Really nice little instrument!

This came with all the parts stated and all in excellent condition. Tines are tuned. The sounds have a little bit of a bell-like voice in my opinion. It actually sounds better than the videos I watched. The Kalimba is solid and sturdy. I know how to read notes on piano sheet music and quickly played two songs. The only not-so-good thing is that the "user manual" is a total joke. The front cover has a picture of the Kalimba and the words "Kalimba User Manual" while the back cover identifies the tines, the tuning tool and products bag and a picture of two hands holding the Kalimba in a "playing" position with the following complete set of instructions: "Hold the kalimba by hands,play the keys back and forth by thumbs" [There are no typos by me. That is exactly what it says.] When you unfold the "manual" the inside two facing pages are completely blank. (I still give it five stars because the instrument and accessories are really good!) I bought the one with the hard case and the case itself is really good.

Great little instrument

This is a well built instrument that is fun to play around with. I have experience playing piano, guitar, bass, ukulele, etc. and this is very much it's own thing. I find it difficult to get used to because of how the notes are laid out (lowest note in the center and alternating higher notes on the left and right). However, it would be pretty difficult to play anything that sounds bad on this. Everything sounds so pretty and nice. I think this would be a great instrument for children showing interest in music. The stickers that come with this I found to be pretty ugly and not worth using.

Wow! Just wow!

I have to admit. I am pretty impressed by Donner Kalimba. First, I received the one that have the notes engraved onto the keys. It saves me time by NOT having to cut the note sticker and putting it onto each key. I really like that they engraved the keys with the notes! Secondly, I purchased Gecko mahagony and Gecko Koa wood kalimba. I am not 100% satisfied with the Gecko brand due to the keys was not tuned like the Donner Kalimba. However, I did tune it with the app that they suggested and their Kalimba was also great (not trying to bash Gecko brand). I also own several other brand Kalimbas, so I kind of knew what I wanted out of a Kalimba. Next, I would say the finish of the Donner Kalimba is solid. And it stands out from the Gecko brand because there’s two cut grooves on the side of the Kalimba so it’s easier to handle. Although the Gecko brand isn’t bad either. I wish Donner would add a polyurethane coating onto the finish like Gecko. One sentence to sum up this purchase: One of the best Kalimba on the market. Everything about this Kalimba is great! From the sound, to the build is screaming QUALITY! If only Donner come up with a Koa (acaia) wood model, I would not hestitate to purchase that too. It arrived quickly in good packaging and great condition

It arrived quickly in good packaging and great condition, already tuned! It sounds lovely and is fun to play around with even though I don't have any musical training. The stickers & tuning hammer are nice conveniences, bit tricky to put the stickers on but I figured it out. The sound is very soothing and yet quiet enough to play behind a closed door without bothering others, so it's a great instrument if you have roommates or want to play at night. The craftsmanship is also beautiful, I like the sun design, it's surprisingly comfortable to hold (I've got small hands), and I was also surprised how pretty & smooth the wood grain is. I'm glad I got this for my first kalimba. I definitely recommend it.

Fine Kalimba Instrument

Wonderful little musical instrument!!! Quality workmanship. Nearly indistructable. I ordered the 10 key but there weren't enough higher notes to play songs I love to sing. So I ordered the kalimba with 17 tines, this one. Love it. Anyone can play. It was tuned accurately. So was my 10 key. Shouldn't have to retune this much, maybe not at all. The tines are thick so playing requires more pressure than other kalimba instruments. But that's what makes this kalimba nice for kids as well. Enjoy.

Definitely a good buy

This product is great. Nice, rich sound quality and came with all the components as shown in the description (tuning hammer, stickers for labeling the tines, and the felt bag to carry it around). It shipped within a few days and I got it a little under a week later, soundly packaged and perfectly in tune (C Major). Wonderfully crafted and solidly built, definitely above what I expected for the price.
