Great Product

I burn a lot of DVDs & CDs and own several programs that need to be installed from an optical drive. Therefore, a computer without an optical drive has been useless to me. However, a situation has arrived where I needed a 2-in-1 computer with detachable monitor that I could use as a tablet. A friend gave me a birthday present a couple weeks ago, a new Surface Book to meet that requirement, but there was no optical drive. I searched online for portable drives. Sine my new computer has USB 3.0 ports, I wanted a drive that would take advantage of the ports. This seemed to be the ideal situation. I ordered through Amazon Prime and got free one day delivery. It came direct from the manufacturer. I plugged it in and played a CD with no problem. I had to install some software to play the DVDs, but fortunately I already own that software and the drive installed it perfectly. I then watched a DVD movie and it was perfect. What a great drive.

Does the job

Was very fast from ordering to receiving the item. It arrived in a well packed box. The box contains the USB 2.0 Portable External Slot CD/DVD-RW Burne & instructions. Its very simple to use just plug in and let you system install the driver. Once is installed it's ready to use.The USB cable is integrated. I am extremely satisfied with this device and highly recommend this to those that require it. It is a well designed external optical reader/writer.

Very useful external DVD drive

Great compact size and very useful external DVD drive, especially perfect with today's super thin laptops that no longer comes with built in units. Also works with many tablets. Product works perfectly right out of the box! good products at reasonable prices. I highly recommend this CD/DVD burner/player.

Very useful!

The external CD burner/player has worked well so far. It isn't particularly fast but it's fast enough for the price and for what I want. I am using it to go through lots of CDs on which hundreds of my photographs have ben stored for several years now, so that I can transfer some of them on to my lap-top and on to the Transcend external drive that I also bought from Amazon.

Love to use it

This dvd driver work with my note pads very nicely. It is slim and light weight so it is easy to carry. It work very fast like built in DVD player. Another important fact is it can burn cd. So I can store many items in disk and save it. There are many other similar product on amazon but this one looks better quality with low price. I use it few times and happy with the performance. It also come with nice box which is great for gift. I like it the way it work.

This is something that I personally will not use to its full potential. I have connected it to my laptop which is updated to Windows 10. Using a VLC media player I was able to play a CD and a DVD easily. The device was quickly recognised. Having a Tablet that runs on updated Windows 10 I tried it on that but owing to not having a compatible player had no success. I installed VLC media player from their website knowing it had worked on the laptop and was successful in getting a result that I had hoped for. The cable that is included could be longer but of course one could use an extension if need be. As yet I am only using USB 2 so I am unable to comment on the ability to work quicker on USB 3. It is very smart in appearance light in weight and so far I find it to be excellent in playing mode on both sound and vision. Having not used it yet to record I am unable to comment but cannot imagine it not doing the job as successful as playing. Anyway, it works as it advertised

Cheap and good quality

Very small CD/DVD writer, compact and lightweight. I bought it for my Linx 10 tablet, even thought it acts as a laptop it has no DVD reader in it. Unfortunately, my tablet's micro USB port doesn't give off enough electricity to power it, just kept making noises and blinking. After plugging into my main PC it worked flawlessly. Both read and write speeds are good, two times as fast as my previous quite expensive DVD writer in my old PC. It has one downside, the USB power cable cannot be unplugged from it.

Love it. Very useful. I've just completed downloading my CD collection of 700+ CDs, many of which were double or treble-packs. Yep, all good. My only problems were with iPlayer and cataloguing the CDs to make sure that the two or three CDs in a set were listed under one title rather than two or three. The Disc Drive did need a little tap occasionally if it got stuck, but most episodes of a CD sticking were due to it being dirty or damaged. Now I have it for playing DVDs and the mammoth task I've set myself to play through a couple of hundred sampler CDs picking out tracks that I like and download those. Again, a problem with iPlayer - I can't find a way to download selected tracks only! That would be useful for me just now. It's good at choosing the right software for the task. VG

There are so many like products with fake reviews it was getting hard to pick. I wanted a USB 3.0 DVD R/W device that I could use when my BR drive balked at DVDs (LG and Asus both have this problem). Rather than fight with them, I figured I'd spend $30 and plug one in when I was dealing with a DVD. Well, this model had a few reviews that looked real, and I decided to give it a shot. The unit came, I plugged it into a 3.0 port, and it was immediately recognized by Windows 10, and it very quickly recognized and read a DVD that neither the LG or Asus readers would recognize. It just worked. Speeds seem to match their claims. It's quiet and light and the cable tucks into a slot on the bottom - all around nice package at a decent price.

My old disc drive was out of work. It was loading but the disc on my computer didn't show up. I knew I need to get a new one .So i went on a search to find a drive that sold by the Amazon warehouse and has 4 stars or up in reviews. Forturnnately i find it.This external DVD drive features with great performance and much cheaper price. Besides burning I also use it for data backup and install system,all works very well. strongly recommend.
