Pretty good for its price
Got this as a standby phone and hence did not want to spend too much by going for some of the more expensive brands out there. My expectations were low but I must say I was genuinely surprised when I opened the box. The build quality and the overall packaging is fantastic. The phone feels like that it belongs to a segment several notches higher than it does. Here's a quick rundowns of what's good and whats not. +ve's DISPLAY : Fantastic display, almost OLEDesque. Even though its only 720p, images and videos look quite sharp. PERFORMANCE: Pretty decent so far. I have not tested some of the more demanding apps yet but whatever I have tried so far ran smoothly without any issues whatsoever. Tried multitasking and the phone has been able to handle it so far without complaining. SOUND: The speakers are quite good , although this is something that you will not use often . Thankfully it has the 3.5mm headphones jack and when I plugged in my headphones, it really sounded very nice. Whatever sound processing is in this phone really works. In fact the music sounds better on this phone when listening via headphones. than my Nexus 7 tablet. BATTERY: Obviously the battery is still quite new, but the phone can last the entire day on a single charge quite easily with moderate video watching and gaming. FEATURES: Comes with Fingerprint sensor and Face ID. What more could you ask for? -ve's CAMERA: The camera is average as best , but then again at this price point, you can't really expect much. Overall, I am quite satisfied with this phone. If you keep your expectations honest, you won't be disappointed.

So far? A solid buy for $120 - when it drops lower I'm buying backups
Day 3 - my new daily driver. Solid performance but someone needs to start selling some cases and quick. Look if you're broke and have TMobile buy this phone. Your friends will think it's a $600 phone haha. _------------ A quick review. Out of the box this thing was gorgeous and fully charged (26 hours later I'm still using that charge!!!) Quick me story. I had a Samsung s8. Screen cracked a few weeks back and then started "acting up" so I started the cell hunt. I didn't have a lot to work with money wise because of the holidays and I also always missed my note 5 size so I started looking for low cost 6+ screens. I landed on the Stylo 4 (Amazon Exclusive for $180) and I was not impressed. Lagged a lot and all the 'features' were basic. Seriously look up videos for that phone and everyone is talking how great the stylus pen is? I must be old I have been using a a stylus on my Notes and every further back. The Stylo is a decent phone but the specs weren't there for the price point. I have had a lot of "cheapies" in the last few years as backups and honestly was never a BLU fan except for the original Vivo+. Love Huawei (they can spy on me anytime) and the peeps at Xiaomi I was about to go with a Xiaomi when I saw the reviews for this and decided I'd give it a shot for $80 less than the Redmi 5 Plus. Funny thing is it's same exact body design. Makes you wonder.... But the Redmi specs are bit higher. But not enough to justify $80 more (Though I will most likely buy the REDMI PRO 6 as well) Anyways, didn't I say this would be quick lol. It's a $120 phone with a sleek look, fast responses, Oreo 8.1, great cams for regular folks, fast enough processor for gaming (not fortnite!) and I love the speaker location. Also Fingerprint and facial reg work very well. I'll keep this updated. One thing I have to say about BLU is i give them mad props for all the extras! 2 TPU cases, 2 screen protectors (one tempered feel), decent ear buds and a long charging cable. That Sylo 4? No protector, no earbuds (and the sound sucked), no cases and a seriously a 2 foot cord.

incredible phone for the money
I have one phone for work, and one for personal. My personal one is the Samsung GS9plus. I bought it because the photos are amazing. I bought this phone for work where I just needed a cheap phone that works. I was VERY impressed with the picture quality and the performance of the phone. The battery life is very good as well. With my phones side-by-side, it makes me wonder why I have a Samsung which costs 5 times as much. I am buying another one without hesitation for a colleague.

Great phone, and you should know...
Before I write my review, I'd like to list a couple things about the phone which aren't included in the Amazon description: 1. This is a dual SIM device with one nano SIM and one micro SIM slot. HOWEVER, if you wish to use a micro SD card, it will occupy the nano SIM slot, leaving only the micro SIM slot. 2. There's more stuff in the box than the description says! Inside the box there is: > A charging/sync cable and wall adapter > A set of earbuds > A plastic screen protector (pre-installed) > A glass screen protector (not installed) > A quick-start guide > Two thin, plastic phone cases (one clear and one with some abstract art on the back - I included a picture of the case with this review) Now, as far as the actual review goes; this is a very nice phone for the price! I'm a long-time fan of Blu. I prefer mid-range unlocked vanilla android phones that aren't too expensive to replace -> And that's exactly what this is. The screen is amazing! I came from a 1080p phone, and I was expecting this elongated 720p screen to look noticably worse. It really doesn't! It's crisp, clear, and the small bezels are quite nice. If you don't like the way the display wraps around the front camera, you can enable a gesture in the settings to disable that. But I've found that I quite like it. The camera is good, and it even includes facemoji! The battery is excellent. The lowish resolution screen and low-power processor probably help this. I've had no problem using it all day. However, the phone doesn't feel sluggish at all! In fact, it scored right at 8,000 on the 3D Mark "Slingshot (non-extreme)" benchmark. The phone runs pretty much stock Android 8.1. The only changes I've noticed are a "clear apps" button on the recent apps screen and a new battery saving mode called "extreme" something-or-other. I haven't tried it. All-in-all, I'd say this is an excellent phone, especially if you can get it on sale for $100 like I did. I've only had it for 2 days, though, so I'll be sure to come back and change the review if I run into any major problems.

45 day break in EDIT : Listen .. if you're a parent , senior, smart teenager, this phone is great.
So far, I have gone through four generations of Blu phones. Two of them being the studio and two of them being the Vivo. Out of all the budget smartphones I have ever owned, this one surpasses my expectations by far. Although I have only had it for two weeks, the operating system is very stable. The 3gigs of onboard memory seem to have no problem switching between applications, I have no lag or freezing. The operating system itself is robust. The phone itself is made of quality materials, and the notch display - although a little bit gimmicky, is very effective after time. In the world of cases, you will be disappointed that the aftermarket appears to have not one single case available for this phone as of the 1st of January 2019. (Edit, see below).however, the phone does come with one clear silicone case, and one that has abstract art on it. So what I have done is left the phone in its silicone case and it looks wonderful. for only $150 this phone is absolutely fantastic and for the average to above-average user - they will find incredible value for this. If you want to make an amazing gift to your parents or grandparents and bring them into the smartphone community, this is a wonderful way to begin at all. The ease of the operating system, the speed of the processor, and the build quality of this phone are all very nice.... Now as for the the sound quality - coming from the twin rear speakers: it is above-average. Not fantastic, but totally acceptable. The speakers are rear firing, and facing out from the back they create pretty decent sound. I cannot speak on the fingerprint reader as I find any security on my phone obtrusive. The pictures that the camera produces are on par with any average smartphone. Totally usable and totally acceptable by sharing and showing standards. It is almost unbelievable that you get this much phone for the money. I will update this at the 2-month mark, as that is when the phone really shows its bones.... But thus far I can only give it my highest ratings and congratulate Blu. Micro USB.. no problem. The standard today is USB-c but transmission and data rates are still fine. And lucky you! you probably have a lot of micro USB cables laying around the house 🙂 I mean what the heck do you expect for a unlocked smartphone less than 150.00?? With specs close to an Iphone, it blows my mind people spend more. And I read a review about the operating system. In my opinion, it is modern, fully functional and will be relevant for at least two years. If you make it to the two year mark with this phone, then truly you will know what quality and value can be, thanks to Blu. In all my years as a tech guy even in the army, this device is worth every penny and I stand by my review 100% I do not work for Blu , I do not get paid or compensated for anything. I write this as a thank you to them for saving me and my elderly mother money and allowing us to have nice phones we can enjoy and afford. (I have now purchased 3 of these.) For one new iPhone you could get 7 of these for your friends and family that would love to have them, if they weren't jaded children anticipating something 500+$ This phone is the KING of the budget smartphones oh, and if you are ever in a jam and needed an unlocked phone immediately, you could just keep this one on deck and be good to go for a very long time. Oh did I mention that the battery lasts all day long and then some, and I'm a super user 😋😋😋. again, I will edit the review at the 2-month Mark but so far I give this phone a solid A. Edit : so it's been about 45 days with the phone. And I continue to only praise it. I keep reading the highest rated comment about blu not upgrading their operating system. As I said in my review before, who really cares about that? This operating system will be totally usable for at least 3 2 years. I've also read comments that say that the hardware messes up the experience. Okay whoever you are out there.. what in the heck are you expecting for $150. I'm 40 years old, middle class, I use the phone more than a regular person.. and I say once again I recommend this phone absolutely. If you don't like it, you can return it as well, what do you have to lose?? Also as of the last week you can buy an extremely nice case to fit this phone. It was just released about a week ago and I compare it to a Spigen... It has a nice internal bumper as well as a solid rubber shell . It is the case that you want and it's only 14 bucks. Tudia case for vivo xl4, they sell it on Amazon right now. So, get the phone, and get a black case.. you spent $180 and you have a fantastic piece of technology. Don't believe the other headlines, especially the one about Wi-Fi. That is definitely not a phone issue. The phone cannot connect to your home internet because it's not on the same radio band. That is a very easy fix done through your Wi-Fi router settings. Not everyone is going to have a great experience - but I would say for the most part these phones perform excellent. After 45 days I still grade this phone A.

Blu did a good job. Great price.
It’s an Android 8.0 Phone. It was $99 when I got. Even at $130 it’s worth it. It has a big screen. Runs decent at games. Good ram and storage. Fingerprint is fast enough. Great for a kid, family memeber, friend. Looks modern. SD card slot/Unlocked. Good camera. Good speakers. Just know you won’t get any after support like updates. Other then that I say it’s worth it. Can’t complain. You can do FAR worst at this price point seriously.

Best Value, Best Build Quality, Best Specs
BLU Vivo XL4 -- The Best smartphone from Blu, a great combination of value and specs. An awesomely bright display, quick and snappy performance, large screen..just wished it was 1080P. But you won't be disappointed...give BLU Vivo XL4 a try, you will love it.

Great first impressions, Great USA made Product
First off, My photo DOESNT give the screen justice. it looks fantastic. Coming from an iPhone 7 plus that I had for the last 2 years, and more recently Samsung Galaxy Note 5, that I had for 2 weeks. this feels really good at the price point and with very comparable performance. Not as premium feeling in tha hand as the other two, but those two phones cost at least $400 more when they ere brand new. I cant speak for the support of blu. But the first impressions are great. Pros: NEAR STOCK ANDROID 8.0 OREO EXPERIENCE Modern design Large Screen Great looking display Fast Charging Regular USB Cool looking box (LOL) Cons: 3.5 headphones jack No wireless charging No NFC

Blu knocks it out of the park! Great product, incredible price!
First, thank you Amazon for delivering the phone in under 30 hours! I’ve been a big fan of blu for about 5 years now since I picked up one of their cheaper models while in Mexico - I decided to get this phone because of the high Antutu scoring and features like FaceID, front/back cameras and excellent reviews its received. Sure it’s not an iPhone X or a Samsung Galaxy S9+, but that’s a given. The phone is fast! I promptly set up FaceID and it works great! In low light, with my glasses on, with my baseball cap on, in bright lights, I even tried it with a friend of mine who looks a lot like me but we couldn’t fool FaceID! :) I restored a backup of my LG G5 onto the Blu phone and everything is running great - no hiccups, no problems, nada. Nova Launcher also restored easily and makes the device look incredible (as expected) - I played around with the camera and was happily surprised to have a front facing flash/light! I didn’t see that in the reviews I read! The fingerprint reader is super fast! Similar to the Honor 8 I used to have, or the iPhone 8. I just can’t get over how great the screen is, it’s bright, large and crisp! Again, it’s not comparable to the $1,000 top of the list phones, for $129, this phone is incredible! Even if the OS isn’t updated, this phone is going to be incredible for the next year or two! Great job Blu! PS. I use this with Mint Mobile (they run on TMobile networks) and get great speeds!
