Prefer over my defunct 6-year-old Rowenta
Although it lasted six years, my Rowenta puffed its last burst of steam and I wanted to replace it with a reliable and less expensive iron. This PurSteam iron reminds me of the GE model I grew up with, only better. I've bought Black & Decker and Rowenta steam irons, and would rank the PurSteam with B&D as the best I've used. When I took the PurSteam out of the box, I was surprised that it has a nice, comfortable heft despite its size. On the trial run, I used less time and steam to iron than I did with the Rowenta. The settings and steam/dry controls are easy to use. The vertical steam feature was another selling point. If you need a practical and excellent iron, go with this one.

Great Iron!
I am impressed with this iron! It has enough weight to remove wrinkles, but not too heavy to use for longer periods of time. The soleplate is smooth and glides along fabric. Prior to purchasing this iron, I had a concern that the temperature selector is located below the handle. This iron replaces a different iron that also had the temperature selector below the handle. My fingers hit and changed the temperature selector nearly every time I picked up that iron. After using this Pur Stream iron several times, I am thrilled that I have not hit the temperature selector once! Typically I do not spend a lot of time reading user manuals. I was happy that I spent the time reading Pur Stream's manual because I found the section “Advice for Good Ironing” worth reading. It described how to iron different fabrics (blended, silks, velvet, wool). The iron is an incredible value for the price. I had spent more money on a brand name iron that did not perform half as well as this one. Highly recommend.

Well made
This is definitely a premium item. I am honestly really surprised about the quality based on how much I paid. I have bought and returned a few different ones already that were in the same price range and they all felt like they were going to fall apart in a month. This one is absolutely not the same case. I am so happy I found it and am an extremely satisfied customer.

Very Nice
This is really nifty. I’ve only crappy irons before. This one works fast – it clears wrinkles with one pass. It’s a good weight – not too light or too heavy. The steam function works great – no water dripping out of the holes! (My last iron left big water streaks on everything.) And it’s a good value – I’d have expected this to go for $70+ easily.

Great Horizontal or Vertical Steam
I've used this iron three or four times, and it delivers better steam than my previous Rowenta. This is a heavier, larger iron than others I've had; so I hesitated buying it. However, it didn't long at all to become accustomed to either feature. The only drawback I see is that the rotating temperature dial is large and it is difficult to read. I have to use both hands to rotate it and bend down or hold the iron above the ironing board to see it. The transparency of the tank is better than several I saw, and it holds a generous 14 ozs. of water. The iron is pre-tested so may have condensation in the tank. Do not use distilled water. So far, I am very happy with my purchase.

BEST iron
My old iron just recently stopped working, so I purchased this one, and the only thing I wish was that I got it sooner! It is so easy to control the thermostat to make sure I'm on the right heat for all different clothing fabrics. It provides an extremely even iron and is such good quality. I often have a hard time getting all the spots on my clothes and end up with at least one pleat at the end, but I have not had that problem with this iron at all which is awesome!

I love this steam iron!
I gave the "light weight" feature rating 3 stars, because it is actually a solid, fairly heavy iron. However, that's one of the best things about it, that is a bit heavier than irons I've owned in the past. I gave it three stars, because it's not lightweight and that is what they are asking me to rate. This is the best iron I've owned in the past 30 years, without a doubt.

A huge improvement for me!
This iron is amazing to me. It replaced a 10 year old steam iron that was on it's way to not working at all. This is much lighter, easier to use, heats fast, and the steam works great! What else can I say except that I really do like this iron.

Plenty of steam, large tank, easy fill
I like this iron. Large water tank, plenty of steam, eady to fill. Cord is heavy and iron is not light weight. Easy to use controls. Mine came new, with no scratches or residual water in tank, like some reviewers have said. Maybe they received one that was returned and due to quality control, didn’t receive a new iron.

Terrific product.
My wife is 100% pleased with the iron. Performs well on various fabrics with no problems. Easy to use. Steam function is great. Just a wonderful iron at a great price. Highly recommended. Also had some questions and contacted the customer service. Prompt replies. What a wonderful experience dealing with folks who truly care about their customers.
