Great thermometer

Great for sick kids. My kids don’t like to hold the thermometer in their months. This is a great alternative. It’s intuitive to use, very easy. Switches from forehead to ear easily. And I found it accurate when comparing to the mouth thermometer. Just make sure it’s been at room temperature before it’s used.

Excellent Thermometer!

This thermometer is amazing! I love how it has dual feature and easily switchable - forehead or ear. It takes a temperature super quick - 2-3 seconds. I found the readings to be extremely accurate. It also has 3 LED colors and sound patterns, green for normal temperature, yellow and a faster beep for a borderline temperature, and red and a faster beep warning for a high temperature. This was easy to understand and as a first time mom, having that marker between warning temp and high temperature helped me not worry as much when my child had a 99 temperature! I highly recommend this thermometer for new moms, seasoned moms, or anyone! Perfect gift for baby showers! This thermometer seems sturdy and the piece that comes off to switch it from forehead to ear is secured by a magnet and snaps on easily. Love this!

Easy to use, accurate

Coincidentally my kid ran a fever soon after receiving this thermometer. It is very easy to use, running along the hairline for the forehead scan or inserting into the ear for the ear method. I like this flexibility as I can choose according to the situation. Either way, the measurements seem accurate. I monitored my child's fever until it broke. Good purchase!

Highly Recommend

I would give this more stars if I could. Very easy to use. It has a silent mode and a backlight that’s easy to read at night. I gave this to my son and his wife for their baby shower. My son says this thermometer is used every day. It’s not only for baby’s temperature or theirs, they measure the room temp, bath water and bottle temperatures. Quick and Easy!

I love this thermometer. I had the ear thermometer way back in the day when they first came out and they were so picky. You had to have the right probe covers which were pricey and they made it sound like if you didn't use the probe covers, you were out of luck. Plus there were a zillion buttons and by the time you figured it all out, your baby had been screaming and his/her temperature had risen. This viguron thermometer takes a temp in 1 second flat. The direction book is really detailed and helpful, but when it says beep on the forehead instructions, just know that it's a very quiet click. I kept waiting for a loud beep, but it's the click noise. When you hear that, it has taken the temperature. So fast! It is also easy to use the ear version by just removing the forehead cap. Bonus is that it takes a room or object temp as well. I can see this coming in handy at work when I'm always complaining how cold it is. Now I have proof LOL. It also comes with a handy little pouch to keep it in. I'm so glad I got this!

I really want to like this product, and I picked it based on recent reviews. But I'm not sure if it's what I was expecting. First, the "scan" button has the universal power symbol on it, unlike the photos here. That's odd. Also, I can't hear the beeps whether it is muted or not. Minor or major gripes? The readings seem to be in the ballpark, but I don't have another accurate thermometer to compare it to. The readings are fast, though -- points in its favor. Still, I'm not sure this is what it was advertised to be. Edit -- customer service was quick to address my concerns, so I have adjusted my rating accordingly. Seems to be a good buy overall for the price.

accurate, user-friendly, and no probe covers!

Have only had this briefly, but so far so good! Easy to use and very user-friendly. I took my temp without reading directions and got the same results as after reading the box and basic instructions. Love that I don't have to worry about ear probe covers as well (many aspects of probe covers very frustrating with my old thermometer...). Accuracy claims to be the same for ear and forehead. *Doesn't say* oh just use the forehead as a rough guide and the ear part for the accurate measure like another forehead thermometer company described their own thermometer. Haven't found any cons yet. will update if it doesn't live up to initial impression... So far tho, awesome!

Quick and easy to know if having a fever

This is my first infared thermometer. I like how fast it can tell me whether I am having a fever or not by simply sliding it through my forehead. However, according to the operating manual, the forehead temperature may not be that accurate but I don’t care. All I want to know is fever or not (more like a yes/no question). If you care about the accuracy of the temperature, then this item may not be your best choice. Also, I don’t think that I will use the ear mode since there is no other clean caps in the package to replace. But with the forehead mode, I can get what I want in secs for sure.

Easy to use, fast, accurate and even came with batteries!

Pleasantly surprised with this forehead thermometer. Our old under the tounge thermometer died on us and going from that to this its a world of difference. Having an instant reading is amazing, especially with 3 young kids. The thermometer has a light up display, easy to read numbers and even memory where you can view previous readings. The end of the thermometer pops off and turns in to an ear thermometer which is equally fast but slightly less convenient than the forehead. The thermometer comes with a soft cloth case with drawstrings and even included the 2 AAA batteries needed to function.
