Works Surprisingly Well!
In an article, I saw a reference to testing your brake fluid for water content to determine if it needed to be changed. I figured the test equipment to do this might be quite expensive, but went ahead and checked on Amazon to see what was available. I found the Beley Brake Fluid Tester, liked the design, checked the reviews (mostly quite good), and best of all found the price much less than I had anticipated. After some consideration, I ordered the LED version. It arrived a few days ago and I've since had a chance to play with it. I'm really quite pleased with it's performance. I tried the probe in new brake fluid and it gave me a .1% reading and again testing straight water....the alarm sounded and the lights indicated greater than 4% water content (the highest reading possible). Next day I checked the brake fluid in my car and got a 2.5% reading (in the yellow zone). Which is exactly what I had expected based on the time since the last change, but it was nice to have firm confirmation and know I'm not yet in the red danger zone.....although, I have to say, once the weather improves, a brake fluid flush is definitely on my schedule. At this point, I highly recommend this brake fluid tester.

Used on every inspection
9v battery sold separately. That aside, the unit powers up and audibly lets you know it's ready. It is easy to see when the fluid is entering a dangerous level due to the bright front panel LEDs. Changing modes is as quick as a single button press. It's light in your hand despite the size of the body filling your hand. Even will oily hands I don't have to worry about it slipping from my grasp and breaking on the ground or disappearing into a void in an engine bay. I use this tool on every multi-point inspection that comes into my bay. With a 9v battery it lasts longer than the AA equipped tool truck unit at the shop.

Works well at a good price
I tested the, um, tester on fresh brake fluid from a newly-opened container, and on fluid that had been in the brake reservoirs of two motorcycles for 20 and 22 months respectively. The fresh fluid tested as good, and the almost-two-year-old fluid was marginal on both 'bikes. That's what I would expect, and I have every reason to believe that the tester is accurate. It seems to be exactly the same device as some "special tools" from motorcycle manufacturers, but at a sane price.

Keep Tabs on Your Brake System
Changing brake fluid unnecessarily just once will cost you several times the price of this unit. I saw a shop using this device. I had previously used test strips for the same purpose this is much better. Open the master cylinder fill cap, turn on device, select DOT category,3,4,5. insert the probe, instant reading. Reusable indefinitely. I now know when fluid should be changed. They tell you that water in the brake fluid lower boiling point and could cause brake fade but the other major issue is high moisture content in the fluid will corrode brake system internals another pricy and potentially dangerous issue.

Works great.
This tool works better than you think. It can be calibrated. To ensure accuracy use genuine oem brake fluid especially when calibrating. Calibration should only be done if the tool gives inaccurate reading on new oem brake fluid. Steps to calibrate: 1) remove battery 2) remove back cover 3) you will see 2 switches at back. Toggle any 1 and test by replacing battery, the reading will get better or worsen toggle the 2 switches in combination to get "OK." Result. 4) once confirmed install back cover and screws. 5) Secure battery and your done.

Works on all three brake fluid types
Seems to be well-made and works accurately. Although I would’ve paid $10 or so more if it came with the case to protect it but I guess the box will work for now.

Does the job.
This is a great product. I have already used it on two on my vehicles. I purchased it because my Servicing Auto Dealer said I needed to change the brake fluid because my vehicle is over two years old and I didn't believe him. Thanks to this break fluid tester I know my fluid is still in good shape. I will check it again before my next oil change to determine its condition at that time.

Important in my shop.
Seems like a good product. I use it in my motorcycle shop to test brake fluid. Works good. I like it because it shows exactly what percentage of water is in the brake fluid, rather than just telling a customer that he needs to change his fluid, now I can show proof as to why he definitely needs to change it. It adds credibility to my recommendations.

Works as advertised
Appears solid and well made. Seems accurate. Better that the pen shaped ones that break after a few uses. Decided to spend extra money to get one that would last longer. Time will tell.
