Great saw
I was a bit apprehensive about purchasing this saw after I saw other reviews regarding the auto oiler not working. I decided to give it a shot anyway and I ham quite satisfied. I used this saw for cutting logs. It was used for approximately four hours on the first day and it worked perfect. I had no problems at all with the oil. It was easy to adjust the tension. The saw was very quiet and did not overheat at all. I am definitely a satisfied customer.

I LOVE this chainsaw
I LOVE this chainsaw. I purchased this in June 2016. Used it most of July and August 2016. I am a 60-year old woman who likes to do yardwork on my time schedule, and not wait for my tired, old, grumpy husband to help out. This chainsaw is lightweight for me to use. I live in the middle of a forest, and needed to cut down 6 medium sized trees with 6-10" trunks, with numerous branches. I purchased an extra bottle of chain oil, as several reviewers recommended using the oil specifically made for this chainsaw. After all the cutting was done, I went to my local chainsaw store and purchased the tiny metal file sticks to sharpen my blades. It's tedious work, but I got it accomplished. I love my saw and now the husband wants to buy his own to help in the yard. Yes, it is electric, and I knew it would not be a million-pounds heavy like the gas eaters are.

Great Saw... Give It A Few Minutes To Break In First, Is The Key
A great saw, first time I've tried an electric, and I have 30 years of chainsaw experience. Key point here, as with any new product of any type, is letting it break in. Give the chain time to stretch, let the new parts work a little before you really go at it. After a few minutes of that, the chain rolled smoothly, with no noise, and cutting was a breeze. Self oiler worked well, and if you use the bar and chain oil, which pours like glue, you don't have to worry about leaks, as opposed to using just SAE 30 weight motor oil, which will leak. See Picture Attached: I went to a local sawmill and purchased some two-year seasoned white oak 4"x6"x16' square posts, the sawmill couldn't sell, and so gave me a nice price for firewood. This electric saw cut through these tough and heavy posts with no effort. In the picture, I had cut 16 of those posts, only stopping twice to sharpen the cutting teeth. Checked the bar/chain oil and it had only used half. I'm very pleased, and I found when I went to Lowe's for the bar/chain oil, they have a cross reference book that lists this model, and Lowe's carries replacement chains and sharpening files for it. Very convenient!

Worth every penny! Having fun with my new toy!
American made! Family operation out of Illinois! Yeah! My husband and I burn wood as secondary heat during winter months. I like this saw a lot! Even my husband said that I "did good" when I bought it-he was even impressed! Great price with great features. 16" bar perfect size with right size motor to power it. Handles great, weight is just right. I like the handle and placement of safety button, fits my hand well. We have several wood piles of varying size wood. I like to put on my headphones on and stand at the piles cutting wood. I leave the 10inch oak and greater for my husband, just because I don't want to chance wrecking my new toy. I keep it stored with bar upright so have not had any problems with oil leak. Enjoy!

I'm a believer!
Love it! cuts just as well as my 16" gas-powered saw. no more mixing, no more priming, pulling, adjusting idle speeds, hard starting, stalling in the middle of a job, etc. just plug it in and start cutting! it even had good power when powered through a 100' regular-duty extension cord.

Well worth the purchase.
This chainsaw does everything I need it to. I had several downed trees from hurricane Irma, and this chainsaw cut thru them no problem. Make sure to read the directions, as they are spot on when telling the user that the new chain will stretch and you should initially tighten it frequently. Made quick work of my water oak roughly 12" in diameter and the Maple which is closer to 20". I also own a Earthwise corded electric mower which I am very satisfied with as well. Great job Earthwise on providing a quality product at a very affordable price. I see people put they were not paid for their review, so I want to say as well I was not paid nor did I receive a discount or any other compensation for this review, I am just a happy customer.

cuts wood great. But those two oil reservoirs---it's as if there's ...
Five stars for Earthwise's customer service since they sent me a new chainsaw, BUT . . . three stars for the saw. Here's why: Put oil in, no oil comes out. Ever. Not while it's sitting around and not while it's running. This would save on oil, but ruin the saw. Both saws have exactly the same problem, which appears to be a completely different problem than that observed by others, namely, oil leakage. So my two saws (for the price of one) are very clean, but if I don't oil the chain myself, they would self-destruct. My solution is to oil the chain and bar using an oilcan, which isn't at all convenient, but it works, and the saw works very well on that basis. Smooth, reasonably powerful, cuts wood great. But those two oil reservoirs---it's as if there's no outlet, no drip (or whatever) to the bar and chain. It's just a closed bottle that happens to be attached to the saw. So forget about "automatic" oiling. You are the oiler.

Easy Parts Replacement
I was unable to use my gas chain saw due to pacemaker restrictions so electric was my only option. After reading negative reviews about poor oiling systems and chains coming off I was reluctant but desperate. The fact that this saw used Oregon bar & chain got me to take a chance on it. To say that I was pleasantly surprised would be a huge understatement. The saw is the same size as my gas saw and while slower, had no trouble cutting the 30 inch 100 foot tree in the picture as well as 2 more 18 inch trees. The only time a threw a chain was when some twigs got under the chain. The saw is easy to maintain and best of all the oiler is a pump that puts oil through the bar when the motor runs instead of dripping onto the chain. I use regular bar oil and have not noticed any leaking at all under the saw.

Saw-eet!
Just put oil in it and start sawing! I used this chainsaw to cut up a large dead limb that came down from an ash tree in our front yard after some thunderstorms rolled through town. I did the job in my driveway, and this saw did great. Chain tension wasn't an issue, as I checked it after each cut, and the chain just ripped through the tree limb like a boss. No chain oil comes with this saw, but any hardware store will have it. I considered a Stihl gas chainsaw, but couldn't justify paying that much for something I won't use very often. This was a great buy.

Big time pleased!
This saw is awesome! I have it for a year now, and just replaced the chain for the first time and I have been cutting down some large trees and chopping them up. I have not had any problems whatsoever and if you have electric box and an extension cord this is a much better choice than fiddling with a gas saw. I have attached the latest tree project photos which was a 36" diameter elm tree that I spent a few hours on continuously - the saw never overheated or had a lack of power. The one wish would be an 18 or 20" chain model, but for most jobs the 16" is fine. Btw, I purchased a generic chain at Home Depot but went from a 57 link to a 56link (Power Care Y56 ) as this gives you still tension adjustment after chain stretch. This review is unsolicited and I would buy again and will highly recommend!
