Very durable. I have no doubt this thing is ultra secure. Fits my Glock 17 with 33 round mag. Fits under my car seat. Love it. Also comes with a cool Hornady Security foam key holder that I clipped to my range bag.

I had previously purchased 2 lock boxes from other manufactures. The locks on both of those boxes eventually stopped working. I didn't want to keep purchasing lock boxes every year so I was looking for a better quality box. The Hornady box uses a different locking mechanism and key than the cheaper boxes which appears to function better and seems to be more reliable. The box itself is sturdy and well made. Its also slightly larger and heavier than the cheaper boxes were. The cable is thick and the connection point is strong. With any of these types of devices you have to keep in mind that they really only provide some deterrence to theft. With enough time and effort any of these types of devices will fail so you should not depend on this box alone as the only means of security. This box was around $15 more than the cheaper boxes that I bought previously but I think that it was worth the higher price especially if I don't have to replace it every year. I would definitely recommend this lock box.

This lock box is the real deal. It was heavier than I expected. Very solid built like a tank. This baby would be very difficult to pry open and the recessed barrel lock is pry proof unless the thief is carrying around professional tools! I don't have children but this box will keep them out and your weapon safe. If you are looking for a lock box that is at the top of the heap this is the one.

I bought this for when I go into a business, and I cant wear my EDC, like at the doctors office. The cable secures to the seat anchor, and the safe is tough as nails. Easy to open and lock. One thing I like, if you lose your keys, Hornady will NOT issue new ones, so keep the spare in a safe or such( not the Hornady safe).

Excellent quality. I was actually surprised. I bought if for less than 40 bucks. In my opinion, this product is worth that and then some all day long. I bought this immediately after a co-worker of mine had his truck broken into here in Dallas and his pistol, as well as a significant amount of property stolen. If you live in a big city, demand on excersizing your God given and Constitutionally guaranteed rights, I highly recommend some type of safe or lock box in your vehicle. If you had the right tools, the cable could be cut but that likelyhood is unlikely. Cheap insurance and peace of mind. Also, after talking with the super cool law enforcement officer, the DA here is liberal and could care less about this type of crime. That's right. A felony charge and firearm that could murder a cop.... no worries here. So if you visit Dallas, just be aware of that.

This lock box is heavy, and it appears to be made very well. There are no loose parts. Everything fits as it should. There is enough room for a full-size handgun and a spare mag or two, but not much else. You might be able to get two handguns in this box. The cable is much thicker than I expected, and has a nice coating on it, which should prevent any rust. The cable wont stop someone with proper cutters, but it will stop someone from a smash-and-grab situation. The cable is held in place by the top and the bottom of the box, which makes it easy to move to either side. There is foam inside the top and bottom of the box, and it is dense and holds my items in place very well. I feel like I got a really decent deal here. If you need a lock box for your car or truck, this is a solid choice. I would recommend this lock box to anyone. I would/will buy another one of these lock boxes in the future.

I bought this one, to put inside the front seat of my truck, under the front-center folding seat. It is VERY heavy, but that is ok, because it feels like it is going to take a sledge hammer to break into it. I tried 4 other different types of gun lock boxes for my truck. but the metal was very thin and light weight.

Heavy cable compared to my other lock box. Also barrel lock is a plus. Came with a serial number for registration. Most importantly it holds a 4ā€ Ruger revolver and speed loaders. It barely fits under the front seat via the front seat access. I looked at cheaper boxes but this one seemed a better value.

It's simple. It locks with a key. No fingerprint readers or combo locks. You get what you pay for. This thing is heavy and there are two bars locking the lid shut. You could cut it open with a cutting wheel but it would take a while with a lot of sparks and noise. Amazon price was very good. Paid $38. Priced it at Cabelas at $49. UPDATE: I mounted this at the bottom of my center console in my 2019 Chevy Suburban. I used paper to get the pattern of the two bolts at the bottom of the console and used the pattern to drill two holes in the lockbox so I could bolt it down. I had to buy two replacement bolts at Lowes because the stock ones in the console were not long enough. When I leave my vehicle with a gun in it for long periods I have a rubber floor mat in the console that conceals the safe. Unless you knew to look for the safe you'd never come across it. I work at an airport so I can't take my gun into work.

This box is surprisingly heavy. The steel is heavy gauge and it locks securely. I bought this because it meets the criteria for TSA travel and will serve well during vehicle travel also. I’m happy with it and find it exceeds my expectations.
