This is the best replacement remote for a Roku I have ever used. (I have used many) The buttons have a clean crisp snap in their action, not mushy like most. Fit and Finnish is excellent. The IR transmitter LED is very strong, can even bounce a usable signal of a wall or ceiling. (Most Chinese replacements need a lazer pointer taped to them for aiming.) I ordered 2 more before they disappear. This an IR only replacement not an RF. No pairing button. Other than a factory remote, nothing compares.

We bought two of these remotes to replace the original ones that came with our Roku players because the original remotes did not have MUTE capability. I don't think the engineers that designed the original Roku remotes ever had to use them in situations where it's necessary to lower the volume of the TV quickly, especially during commercials when the volume seems to ramp up several levels. Our Roku boxes are placed on the back of our flat screen TVs. There has been some discussion in other people's revues about these controllers being IR based (as opposed to Bluetooth based) and so they will need a direct line of sight to the Roku box for the controller to work its Roku specific buttons (volume controls work off the TV). We were worried about this when we ordered our remotes. It turns out that if your Roku box is not directly in the line of sight to your viewing position across the room, you can still operate the remote by bouncing its IR signal off the ceiling! It's kind of like playing billiards. Experiment with angles and try bouncing the signal off of a wall, a ceiling, or a cabinet. You'll be surprised how well it works. At least is did for us. These remotes are a bit pricey, but for the ability to mute sound almost instantly, it's worth it to us. We are happy with our remotes and would definitely recommend them to others.

With this remote, I no longer have to juggle multiple remotes. If I'm watching something that will be sstreamed, I need nothing else. We use PSVue for Cable channels, Netflix, and Amazon Prime, so we have no need for the original remote now. Iove that the power, volume, and mute buttons work with our Sony TV. So much easier.

Forget all the other generics out there. This is the one you’ll want! We’ve had this for a little over a week now and couldn’t be happier with the remote! Connected to our Roku express and ultra both right out of the package. The buttons are perfect, they spring back instantly, and both of our rokus respond to this remote flawlessly! I wish I would’ve found this remote several remotes ago, because it is AMAZING. It’s the closest things to the original remote that I’ve found. The buttons are a little different, but once you get used to the new placement, operating is a breeze. Do yourself a favor and skip over the other cheapies and you’ll save yourself a ton of frustration and money because you won’t be buying a ton of different remotes looking for the right one. I plan on buying more just tonhave around, because my children seem to lose everything. Ha.

Love this remote. I put 2 AAA batteries in the remote immediately it worked with my Roku. No pairing and no setup involved. I bought 2 of these remotes and they work well.

I knew when I purchased this replacement remote it was not a 'point it anywhere' like the remote that came with my ROKU Express. I didn't realize how handy and convenient that feature is until now. This replacement works well and serves the basic purpose. However I am continuing to search for a 'true' replacement realizing it will likely cost many times more than this one. But I needed a replacement ASAP.

I absolutely loved this item. It worked as described. No pairing just put batteries in the compartment and it worked right out of the package. I will say this. It does not have the star icon that is on Roku remote to move channels on The Roku Express but I don't even care. I bought a Roku Express a few months ago. The remote suddenly stopped working. These remote SAVED THE DAY for me.

I am using this remote instead of the standard Roku remote. It's very convenient because it does the common functions of the TV remote, so I don't have to use two separate devices. It's really easy to program. I have 9 of these, one for each of my 9 TVs. With a Next gen remote extender, a single Roku Express and an 8-way splitter, I can change the channel on 8 of the TVs from any room. I have a second Roku for the 9th TV so guests can watch a different channel. This allows me to control multiple TVs in the rooms where I'll be working from whatever room I'm in. As I go from room to room, I can hear the TV program without interruption. I don't know why this asks for picture and sound ratings as the remote doesn't affect the broadcast quality.

I've made do with various after-market Remotes for my Roku Express and none of them have been great. I left another aftermarket Roku Remote a 5 star review on Amazon because it was the best I had come across. But THIS after-market Roku Remote is an order of magnitude better than any other ROKU remote I've ever used and it deserves 50 stars! The fit and finish are perfect. The keys and buttons are firm, springy and make clean predictable and accurate contacts and connections. The signal it sends to my ROKU Express is flawless as long as the remote is pointed at the unit. This remote is, in every respect, as good as, if not better than, the OEM Roku Remote that came with my new Roku Express. Although the buttons on this remote are laid out and shaped somewhat differently from the OEM Roku Remote, the keys and buttons are layed out logically, intuitively and clearly. THIS IS THE BEST ROKU REMOTE I'VE EVER USED AND I'VE TRIED MANY - INCLUDING BOTH AFTER-MARKET AND ROKU OEM!

This remote is ideal for people in very specific circumstances. If... You have a Roku device that works with IR remotes Your TV doesn't support HDMI-CEC Your Roku remote doesn't already have a TV power button on it You don't have or don't use the private listening feature on your original Roku remote ...then this remote is right for you. I fit all of the above categories, and I wish I'd bought something like this years ago. Previously I used a universal remote programmed to work with my TV and Roku, but this device is superior because it's preprogrammed for Roku and doesn't have a bunch of buttons you don't need. The build quality and feel of the buttons aren't as good as an OEM Roku remote, but it's also half the price. Plus, this remote has a feature the original doesn't - you can remap the channel shortcut buttons.
