally new to vinyl crafting and decided to go "all in" for the Cricut Maker. I had nothing to use and decided to get the most recommended extras. This seemed to be one most frequently recommended. So I ordered. I had weeded a few items prior to receiving this and figured it would not make much difference. WOW! I was wrong. This thing is wonderful. I have had one cataract repaired and need the other done. I have a large floater in one eye as well. This thing is marvelous. I can feel my eyes relax! I can use this for many other uses around the house as well. It is thin but solid! Wish it came with a cover or sleeve of some sort but I just put it back in its box for the time being. Maybe Cricut will come out with a project for a cover for this and the Easy Press.

Love cricut everything!!

I purchased a less expensive pad, and kept having problems with it. Finally gave up and just ordered the cricut, which I shouldā€™ve done in the first place!! Canā€™t beat the quality of cricut!! Works great everytime!!!!

Just awesome!

I wanted a Cricut Bright Pad but didn't want to pay the asking price when they first came out. I ordered this during Christmas on sale and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! For me, it makes weeding intricate designs much easier and it also makes glitter HTV much easier to weed as well. Even though I got it on sale, it was still a little pricey and I know Amazon sells other light pads that are cheaper - but I ultimately chose this one based off others reviews and experiences and it seems VERY well made and durable. I'm happy with it and very glad that I purchased it.

I'm in my fifties and it seems hard to see what I need to weed when creating gifts for my family. I love the "Bright Pad" because it really to see the lines now. This thing is wonderful, and the only bad thing is that it does have a case, however I'll find a laptop case and use that to protect it from damage. It's worth every penny and it save on eye strain.

I'd recommend it in a heartbeat

I got this for my dear wife to use with her new Cricut machine. She uses it for weeding, some drawing and other aspects. It's really bright when on high. And, from our recent experiments with it, you don't need high all the time. I'd recommend it in a heartbeat. The only issue, if you want to call it one is, it's not battery powered. It must be plugged in all the time to use it which, is not the end of the world. We're just used to battery operated utensils with no cords. We'll survive.

I love this thing!!!!

I'm totally entrenched in the cricut eco system and I'm proud. The light pad may not be totally needed but it's totally worth it. I use it a lot even in the day time. Best purchase ever!

Great for tracing on watercolor paper

This lightpad works great for tracing over watercolor cold press 140lb. I used a dark marker and tracing paper under coldpress paper. Works great. Second picture book under watercolors 140 lbs paper. See great details.

Backlight weeding easy

Love love love my Cricut Bright Pad! Works great for weeding, you can adjust the light and is very thin so your wrist doesn't get sore. You do have to move around the glitter vinyl to see the lines, you can see the hints on how to weed glitter on Cricut. Wish is was battery but you do get an adapter to plug into the wall. The cord is nice and long so you can sit on the couch and weed! Very happy with it.

Helpful tool for Cricut Crafting

The Cricut Bright Pad was a great purchase, and I donā€™t know why I waited so long to get one. The packaging was excellent. It was in a sturdy box and well protected. It is very simple to use. You do have to keep it plugged in when using. It does not charge like a phone, iPad, or tablet. That is explained in the instructions. There are no extensive detailed instructions in the packaging, but instructions and help can be easily found on the Cricut website. It comes in several colors, if you want to try to match your Cricut machine. It is light weight, and has three simple buttons- on/off, and two buttons to adjust brightness. If you do a lot of crafting with Cricut then I recommend this. I give 5 stars for this product.
