3d pen

I bought this pen for my daughter's 10th birthday. She really likes it but gets frustrated with it. She had me make her three barbie chairs the first day she got it because Lord knows patience is not one of her strengths. After seeing me use it she is now trying to be patient and learn how to use it. I believe with some practice she will get the hang of it and love it. I believe it's a great gift it's just that, with anything, you will need practice to be able to use it better.

Fun and easy to use

This 3D pen is easy to use for my 11 year old. A couple of things that need to be added to the instructions are: 1. To pause the pen you press the "load" button. 2. The pen needs to be paused first and then press the "unload" button to take out the filament. 3. After you change colors you will have an inch or so of the first color continue to come out and then an inch or so of the new color blended with the old color. It doesn't use the filament as fast as I expected. Overall, a good purchase.

Great 3D pen for kids as a gift

I ordered this 3D because the price was reasonable and the reviews were quite good. The 3D pen itself worked great. There were are couple of minor issues I found with the 3D pen. When inserting the PLA sometimes it will get stuck and I had to remove and re-insert it again to get it work. Sometimes I have to do this a couple of times. Also when inserting a new PLA will also sometimes will not fully insert so I have to remove and re-insert again to get it working. Another minor issues is the PLA that came with the 3D pen. The different color PLA strings gets tangled up and took quite some time to untangle them. Otherwise over all for the price and quality this pen is a great gift for kids to play with.

Easy to use, set up and put away even for my 10 year old.

Easy to use, set up and put away when done. This is all very important because it was a gift for my 10 year old. He set it up and got it going all on his own and is getting better and better at making stuff. It's very similar to using a hot glue gun that squeezes out the glue on its own.

Great 3D Pen!!!

This is an awesome 3D pen. I have a 3D printer, which I use to make different components and parts. However, many of the parts have to be made separately and then adhered to make a complete part. I was able to use the same PLA filament that I used on the printer in the pen. The pen has three different speed adjustments. I adjusted the pens printing speed to its slowest settings and then used it to weld the 3D printed parts together. I was able to use the same filament from the printer to weld the components, which made for a beautiful seamless weld. The pen also comes with instructions for setting up, basic controls and indicators, troubleshooting, and fun drawing tutorials for kids. I'd definitely recommend this pen. The kit also comes with plenty of sample filament of various colors to try. The colors come in glow in the dark and non-glow in the dark filament. The kit also comes with a nice pen stand and can use almost any PLA and ABS filament that is 1.75 mm.

Awesome STEM and STEAM 3D pen!

Wonderful 3D pen for 9 year old boy! This pen is easy to use, safe if you are careful, fun and creative! My son loves to create with this pen. I would advise to be very careful with the hot tip of the pen to avoid getting burned. You can download templates for just about any object to create, including fortnite patterns on google. There are also loads of YouTube videos for ideas and troubleshooting if you have a problem. Overall I would recommend this product anyone! My son is turning into a little artistic engineer with these creations!

Magic at an affordable price point

A pen that draws in 3D? I would have lost my $%&! 30 years ago as a kid for something like this. And I've been pining for a 3D printer. So when I bought one of these for my crafty niece I had to get one too. VERY easy to set up and start, and very straightforward to use. I am having a problem getting clean consistent lines, but that's probably me so I'll keep practicing. In the meantime, I've made a couple things like a butterfly, and these glow-in-the-dark mushrooms. Not perfect, but still it's like magic!

Great set for 11-year old to try out his 3D drawing skills

Easy to use straight out of the box. My son likes to draw and found out about 3D pens from some youtube videos and wanted one ever since. I wanted to get a good quality set for a reasonable price and this one fits the bill. Observations so far: No jamming Easy to use Seems pretty well-built Relatively quiet (some noise, but it seems pretty common) Would definitely buy again.

Cool gift for beginners

High level, my 7 year old bought this. He was able to understand himself how to use the pen. He made the bike as his very first creation, and now uses it to create cube creatures from his favorite video games. Likes: Easy to set up and use The filaments last much longer than I thought We plan out objects on graph paper, create the sides, and then assemble The filament comes out cool enough to not burn if you touch it immediately Dislikes: This is essentially a hot glue gun - if you leave it sit for any small period of time, filament starts leaking out, just like a hot glue gun would You have to plan out your usage of colors - use filaments from light to dark, otherwise you'll end up with a ton of bleed over
