Maybe the best tablet case I've purchased.
Don't let the reasonable price of this case fool you. There is nothing about this case that says $16. In addition to the Nexus 7, I've had an ASUS Transformer Prime, a Kindle Fire, and an older Keyboard Kindle. I usually buy multiple cases for each device until I find the one that's closest to perfect for me. I bought two cases for the Kindle KB, two for the Kindle Fire, two for the Transformer Prime, and two for this newest Nexus 7. I should say that I favor functionality and protection over elegance. I have a nice, rich leather case for the Fire, and it's fine, but chose instead, for daily use, a fully zippered case that is less fashionable but more functional by far. So that's MY particular angle in this MoKo Slim-Fit case for the Nexus 7. This case is a near perfect match for my needs. The Nexus 7 is held firmly into the case by leather and microfiber covered spring clips that also protect the edges of the tablet. The spring latch closes the case securely and opens easily, even with one hand. I love the elastic strap that secures the case in the open position (cover doubled back) without interfering with the screen in any way. Additionally, there is a wide elastic hand strap on the inside left cover that one can slip a hand into when the case is folded over and locked open. The inside is finished with a gray microfiber, and the exterior, described as "Premium PU Leather" (I don't know what PU leather is) certainly SMELLS and FEELS like real leather and has a nice fine pebbled finish. If it's not leather, it is the best imitation I've ever seen. And frankly, I don't really care whether it's leather or some imitation product. It's nice. The edges of the Nexus 7 are protected from impact all around by the heavy-duty leather-covered spring clips that retain the tablet in the case. All controls and ports are accessible, open or closed. The auto screen shutoff function of the cover works perfectly, and it does not, on my example, deactivate the screen when the cover is folded open. I love this case. It is well constructed, the detail finishing is good, and it's hard to believe you can buy this for the price. I would be happy with it at twice the price. If I buy a 10" tablet at some point, I will hope that there will be a MoKo case for it with the same features and construction as this one.

Excellent cover - Beware - still defective covers being shipped.
First off, this cover is awesome. It's nice, sleek and when you close the cover over your N7, it turns off the screen. However, you need to be careful. MoKo knows about defective covers that cause the screen to turn off when you flip the front cover all the way back. This issue has been around since last year (2012). You would hope by now that Amazon would have gotten rid of all the bad cases, but apparently not. I can attest to the GREAT customer service from MoKo. They WILL give you a free replacement and you do NOT have to send back the defective cover. Response is quick and the delivery turnaround time is very good. Within a week of getting my defective cover, I had a new cover in hand that works. So, do be aware that you might get a defective cover when you first order, but don't despair. Just contact MoKo and let them know. You WON'T be disappointed. Still, this case definitely has a nice, snug fit around the N7. To prop it up is easy. You just pop the bottom part off the left side of your N7 and then you can prop it up at two different viewing angles. Couple this with a bluetooth keyboard and you have a nice setup. It's what I have and I love it. I only wish it allowed me to stand my N7 up in portrait mode as well. I know MoKo has the 360 cover, but it doesn't have the hand strap this one has. Access to your headphone jack and the MicroUSB port is a must with any cover and this one doesn't disappoint. The placement of the "hooks" that grip onto the N7 are at the right areas and the spacing between them means unmitigated access to the ports as well as the power and volume rocker. The hand-strap and the side strap are a nice combination (when you get the magnet issue fixed) that allows you to hold the Nexus 7 in your hand and not having to worry about the cover slipping or folding closed. Overall, for the price, this is an excellent purchase and investment for the N7. Too bad Amazon still has some of the bad batches of covers. But, don't let that deter you from getting this cover.

Perfect for my new Nexus 7
I ordered two cases at the same time. This one and one by another well known manufacturer. This one wins. So far, it does everything I want. It's the slimmest case I've seen and I've bought 4 for my wife's original Fire. I doubt if it adds more than a total of 1/8" to the front and back of the Nexus. Before I got it, I was a little concerned about the catch because it isn't a magnetic catch like I'm use to. This just clips over the edge of the Nexus for a perfect fit. It holds well without flopping open, but still releases to open easily. It doesn't slide into a sleeve like the others I've seen. It has clips at each corner that stabilize it, and two more rigid clips at the top and bottom that hold it securely. Once open and folded back, it has a slender elastic strap that loops over each corner and under the cover latch to hold it open securely and not flop around. Once open, it has a nice wide elastic band to slip your hand through to give you a secure grip on the tablet that keeps me from worrying about dropping it. I almost wish it had the same thing on the outside for when I'm carrying it around. The charging port and all of the controls are easily accessible with the case on. The raised ridges for setting it at different viewing angles work very well and much better than most other cases I've seen. The PU leather looks very nice, much nicer than I expected. Actually, I think I prefer the term Vegan leather. It does sound nicer than PU. I'm not sure where they come up with these PC terms for immitation leather, but in any case, it's a very nice looking high quality imitation leather and I'm pretty sure no animals sacrificed their lives to make this cover, if that matters to you. It does have a stylus loop, but I haven't received my stylus from Amazon yet to try it out. The only small problem I've found, is that although it has holes on the back of the case where the speaker is, with the front of the case folded all the way back, it still blocks the speaker holes. I don't think it blocks out that much sound and is not a big problem for me. It's a nit pick, but it's almost the only thing I can think of to complain about. Except for the fact that my wife now likes this case as much as I do and wants one, but I told her that since she's getting one of the new larger Kindles for Christmas, she's going to have to wait and see if MoKo comes out with a similar case for her new Kindle Fire. It may not be right for everyone, but it's my favorite case so far and the other one I got is now relegated to back up. After I submitted this, I remembered another good point to mention. The magnet on the flap for putting the Nexus to sleep when closed and awaken when opened works great. Unfortunately, the longest I can set the Nexus to stay awake is 30 minutes, then it's going to sleep one way or another

Moko/BSCStore Customer Service is amazing!
Pros: This case fits well and looks nice. It is fairly easy to remove the tablet from it and replace it back into the cover. The stand has multiple angles which are very usable. It seems durable and well constructed. Cons: My #1 problem with this case is that when I fold the front cover back behind the device, it turns off the screen. It seems to detect the magnetic strip that is supposed to blank the screen when closed on the front. So I cannot use it with the front cover folded back or use the grip handle. This is quite annoying. I would give it a 5 if it were not for this. The sides do not cover the buttons! I'm okay with this, but if you want the buttons protected from spills, etc. you need to look for a different case. UPDATE, 07/11/2015 - the new case that I received has the exact same issue. I own two of the Nexus 7 2012 tablets and I have tried both tablets in both cases and both have the same problem where when the front cover is folded behind, the screen turns off. UPDATE 2, 07/23/2015 - The 3rd case is a charm! No more problems! Thanks to BSCStore and Moko customer service for going above and beyond! Every company's customer service should be as good as yours!

They thought of nearly everything
The Nexus 7 is my first tablet device. So this is my first tablet case (purchased in October of 2012), although I do have a cover on my Kindle Touch. The materials feel solid & are comfortable to the touch. The overall construction feels durable without sacrificing flexibility. I had to get used to prying the front cover open from the closed position, but it took no time at all. Adjusting my opening technique (lifting the corner, inserting my finger & sliding it towards the center) is absolutely worth having a cover that snaps securely closed. I have had no issues with the auto-sleep feature. Seems to work exactly as intended. Contrasted with the cover on my Kindle Touch, this one adds corner protection. I'm not prone to dropping my electronics, but I love the peace of mind that comes with those little corner-hugging tabs. I am not a stylus user, but looking at where the stylus loop is located, I could see where the stylus might be somewhat in the way when it's not in use. I might have considered moving the stylus storage to the inner spine of the cover, but there's really no perfect spot. I might also have designed more than 2 angles for the landscape stand mode, as I think there is room for 3, and more choices are better. But I keep this tablet on my desk at work & stream video for 4-5 hours per night & I have no complaints with the existing available angles. The hand strap elastic seems to have stretched just a tad after a month or so of infrequent use. Perhaps a non-elastic strap with a length adjustment would be more durable over time. Overall though, this cover is versatile, well built, and easy to use. It's above average in most ways, and probably the best overall package I have seen as I compared to other models, even after purchase.

Awesome Case at an Awesome Price
I received a Nexus 7 as a Christmas gift and received a Targus case for it. When I found out the Targus case from Best Buy was about $40, I said it had to go back and I'd find something else. I did, however, like the Targus design with the rigid "claws" that protrude from the corners of the case. The Nexus 7 fits firmly into these claws on the MoKo case, and not only is the case sturdy and the front cover rigid to protect the screen of the Nexus 7, but the quality of the vinyl is leather-like in its appearance, texture, and feel. In addition to the high quality look and feel of the case, there is a neatly engineered "grab handle" that is simple but ingenious at the same time. Not only can you easily position the screen to watch a movie, but I've used the handle to read a e-book while walking. Also, that claw in the middle of the case not only secures the cover on your Nexus when you close it over the device, but it also must have something in it that triggers the Nexus to go into sleep mode when it touches the device. If you don't already have a cover for your Nexus then you may not realize this, but the Nexus was designed to turn off automatically if the cover triggers that function and this cover does trigger the device to go into sleep mode. All of the above said, I highly recommend this cover. It blends excellent design engineering and fit and finish in an extremely reasonably priced cover.

A good case
Update: The review below reflects a defective device I received. I was contacted by support and they not only offered a replacement unit but the opportunity to provide insights. I purchase this case back in early December along with my new, 32GB N7. The latest N7 is a dream and I highly recommend it to whoever is looking for an affordable, fast, and well-designed 7-inch tablet. Moving onto this case. It utilizes the equivalent of cardboard, felt, and fake leather to give a very professional, and appealing look. I enjoy how it looks and find it extremely easy to use (compared to a hard case, e.g. an Otterbox) and with mobility my number one priority i thoroughly enjoy this factor. To add, the ability to hold the device with the case, and several preset angles make it perfect for charging while watching movies, using while moving (and minimizing the risk of a fatal fall) and just about any other situation you could find yourself with it. Sadly, however, this is where the fun ends. I would have given this review a 4, maybe even a 5, but there are several startling flaws that need to be addressed. I know MoKo has issued replacements for past design issues, and they honor their lifetime warranty, so hopefully they will honor my requests at some point in the future. 1. The nyon "strap" used to keep the device in place when holding open-face is useless. While it does help keep the device in place, it will also simultaneously block your view of the devices right side, making it difficult to utilize the full screen real estate. I'm not sure why they didn't consider placing the strap in a manner that wouldn't block screen real estate (or instead leave a plastic hook somewhere else 2. This is the most pressing issue: The magnet is messing up the screen's ability to turn on and off properly. Sometimes you need to re-close and open the case, otherwise you'll get an "endless loop" of trying to unlock the device because it thinks its still under the cover! This has something to do with the magnets the case uses to tell the N7 its closed, and I'm not sure exactly where the flaw is here. 3. The pen attachment on the side is silly. Not only is it horrible for a stylus (my stylus was banging around so much it fell off) but just sits there as an eyesore 4. The Nexus 7 charging ports are blocked when using it with the OEM charging base. You will need to open the case to access them when placing it into the dock. My concerns may seem to trivial to others, but they're significant to me. Hopefully MoKo resolves them in the future. For all I know, maybe I have a dud. If you need an inexpensive, durable, professional looking case, this is the one for you. Just bear in mind, like a lot of things, it isn't perfect.

Fantastic Case & Customer Service
I need to start with one thing: the first case we received was defective. The magnet was not strong enough to trigger the sleep/wake function on the Nexus 7. If we fiddled with it, we could get it to trigger, but not reliably, and certainly not as it should in normal daily use. That said, MoKo/BSCstore made replacement absolutely painless, and is probably THE best and simplest experience I've had in exchanging a product anywhere. Their customer service definitely deserves praise for how they resolved this problem! The replacement product worked flawlessly and I would call it perfect if not for one tiny (literally) annoyance that isn't so easily fixed (since it involves another accessory). PROs: ++ Phenomenal customer service. A model for modern retailers. + Slim, minimalist cover without sacrifice. The cover packs in nearly every feature you could want without adding significant bulk to the svelte Nexus 7. + Solid Construction. To the uninitiated (me), everything, but the price, screams quality and care. I have no reason to doubt that my tablet is well protected in this cover. + Feature packed. Hand strap, grooves for upright viewing, stylus clip, speaker holes, and an integrated elastic band to hold the cover open. + Incredible Value. If I only saw the apparent quality coupled with the lifetime warranty, it would have left me guessing this would have sold for 2x-3x the price. CONs: - Luck of the draw. I suppose that, like me, you might get unlucky and wind up with a cover that doesn't work properly. HOWEVER, and I believe this needs to be emphasized, the retailer made the exchange absolutely painless and the new cover worked perfectly. I only mention this here because at the time I made this purchase (mid-September 2012), the manufacturer had apparently resolved the magnet issues. I wonder if I just got unlucky and wound up with one of the previous-gen covers that got mixed into the new stock. - Screen Protector Impression. The stitching on the hand strap had initially left an impression on the ArmorSuit MilitaryShield - Google Nexus 7 Screen Protector Shield + Lifetime Replacements in an area just off-screen, that ran the entire length of the strap. Others have mentioned this. What I haven't seen mentioned, however, is that several days later, after this particular screen protector had finished "curing", the strap-long impression was gone. What remained, however, was a single, tiny gouge in the screen protector. When I felt the strap, there was an end of the thread about 1/3 down the strap, that was hardened and quite sharp to the touch. I was able to pull it up, then clip it with nail clippers, resolving the problem. However, the damage to the screen protector is permanent. It's a tiny spot, on the bezel, so it isn't noticeable unless, like me, you get OCD about these kinds of things. If I could, I would dock the score half a point for this, but certainly doesn't deserve to be knocked down to 4 stars for this one tiny issue.

A great case, especially for the money.
See update below!! I just received my case for my Nexus 7 that I received for Christmas. The auto on works nicely. Unfortunately when I flip the cover all the way to the back, the tablet goes off again. So it's going back. I would just exchange it for another one, but the case didn't fit particularly well. The tabs that are used to hold the Nexus in place were would not completely secure the device, and I have no confidence that it will hold the tablet without it dropping out. So this will be going back, and I'll get a different case. Update on 1/3/2013 The entire time that I've been buying from Amazon, I don't think that I've ever seen customer service this good. Upon reading the initial review above, the seller left me a comment saying that they'd replace the cover immediately. I emailed him and let him know that I'd already put in for a return and refund, but that I appreciated the offer. In response, the seller told me to keep the original case, gave me instructions on how to remove the offending magnet so that I could use it as a temporary case, and shipped me a new one through first class mail. In addition, I was refunded the purchase price! Like I said, unbelievably good, A++ customer service. The case came yesterday, and it's perfect. The N7 fits perfectly in it, and the auto off works without problems. You can buy this case without worry. If there is something wrong with it, you'll be taken care of. In a world of increasingly poor customer service, it is refreshing to work with a seller that really does pay attention to customer feedback and satisfaction. I love the replacement case.

Best tablet cover, unbeatable price.
I must say I was pleasantly surprised by this product. I'm extremely detail oriented, so I tend to fixate on one small problem and become inordinately vexed by it. Usually this means that I'd eventually abandon one product for another that didn't have that individual problem... but one that would inevitably have another. Repeat. This MoKo Slim-fit case not only perfectly fit my Nexus 7 and made me feel comfortable about its safety, but holding the Nexus in this case somehow feels better than without the case. Again, usually I just view cases and sleeves as a necessary evil for the long term care of technology, but this time I am actively pleased to have it. I cannot emphasize enough how important that strap on the back is! I use it all the time. It feels great, secure, and uninhibited. Also, something about the way that the speaker lines up with the backside of the cover seems to bounce the sound back to my ears in a more effective, directed way. While holding the tablet in that position, with my hand in the strap, I can turn the volume down a few ticks without losing any clarity. It's a great battery saver while streaming Netflix. The spaces for the speaker also line up perfectly, so I do not feel any noticeable amount of sound is lost by using this cover. Speaking of turning the volume down, I should perhaps mention that this case leaves ample space to get to all of the buttons and cord ports without hindrance. The first two propped angles are perfect for me, and I find that I don't ever use the third (or any of the space between the second and third - it can be set anywhere between the two fairly securely). Of course, I almost never prop it up anyway and mostly just use the strap on the back. The only thing I can find to complain about relates to the pen/stylus strap. Firstly, I do strongly recommend the pen/stylus from MoKo, it is high-quality, cheap, and has drastically increased my enjoyment of the tablet. Less finger grease on the screen makes an enormous difference to viewing quality, and I only need to clean the screen when others use it without the stylus. But back to my complaint... Something about the strap allows the pen/stylus to flop around. It doesn't fall out, but the flopping bothers me. I think they should just have a second one so the pen/stylus goes through both loops and is secure that way, but my wife insists that simply moving the strap toward the middle of the pen/stylus would take care of the problem (can't just feed the pen/stylus farther into the loop because of where the corner of the case is). Anyway, it's a very minor complaint, and doesn't really apply to how this product interacts with the tablet itself so I'm sticking with 5 stars. If you get a pen/stylus to go with (which you should), just be prepared for it to flop around a bit. Hope this helps!
