Good cellphone telescope adapter
Wow This worked out to be super cool. It came in box - with easy to use and understand instructions. I have Smasung Edge 7 phone and I was able to hook it up to the adapter and mount the adapter with phone on the telescope and it worked! Took first shot of a distance tower and it came out good couldn't take pictures of moon or other planets or stars because of windy and bit of cloudy night.. but I am cannot wait to get the calm and clear sky night with full moon. I am sure I will be super happy to see it and photograph it right away on phone It works with ANY smartphone Its build solid and grip is also very good - once its lock - its lock..it wont move your phone or slide it up and down or side to side... makes it so much easier for kids to view and have a good experience. If you are amateur or hobbyist like me, please get this one - I recommend it.

Great value!
This is a great value. The eyepiece clamp and bracket is metal. Plastic here would be subject to deforming when the clamp is tightened, but this one seems very rigid...Holds tightly to the eyepiece of the Celestron 15x70 binoculars for which I bought the adapter. The rubber pads are a nice touch, though not really needed in this case as the eyepieces of these binoculars have a rubber surround. The slot on the bracket for the phone cradle/clamp is long enough to let me clamp to the phone I am using (Galaxy S4) well below the power and volume buttons on its sides towards the end with the camera. The phone cradle/clamp opens in one directions from the eyepiece bracket, so with a phone that has a centered camera you must rotate the eyepiece bracket to line up the camera, but there seems to be plenty of range of adjustment with the slot in the eyepiece bracket to do that. The binoculars I use have the type of rubber cup that can be folded back for use with eyeglasses or a camera. However one cannot clamp onto this part of the cup when folded back, you have to mount the adapter just past it, still on the rubber eyepiece surround but now on a single layer of rubber. Fortunately, this adapter holds the camera just far away from the eyepiece bracket to let you do this and still completely seat the camera in the cradle/clamp. Once everything is adjusted and tightened, the mount holds the camera securely to the camera. Couple notes. Obviously the style eyepiece clamp will only fit an eyepiece up to the diameter of the opening in the bracket. This just does fit over my Celestron Skymaster 15x70 eyepiece. Also, the mounts eyepiece bracket needs to attach past the folded back cup rubber and the mount can then run into the pivot that attaches the binoculars 2 halves together. To address that I mount the adapter to the eyepiece with the individual diopter adjustment with that eyepiece screwed or "corrected" all the way out. I then focus the binocular using the image on the phone. Although this has nothing to do with the performance of the mount...with the camera touching the binocular eyepiece, I was surprised at how little of the phones field of view the view the binocular filled in normal mode. I need to do a digital zoom of 1.5-2.0X in the camera to mostly fill the view. This is related to the size of the eyepiece lens on the binocular and size of the camera sensor. It also means any picture or video I shoot this way has reduced resolution by the zoom factor. Of course I can simply shoot at 1.0X and edit out the black around the view later.

Works great with Samsung Galaxy
I own a samsung s8 plus phone and Wingspan Optics Explorer High Powered 12X50 Monocular and this product works great with it. Could be a little tricky to setup the whole thing, but you'll get used to it in a while. No complaints with the built quality and the product is light weight as well. Highly recommend to all photographers.

From the newest iPhone 7 Plus to the Samsung Galaxy this fixture holds them all & now we can get great high mag photos whenever
This was purchased to use at work. We have low-tech microscopes where I work, however, there are times when we need to snap a photo. Since everyone has a phone with a camera, we decided to purchase this to mount on our bench-top microscopes at work to grab photos when we need them. From the newest iPhone 7 Plus to the Samsung Galaxy this fixture holds them all & now we can get great high mag photos whenever we need them. It's a solid, metal built model that I highly recommend to anyone looking.

A must have for space enthusiasts
My son got a telescope for Christmas and a friend of his recommended we buy this for him also. Don't bother spending more on other adapters, this one is very well constructed with precise controls for the phone grip and lens grip. Both are padded and hold securely without jiggling around while you are moving the telescope. It is very easy to align the phone camera and there is enough room to move the bracket up or down the lens about a quarter inch if needed for picture width. The frame is well made and sturdy, so there is no worry of it flexing or breaking. Very sturdy and quality feel. Hard to believe it is so much cheaper than the other options of which many seem less elegant of a solution.

This mount works extremely well if you use it correctly.
This mount works great for afocal imaging using a smartphone, but it needs to be used properly. I've used it with a Samsung S9+ and a Samsung S5. It holds both phones just fine without interfering with any of the buttons including the dreaded "Bixby" button on the S9+. While it can be used on a phone with a case, a case usually gets in the way. It's essential that the phone's camera lens be lined-up perfectly with the scopes eyepiece. It's also helpful to use a camera app that lets you control ISO, focus and exposure manually. I use "Camera FV-5" with my older "backup" Samsung S5 and get excellent results. Afocal photography can be tricky and is not for a beginner, but if you have experience with digital imaging with telescopes or microscopes this mount works very well and can produce excellent results.

Not bad for the price
My phone is on the large side (iPhone 8+). I wish there was a quick detach/attach instead of everything being in a fixed position. It is cumbersome to unscrew to remove (or reattached) it. If you’re going to use it for a telescope/microscope or something in a fixed spot it’s definitely worth the money but it can be tricky if you’re using it with binoculars. I was using it on my 10x42 binoculars to take birding pictures and it got frustrating after a little while.

Best cell phone adapter EVER!!
Wow!!!! I only now have had a chance to use it and let me say, this is such an amazing accessory. I own a pair of Celestron 25x70 binos and I attached this beauty with ease to the left eyepiece. Fits snug my phone DOES NOT MOVE once in place. I think the best part is the cushion that is provided so the phone doesn't get damaged by scratches or if its closed too tightly. Thanks Vankey!!
