My cigarette fuse was blown, so I had to replace it first to give the MX+ the needed juice. After plugging it in, the tool immediately informed me about new firmware. I updated it without a problem. The scanner works flawlessly and yes it's incredibly fast in transmitting data over bluetooth, real time information is as far as I noticed REAL TIME. Tested a couple of times on a Chevrolet Suburban 2500 from 2000 so far and I can't complain about anything. With the MX+ I'm able to read all the sensor data from my 4l80e transmission and that's exactly what I was specifically looking for.

Scanner works great with the FORScanLite App. Note: The App must be shut down and restarted for scanner to reconnect to iPhone if vehicle is shut down.

According to http://bluetoothobd2.com/obdlink-mx-all-add-ons-are-now-free

I have several OBD-II adapters. I have a generic ELM 327, an OBD link MX, several stand-alone scan tools, and now this one. I am happy to report that things have progressed. This adapter is very fast and with virtually no communication glitches. Only unknown for me is how it will behave on vehicles with protected gateways. I'll report back once I find out.

I looked at many different OBD2 units. As a retired mechanic, I was pretty clear what I wanted. This unit performs exactly as I hoped. There are numerous addons available also. It works perfectly in my 2009 Nissan Maxima, 2011 Nissan Xterra and my 2016 Ford E-450 Motorhome. I'm mostly wanted this for my Motorhome, but I am thrilled to see it works in all of my vehicles!

If you have any vehicle that is on its list of advanced diagnostics buy this now. Dont think about it I promise you will be more than happy with it. I have an 07 Yukon Denali with a service suspension error message in the dash cluster upon start up. To buy a scan tool that specifically said it would read those codes in the suspension computer was no less than $799.00 US. THIS WILL NOT ONLY PULL THE CODE IN QUESTION BUT IT WILL DEFINE IT. It says in the literature that it will not do this for all vehicles but anyone who has had a problem with a car that was more than a SES light will understand. It does all of this with the included app (comes when you buy this). A word of caution to my fellow shadetree mechanics out there the app in question runs slower than you would expect. (It took about a minute to 1 and a half to pull the codes in question and I had to update the firmware. But it will communicate with all and I mean all (even the computer that controls the heated seats.) of the modules on the car. It has bidirectional controls for my vehicle. I have used the snap on and matco scan tools. I have even used the GM Techtool2 (the factory scantool that covers my SUV) this one is not better or worse than them...but it works it really works. You will have to have some patience with it it runs fast but it's not instant response but this will get you where you want to go. Check the company's website to see if your vehicle is covered by the advanced features if it is then the sky is the limit. If not than it is a great tool to have in the toolbag. It will give you tons of diag data on the engine and real time monitoring (better than any other scantool at twice the price.) To the people at OBDLink thank you for the ability to work on my vehicle again. It truly is amazing that at $80.00 US I can see all of the info and use the bidirectional controls like a $10,000.00 US scantool. It is worth every penny.

Fast shipping and works very well with my car. They also provide a one time free add-on

This is exactly what I needed for my Gen 5 Camaro. The scanner sends a multitude of information to my IPhone and or IPad via Bluetooth, including INSTANT MPG that GM desired to omit from the 2014, 660 whp hot rod. This scanner took three minutes to install and tucks up and under the dash, out of sight and mind. I would definitely recommend this tool.

This little guy is a power house. Using it with either the torque app for logging or one of the pc based softwares it has no lag time and is very responsive. Easy to run and don’t even notice it plugged in down there. Many great applications this device can be used for.

Purchased for use with Bimmercode and worked like a charm! Connected easily and I have reprogrammed options for my 2015 BMW X5 numerous times. No need for a laptop, which was needed for me since I only own Macs and most programming is in Windows.
