If you have a 60hz monitor, don't hesitate

When this thing is on sale for 179 it's incredibly hard to beat for the price. You can enable adaptive sync and enjoy all the benefits of an extreme expensive monitor for basically half price. I could never go back now. The color wash improved with DP cabling, which it does not come with. You will need a good DP cable to pull adaptive sync. I ordered one from CLUB3D. Whatever you get, ensure that it's certified and can do what you need. I feel most of the troubles people are experiencing with this monitor are entirely due to poor cables. DP isn't quite as universal as HDMI, especially with adaptive sync on unsupported monitors and without DP you will not be able to use adaptive sync at all even with the newer drivers. That said, I did try this without adaptive sync while I waited for my cable to come in and it does have washed out colors on HDMI, but that's the only real down side. I experienced essentially no tearing and now with my cable, I never will. 10/10 at it's current price point. Remember to give your eyes a few days to adjust to the new monitor before you decide it's fate. I did and I couldn't be happier. 144 or nothing now and I'm hoping to buy 1, maybe 2 more before the sale ends to replace the rest of my 60hz monitors.

Excellent Monitor

Setup was easy. The stand snaps together and then attaches to the monitor with a single screw. I do find the stand a bit flimsy, but the build quality on the panel itself is quite nice. It looks like a modern, slim bezel monitor. The display has an HDMI 2.0 port and a Display Port 1.2a. Both ports will support 1920x1080 at 144hz. The monitor comes with a high speed HDMI cable in the box. Please note that Free Sync needs to be enabled in the OSD on the panel and you must set the refresh rate to 144hz using the Windows 10 display adapter menu. Also set the color depth to 8 bit and the RGB Range to Full. Those complaining about the color have probably not accomplished what I stated above. Not having the computer and panel set properly will certainly cause blurry text and washed out colors. Once the settings are addressed, I found the color reproduction to be quite good. It is impressive to see how far TN panels have come. This is my second panel in the past week, the first was a curved 144hz VA panel that was having some screen issues, hence I returned it for this one. I can say that in my opinion, the screen quality is superior to that particular budget VA panel. Other positives is the low response time of the monitor. TN are the fasted panels available and it is noticeable. Comparing this monitor to the other 144hz FreeSync VA panel, using the UFO test pattern, this TN Panel from Dell is noticeably smoother with less ghosting. This monitor also boasts a 400nit brightness, where as most monitors are around 200nits. This monitor is a torch. The max brightness is downright impressive. In a well lit room, you would have not trouble seeing this panel. I am playing in a dark room and I did dial the brightness back quite a bit. It is nice to see that it can go impressively bright if needed. I initially went for a VA panel trying to balance speed and color depth. I was weary that a TN panel would look too dull. This is not the case at all. Once the settings are addressed, the color depth is quite good and the response time is as best as you can get.

Much Better Than Expected

I decided to buy this monitor before any reviews were out for it, so I was a bit skeptical, especially when switching over from an IPS panel monitor. However, I am pleasantly surprised with its performance. The colors are not that bad for a TN panel, MUCH better than I expected. Yes, the screen is very bright and does make things a little washed out, but it can be improved with some simple calibration. Text at 1080p at 27" is not the crispest, but doesn't bother me at all. I can spend hours in Word or online and it doesn't cause any eye strain for me. While not a big deal for me, it might be for others. Overall, I'm very happy with this monitor. It's a solid gaming monitor at a decent price point. Pros: Crisp and smooth in gaming. 144 Hz makes a big difference coming from 60 Hz. The minimal borders makes the screen look sleek and impressive. Matte screen with minimal to zero glare. Nice sturdy base and all black design. Solid Dell monitor build quality. Cons: Speakers are really bad. Don't plan on using them for any music listening. They do well enough for YouTube watching, but that's about it. Colors need some help out of the box.

I spent a few months shopping around everywhere looking for a new monitor to make my gaming laptop more of a desktop. Prices were all over the place, and there are so many options with technical specifications. This monitor turned out to be perfect for what I need, and you absolutely cannot beat the price. I'm using an i7700HQ and 1070 on factory clocks, and getting fantastic frame rates. Gives me great colors and images, small amount of light bleed at the bottom, but other than that I love it. I will be adding a second to my work/play computer set up shortly!

Buy this for Gaming and Thank Me Later

Dell 27in monitor was a steal for 179$ This baby boasts a beautiful picture! I was skeptical since I had an Nvidia card but there is absolutly no tearing even with vsync turned off! 144hz is excellent and everythibg feels so smooth. It doesnt weigh much either so it sits on my desk shelf with no sag what so ever! 1ms response time means smooth color transitions. Hdmi as well as display port and 2 USB slots to run peripherals round out the list of goodies for this bad boy! Completely happy.

Was On The Fence, Not Disappointed

Probably one of the best 144hz monitors you can get for the price right now. I ended up opting for this one over others for a few reasons. +For one, it looks gorgeous physically. Build quality seems good and the bezels are very thin--it looks like a very modern and attractive display. +Second, it was Dell, and my previous monitors have been Dell and mentally it's nice to have two Dell monitors next to each other. It also offers 2 additional USB pass throughs on the monitor which is always nice. +Third, it's 27". When getting a display, it's almost always best to opt for the larger one, and I'm glad I did. (In the photos, it's compared with an older 22" TN display) +Lastly, the price: It's hard to get these features at this price. This is one of the cheapest 144hz monitors on the market at the moment. I was afraid of the other reviews saying the colors are terribly washed out and there's horrible screen tearing. From my experience of playing a few games, even with Vsync off and with an Nvidia GPU, there really hasn't been any noticeable screen tearing. (I'm using a Display Port 1.2 cable if that makes any difference) For people who don't think 2ms response time is enough, that's a lie. You won't notice the difference between 1 and 2ms, considering the monitor only refreshes every ~7 ms. Others have complained about dead pixels. I'll update if I notice anything, but so far so good. The colors I do agree are slightly washed out and not as good as they could be compared to an older TN display, but while though I would like better colors, I honestly don't care. I'm not a color connoisseur, I just play games, write papers, and watch YouTube. If I had nothing to compare it to, I would think it's fantastic. All in all, a solid monitor. If you're on the fence like I was and don't care about not having perfect colors, then this is an excellent monitor and I genuinely recommend it.

I've tried almost every single 144hz monitor on the market.

It is better than what you will expect at this price point. People will complain about "washed out colors" but that is only right out of the box. With a few adjustments the colors are fine, and I've had A LOT of experience with VA and IPS monitors. The colors were actually better than I thought they would be. The speakers suck...but I don't know why anyone would buy this monitor for the speakers. Aside from that minor flaw in my opinion....the picture quality is great. There isn't any lag. There is no screen tearing. No screen flickering. It has been a very smooth experience without any issues. I bet most of the low review scores for this monitor will be due to the speakers...even though most people don't use the monitors speakers. Honestly, I wish manufactures would remove internal speakers from gaming monitors and lower the prices.

Freesync Rules!

This monitor is beautiful, and the refresh rate is amazing! Surprisingly wide viewing angles, and impossibly thin bezels. Build quality seems very high, and works well with nVidia cards since they began allowing Gsync/Freesync compatibility. Remember that to enable Gsync (nVidia) or Freesync (AMD) card (nvidia still calls it gsync, even though it's freesync), you have to go into the menu system on the monitor and enable Freesync, or the option will be unavailable in the software. This hung me up for a few minutes when i was setting mine up ;)

Beware once you experience 144hz nothing else will feel the same!

I bought this monitor because I wanted to get back to the good ol' 144hz gaming experience after finally breaking the console spell that was cast upon me. For under $200 you get a screen that is perfect for fps (first person shooters) as well as every game in general providing of course you have a graphics card cable of obtaining higher than 60 frames per second. This dell gaming monitor not only supports free sync but with the new update from NVIDIA now allows it to support G-sync as well. G-sync is nothing more than NVIDIA's answer to adaptive sync technologies at a ludicrous price point. So you might be asking what does that mean for you? It means your bang for the buck just got a heck better and I truly believe that this monitor is among the best TN panel monitors under $200 that supports free sync, G-sync and has vesa mount capabilities.

G-Sync compatibility and 144hz on a budget

Since nVidia recently began supporting G-Sync on some FreeSync monitors, I had been looking for a new gaming monitor that worked with G-Sync, was a bit larger and thus easier on my eyes, and wouldn't break the bank. After a lot of reading (both product info and reviews) I ended up choosing the D2719HGF after reading other users were having good luck getting G-Sync to work with this monitor. I am happy to report that this is indeed the case, and after connecting up the display with a DisplayPort cable and enabling G-Sync in the nVidia settings tool, adaptive refresh is working and, man, I am actually surprised at the difference it makes. Everything is just noticeably smoother on screen and responsiveness is improved, as well as eliminating input lag sometimes associated with previously having V-Sync enabled. Note that this monitor is not "officially" listed as G-Sync compatible by nVidia, but I can verify it does work flawlessly. As with all FreeSync displays that are G-Sync compatible, you will need a DisplayPort cable connection (not HDMI) and the latest drivers from nVidia that implemented FreeSync compatibility (starting in mid January of '19). As for picture quality, color reproduction, black levels, etc; They are good to acceptable. This is a TN panel which means you are sacrificing deep blacks and color reproduction for enhanced response time. I am happy overall with the image quality of the display, but it is noticeably less vivid than the IPS panel on the monitor I have next to it. In addition, since this is a 1080p display, text appears less fine (more pixelated) than it would on a smaller monitor. This is of course to be expected as the pixel density is decreased compared to a smaller panel. This is most noticeable on the Windows desktop or in Chrome, etc. For gaming, this is a great monitor and I am very happy with it, especially for the price. I'm using the monitor with an nVidia GTX 1070, so 1080p is about the upper end if you want refresh/frame rates above 60fps with everything cranked to ultra detail-wise. With that target in mind, this is a great gaming monitor and I am very happy with my purchase. There are definitely nicer monitors out there, but for the price point, and if you are on a budget, this is an extremely solid choice.
