The drain pipe off the washer was clogged and the water was backing up, flooding the basement floor. I followed the directions and then flushed hot water down the drain pipe to move it all completely through. I was thrilled the package arrived quickly because I had laundry to do! I'll let this snake stay in my house!

I had a slow bathtub drain for months - 12 inch plastic snakes did not work - Liquid Plumber did not work - screaming like a little girl and pulling my hair did not work. Drainx Pro Steel Drum Auger Plumbing Snake did the trick and only took 15 minutes at the most. The price wast right and shipping was fast. BOOM SHAKALAKA!!

So definitely use the gloves they give you. I was lazy and didnt. My hands got really dirty just from the lubricant already placed on the snake. It did not wash off easily. This fixed my clog in notime. Just watch a video on youtube on how to use it. Keep winding the auger in the same direction either when pushing or pulling the snake. No need to spend hundreds on a plumber.

We bought this for our bathtub and I didn't feel like paying a plumbing service $200 to come and fix it when we could do it ourselves. My husband said it was really easy to use and worked great. I like that it came in a storage tote/bag. We didn't use the gloves but it's still nice to know we have them if needed.

Pleasure to write a review. Of course I had a plugged drain. Tool perfect for the job if you follow the simple directions. What I want to write about is what you do once the plug is dislodged. Advise not to just pull the (25') tightly wound spring-like quarter-inch plunger line back out but to run it constantly in and out as you withdraw it...helps loosen any remaining gunk. Also, DO NOT just shove it back into the storage unit as you withdraw the cable run. Leave it gather as you are pulling it out. Once withdrawn, it is typically dirty and wet. Lay the cable out straight if at all possible. Then douse a rag with WD-40, wipe the cable from end to end with the rag to clean, oil and let dry. Now return the cable to the storage unit. No rust likely until you are ready to use it again. Recommend rapping a colorful tape around the cable at a point leaving a full wrap in the storage chamber. Extending full length when using the tool without this guide could result in you losing the entire cable "down the drain"!

Wow! What a great job this thing did. Unbelievable the amount of hair and junk it was able to bring up. Haha...yuck! Unclogging my bathtub/bathroom sink was relatively easy and I saved a few hundred bucks in the process. :D

We moved to our beach cabin full time this year when I retired. The septic system was for an rv and just couoldn't handle the constant use. After we had our system repaired and brought up to modern code the shower would still fill and become a shallow tub. The shower would drain in about 30 minutes. So I thought I would try the DrainX off Amazon before calling a plumbing company to roto-root the system. I watched a You Tube video on the proper use of these tools and when my Drain X arrived I shoved it down the drain spinning the cable to go around corners and finding the clog about 12 feet from the drain. I began rotating the cutter and soon I was through the clog. I turned and turned the cable . When I pulled the cutter out there was a he hair ball attached. I thought that was that. I tried the shower only to have it still drain very slow. So I went back into the drain and about 18feet away I found another clog. I repeated the procedure and this time I brought up more hair and gunk in it. Drain Problems Fixed!! The tool comes with a bag and a glove. Buy a pair of long dishwashing gloves or get a pair of nitrile gloves. The bag is a nice touch for storage. Be prepared for some clean up as 20 feet of dirty cable and cutter wiil make a mess in your shower or wherever you use it. A little clean yup is worth getting the drain open. The Drainx is an Excellent product. Here is the You Tube Video...

It arrived with paint chipping off of the medal part and a dent right there. I haven’t used it yet to know how well it works, but the dent and paint already being chipped was disappointing. Update: Wow, they must have read my review and shipped me out a new one the next day. This one is fine and that’s impressive they cared to do that. I don’t mind changing to 5 stars.

I love this drain snake. If you are looking to clear a drain, just get this one. It's definitely worth the small expense and effort. I doubt I ever spend $$ on drano or liquid plumber again. This auger cleared a drain that I have had off and on trouble with for a couple of years and wasted money on chemical drain treatments multiple times. This found the obstruction quickly and now the drain is perfect. The storage bag and the gloves are a nice touch. Cheaper than the big box stores and it was shipped fast. The metal housing is better than most of the cheap plastic ones as well.

that was a one of my Dad's sayings. I had a stubborn clog in the bathroom sink. I had removed and cleaned the trap and it still wouldn't drain. as soon as this snake arrived, I unwrapped it and tried it. The head hung up momentarily where it went thru the trap, but the rotation of the auger got it past that right away a few moments later all of the standing water in the sink just drained right away . Haven't had any issues with the sink since. There's no substitute for the right tool, and this one does it's job beautifully.
