This is the simplest car diagnostic tool I’ve ever owned. It has a small-size body with neat design, I can easily put it in my jacket pocket or in the glove box, and perform diagnoses to my 2014 Toyota Corolla whenever there is a need for reading codes or emissions test. To have diagnoses on vehicles, firstly find the OBD-II connector which is typically located under the dash near the steering column, and plug the unit cable into that connector. Then the code reader is able to interface with the computers of those OBD-II vehicles to report trouble codes. I looked up the code definitions in the included booklet, no need to take much time to search the internet hahaha. Also, I can retrieve my car’s I/M readiness status to determine if my car can pass the state emission program. All in all, this is a really great choice as the first code reader for people who wants to start do-it-yourself car maintenance.

I was sick of the CEL coming on after every shop visit and they told me to put a piece of tape over the light on the dash. So I bought it. This is an awesome tool and the quality is much better than I anticipated. It works fantastic on 2007 corolla. The use is very straight forward and intuitive. Within 10 minutes of playing with it, I got the most of its function down. I re-set the codes, and the annoying error light was finally off. Anyway, I would recommend reading the short instructions included with the unit and to make sure that when the meter is plugged into the car data port that the ignition key is inserted but in the off position. And the manual is a must. There could be a lot of things with this device that you need to check. It will help you to be the right position to check out the right area. Overall, I would give this tool a great rating.

I spent a lot of time on the internet looking for a moderately priced car code reader for my Ford, and finally I bought this AL200. I love the black-and-white LED screen (128 * 64 pixels) very much. It is great for displaying the diagnostic result clearly, even in the bright light. What’s more, this device doesn’t require batteries and its plug and play feature allows me to connect this code reader with my car in a direct way. It is no doubt that all the code reader can read the codes of engine, but not all code reader can find the DTC definition directly. I am impressed by that this code reader is equipped with built-in DTC look library. It means codes I find may even come with a suggested fix to eliminate hours of research or a visit to the mechanic. Overall, this is a practical code reader that performs many basic car diagnoses without any hassle.

After having read all the positive reviews I decided to purchase this unit. I was a bit skeptical (I read the negative reviews first 😜 ), but once put to use ... it immediately detected a third cylinder failure. How cool is this (well, not the failure but the knowledge of what it is!) 100% 5 ☆

I didn’t know what to expect from a $35 scanner but I have been very pleased. The cord is long. And the well-made unit doesn’t heat up. While I can’t compare this to other engine code readers, this one AL200 is easy to use and it generates codes and detail, which solved my issues I was having with my 2004 Ford. I didn’t realize when I bought it that it also can turn off engine lights, but it can and does. (If the source of the engine light continues to malfunction, the light comes back on.) I use this to find a trouble codes and I go to blogs on the Internet for people of that same problem. It beats the hundred dollar fee I used to pay for somebody to do a troubleshooting. Decent for the price, but I think Bluetooth would have more benefits.

The TOPDON AL200 code reader is very easy to use. I have limited experience diagnosing automotive codes, and I had no problem using this product. Read trouble codes on my BMW. Not only showed the codes, but also gave an explanation. This code reader seems more powerful at information retrieving compared with other code readers priced similar, as it can read codes more than generic codes. I would recommend this reader to everyone.

I didn’t think that I would have much use for the OBD2 scanner. But after using it for a few days, I find it very useful and don’t have to take my car to the mechanics to check for causes of car’s problems and turn off the CEL. The scanner has truly saved much time and money for me. I would recommend this to everyone I know! Thanks.

Have ever bought a code reader form local parts store at the price of $120 and it could do same functions as this AL200. Unfortunately, it was break down after 2 months using. I was really happy with buying this topdon al200 at a fraction of the price. Even if I have been using this for over 3 months, there were no any serious problems so far.

Bought the obd2 code reader because we were annoyed with the fact that we have to cost $60~120 to turn off CEL in workshop. This little diagnostic tool, only $24.99, can help us find out problems, clear trouble codes, retrieve I/M readiness status, and etc. Excellent!

I finally had an opportunity to use the scanner on my 2002 honda odyssey. A week ago, the engine check light on my dash came on. I would have assumed it was something insignificant, as it usually is, and ignored it until it went away as usual. But this time it wasn’t. so I stopped by the Honda dealership to see what the issue could have been. Of course, I was told there would be a $200 charge if I wanted them to pull the code which wouldn’t of have covered any labor or parts if needed. I didn’t accept the charge of merely checking the engine light, so I decided to leave and ordered the TODPON AL200 which arrived the next day. It’s a no brainer. The instructions are straightforward. It even has a description of what the code meant and which part most likely will have to be replaced. I did some further research online and was delighted to figure out the engine light is just a loose gas cap - it’s definitely worth the price 10 times over! I will recommend this product for anyone needing to pull codes when that check engine light comes on.
