You are kindly reminded that this adapter only supports M.2 NVME SSD. DO NOT support M.2 SATA SSD and M.2 AHCI SSD

I purchased this item for cloning purposes for M.2 SSD. I have a Desktop that I have installed a USB 3.1 GEN 2 4 Port type A expansion card. I also connected a 10 gbs Hub to the card. I connected this item to the hub but used a ADATA SX 8000 M.2 which I had removed from the Desktop from a prior upgrade. Right now I have a Samsung 960 Pro 512gb M.2 installed, but used the ADATA SSD just to see if this item would work as advertised. I have Acronis True Image 2019 installed on the Desktop. I started the cloning program on Acronis 2019 and it went like a charm and took about 5 minutes to complete with the item connected to the 10 gbs Hub. I plan to upgrade in the future to a 1tb Samsung 970 pro and I wanted to make sure that everything would work ok with this item and I am now certain that it will.

I was skeptical about it when I first saw this product. I bought a similar one previously and it didn't allow me to scan my nvme m key cards. It got me a bit frustrated; especially for work. So this card saved the day, I was able to get data I needed for work from a bad hard drive.

Works as advertised. They keep the price low because of its design simplicity, and lack of features. But it gets the job done. I used it to transfer files from a drive that would no longer boot.

Used to update my msi laptop nvme drive to a p1 crucial 500g. I had to contact crucial which was great service fast email with a file to install to work around the acronis software looking for their drive. It was simple clone procedure. I would buy it again.

Great little converter. Was able to clone my old 256g m.2 drive onto a bigger one. Inexpensive and very effective! Showed up clean, sealed, and not damaged in transit. Plug & play. My computer recognized the drive immediately and I was off to cloning within seconds.

The most obvious use for this is to put a larger capacity nvme boot drive in place of a smaller one. Simply put your shiny new large capacity nvme drive in this adapter and plug into a USB 3.0 port on your computer. Use Macrium Reflect or similar software to clone your existing nvme drive over to the new drive, adjusting partition sizes properly. Then power down your system, open the case, and take out your old boot drive and take your new boot drive out of this adapter and put it where your old boot drive was. Power back on and you should be sitting pretty.

I needed to upgrade a system with an m2 drive, and this made it quite easy. I wish I had this 4 years ago when I had another m2 drive die. That was not so easy of a migration.

I used to upgade from M.2 SATA to M.2 NVMe. Like some of the other reviewers, I also used Macrium Reflect to clone and then to extend my partition I used EaseUS partition Manager with no issues. However, once installed I recieived an “inaccessible boot device” error. After many failed attempts to resolve, I finally came across a post that said this was simply a locked hard drive issue and to just startup in safe mode and then restart machine. It worked!

I used these to read NVMe drives that had issues booting to the OS while in the laptops, or to do eDiscovery work on drives that had been removed and stored. This device worked well and has pretty good throughput when used in a USB 3.1 port. I was able to install a brand new NVMe drives in these, initialize the drives in DiskManager and then format. Makes a 512GB USB flash drive.

So I currently have a 256GB NVME PCI in my desktop and I needed to upgrade. I went out and bought a 2TB Intel 660P PCI NVME drive and was looking for a way to clone the smaller into the larger. After much searching, I decided on this little device as after reading the reviews, seemed simple. - I put the 2TB NVME drive into the adapter and plugged it in and the blue LED Lit up, but nothing detected. - I went into Disk Management and as soon as opening it requested to format as GPT Partition which I did - I installed and used Macrium, like do many else and I copied my C:\ to this new NVME drive which took about 30 min - I then wanted to increase the partition from the cloned 256 to my 2TB and downloaded EASEUS - Upon installing and using EaseUS, I could not get the damn thing to extend. After researching yet again, I found you cannot extend unallocated space that is not right next to your partition you want to extend. - I had to delete a few cloned partitions (image and other things from the desktop manufacturer). When I did this and tried to extend again, VIOLA! Extended in 30 seconds. - Powered down desktop and swapped the NVME drives and booted up without issue. I am now on my new NVME with nothing missed in between. IT is FABULOUS! Thank you QNINE for helping make this simple!
