Got this for aquarium use. Working good for me.

I was happy to see its almost an instant reading with this meter. No waiting for results at all. You can go from one source to another and it reads fast. All house holds need one of these from safety. I am getting one for travels as well. Some bottled water is just tap water and now you can tell!

This tool is FANTASTIC...... now let's talk about the initial mistake I made. We have a drilled well and run a dirt filter system with 3 ten inch sediment filters in a row. All 3 filters are 10 micron. My filters were quite old, so I ran this tool initially and got 105 or so on the reading. Grrrrrrrr...... So I changed out all 3 filters and ran the test again and it was only down in the 80's. So I fired up one of our showers and just let 'er run for 20 minutes. Did another test of the kitchen tap water, and it's at 64 ppm, which is damn close to spring water quality. So if you're already filtering your water, make sure you change out old filters and really clear the system first to get a true test. It is also CRITICAL to have a couple bottles of store bought spring water to rinse the test probes off between tests. Yeah, I did the unthinkable and read the directions. LOL Good luck.

This thing blows through batteries. So much so that they sent 2 new batteries with the unit. I do not recommend this item. UPDATE: The seller saw my original review and sent me a new meter. This one works the way it should. I must have just gotten a bad first meter. They made it right and I absolutely recommend them. A+

I've been having some health issues with my stomach and digestion since we stopped buying bottled water. Well, it was getting expensive and we were told that the faucet water was safe to drink where I live so I have been drinking it. I bought this meter because I really needed to know if I am poisoning myself and my family. Let me say this, it was one of the best decisions I've made. I'm definitely switching back to bottled water!! Great and compact product that is a must have for any family. I highly recommend you get one.

First, I gave it 4 stars for accuracy because I don’t have a calibrated meter to compare it to (everything else got 5 stars). But, I tested my RO system output against the tap water feeding it and the results were dramatic. My tap water registered 438 ppm versus 28 ppm for the RO system. I was changing my filters every 6 months, and they are quite expensive. I found that after nearly 10 months, my filters are still working very effectively. This TDS meter is going to save me a great deal of money while assuring me that my RO water is pure. I’d recommend that anyone who is interested in their water quality purchase one of these. It’s easy to use and has a very readable digital display with a built in backlight. One point, this meter registers “total dissolved solids.” It will not detect pathogens such as bacteria or viruses.

Great value This inexpensive TDS tester works quite reliably to my surprise. Seems very accurate in my experiments with different qualities of water and filtering. Comes in a nice leather case.

I knew my home water was dirty, but didn't know how dirty until I purchased this convenient tester! Works wonderfully & easily. Within 5 minutes I knew how dirty my water was, & rectified it by calling the water company the next day. Within a few days we had great tasting water finally. No more bottled water at this home.

I really loved how accurate and reliable this product was for water testing and how easy it was to use! The digital feature makes It super precise. You can actually see it working! It was also super portable and came in a really convenient and easy to carry case. I would VERY highly recommend this product to anyone looking for quick and easy and most importantly, highly accurate, digital water testing. You won't be disappointed!

This being my first time testing water for my health and safety, I was shocked to discover the pollution in my town's water supply. I tested this device on purified water from a vending machine and tap. The vending machine gave a result of 15 part per million total dissolved solids from 2 tests. The tap water was a drastic difference. 300 ppm. I will never drink from the tap again. Even with a faucet or jar filter, I doubt the water would be drinkable. The EPA states 500 ppm TDS is the maximum for drinking water, but I think anything over 50 ppm is polluted. The human body can not filter all those metals after 8 glasses of water a day, in my opinion.
