A high-end pulse oximeter at a great price!
This one is a step above most pulse-oximeters. It has the usual features you would expect: It takes your pulse and measures your blood oxygen content. But that's where the comparison ends between a basic unit and this advanced one. Two of the features are useful additions to a basic unit. One of these features is a plethysmograph, which indicates graphically the amount of blood flow detected. Each wave on the graph corresponds to the heartbeat, and the height of the wave indicates the strength of the pulse. The other feature is a perfusion index indicator indicates how much blood flow there is. If there's not enough blood flow (a low perfusion index), as there might be if you have very cold fingers, a finger you're using for the test has nail polish on it, or you have very small fingers, it won't give you a false reading. The PI (perfusion index) is displayed in the middle of the display. Because this unit makes sure conditions are right before taking readings, this one may not give you a reading as fast as less expensive models do. Sometimes it take 15 seconds or more for things to stabilize. In my opinion, it's a small price to pay for a more accurate reading. The display is not only easy to read (it uses a large and detailed OLED display), but you can change which direction the display orients for easier reading in any of 4 directions. It comes with 2 AAA batteries installed (you only need to pull out the thin plastic sheet to allow the batteries to connect to the device inside), which should give you 30 hours of use. There is a low battery indicator on the display, and it automatically shuts down if it detects no signal for 10 seconds. One other feature that isn't on less expensive devices is that you can change some settings on the unit through a menu system. You will probably want to keep the manual handy if you want to make frequent changes until you understand how it works. You can change the alarm sound setting for pulse rate and/or oxygen saturation level, turn on or off the beep setting while measuring your pulse. The beep is actually a tick-tick-tick sound but in the menu it's called a beep, and it will send tick-tick-tick sounds out as your pulses are detected if you have that set to on. There is a brightness setting, and an alarm range setting for for high and low values of oxygen saturation and pulse rate levels. Personally, I have the alarms and ticks set to the off setting, but they are there if you want to use those extra features. Excellent & reliable
I am caring for my Mom who is recovering from a complex open heart surgery. Monitoring her heart rate and blood oxygen levels is an important part of her recovery and health. I purchased this product based on the testimony of a physician who said he uses it for transporting patients. We purchased this product and when the home health care nurses come and test Mom's vitals, this product matches up to their costly, high tech gadgets they use. Its good quality, easy to set up and use. I am thinking of purchasing one for myself and my husband to use just to keep ourselves on track with heart health. I would definitely recommend this product!

Warnings flash when detected (below 95% oxygen and below 60 beats per minute)

Superior to all others
I have tested this against a blood pressure pulse rate monitor as well as a coincidental visit to an urgent Care Facility. It was spot-on with both comparisons. The packaged instructions are clear and comprehensive but at first look they appear intimidating. Disregard some of the technical specs and the rest of it is easy. The waveform part is important to me as well because I have atrial fibrillation. Unbelievable but it also gives a true picture of the heartbeat shape amplitude and wavelength although there is no reference number for measurement. It has a disclaimer that it is for non-medical use only. Disregard that since it is only a liability limiting feature so that it can't be claimed that they were giving a device for medical use and thereby incurring liability. It is accurate for home medical observation and of course for the Sports use. The silicone cover, lanyard and carrying case are also a bonus

Awesome and convenient
I love this Pulse Oximeter and the Plethysmograph , which I thought to be a static display is actually very useful to display the quality of the reading. The ONLY thing I might wish for is that the results display would persist for several seconds after the meter is removed from the finger tip. The power button is used to rotate the display so that it can be read from multiple directions and the extra functions might be convenient. This is a handy device to spot check oxygen saturation and pulse rate.

Got bronchitis? Get this!
I bought this to help monitor my heart rate and oxygen levels since I've had persistent and intense bronchitis. I also ended up having a bad reaction to antibiotics (Azithromycin) that raised my heart rate significantly from my usual 65-75 range to 100. This was verified by my doctors during two different office visits. This has been accurate when I compared it to the office readings and my home BP monitor that has a heart rate. It's so easy to use right out of the box and very user friendly. (Glad to report that my oxygen is normal and my pulse is finally back to normal!)

Accurate and beyond simple to use
I have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. As a result, my pulse is highly variable from standing to sitting and depending on temperature. Not only that, but I have asthma and anxiety. Some days, with all the biofeedback I'm getting, it's hard to process what's coming from my body and what's in my head. It's incredibly helpful for me to be able to see a readout letting me know if my SpO2 is actually low or if I'm just anxious about something. No more "just in case" albuterol doses for me. It's also wonderful to be able to track my heart-rate and have an easy way to gauge when it's gone back into normal range from a spike. Pros: The instructions are VERY detailed and easy to follow. I work in healthcare and have used a variety of pulse oximeters. They're not always as intuitive as this one (i.e. those awful clunky red things that have six buttons and none of them are labeled with anything helpful). The parameters are variable for your own personal needs (my SpO2 is often low and my heart rate is often high, so it's nice to not get an alarm every single time I use the device). The size is compact and easy to throw in a backpack or purse. The view is changeable for comfort (and it's easy to do so since there's only the one button). I haven't heard the alarm yet so I can't speak to that, but the tone for the pulse tracker is pretty unobtrusive. So that's reassuring. Cons: Seems very sleek and shiny, which at face value is wonderful, but in the long term makes me wish the product came with a case. The lanyard is great and all, but it would be more handy to protect the product (I think) than be able to hang it off something. Overall? An amazing product and I'm glad I bought it. I can't speak to the durability or battery life since I only purchased it recently, but so far it's wonderful.

Best Pulse Oximeter I have used
This unit is fast and extremely accurate every time. I have used 3 different brands over the past few years and this Innovo Deluxe with Plethysmograph and Perfusion Index is by far the best. Works equally well on me and my wife. The Plethysmograph and Perfusion Index are very helpful and let you know that you are getting an accurate reading. Another reviewer said it was slower than other units, but I have found it to be faster. I have since ordered 2 more so I can have one on every level of our house.

My favorite pulse oximeter
I'm a home hospice nurse. This is my fourth pulse oximeter, and my favorite. I like the perfusion index % (PI%) indicator, which tells you whether a low pulsox reading is likely to be accurate, or whether it's due to poor circulation. It also has a pleth wave, which helps you quickly find a finger with a good pulse likely to provide an accurate reading. It appears to be well made, and the price is great. I have only had it for a week, so I can't speak to durability or battery life just yet.

as good if not better than the doctors
I was dealing with a bad lung infection and double pneumonia for 5 months. it was finally under control once I had a lung biopsy done. while I fought with the medical system to find an answer, I was admitted to the hospital several times, due to a low oxygen level. I never really knew or thought about it before, but the hospital kept testing me and I was averaging about a 67..not good. I did some research and found this was not only a great unit, but a great value as well. when I went back to the hospital and later the doctors, I took this with me and when they would test me, I would check on mine, which matched their professional units. it got to be the nurses had me do mine first, then theirs. match after match. most of them, including a few doctors guessed the unit cost about $150-300 dollars. I am very pleased. the numbers are crisp and bright, and the unit feels sturdy not cheap or junky. I am not in the medical field, but this unit makes me feel more in control of my health
