These are very easy to install as replacement for recessed lighting fixtures, considerably brighter that original lighting fixtures, and very economical use of electricity.

I'm very pleased with these Philips LED downlights. They're higher quality construction than I expected and look great in our family room. We needed more brightness in there, and now we're very happy with the light output from these 6 LEDs. The outer housing is metal, rather than the plastic I expected. Metal is better for heat dissipation and prolonged service life, and LED are naturally much lower heat to begin with. Being European (Dutch), it seems that Philips also has stricter manufacturing standards than many companies. Philips has for years used eco-friendly shaped egg crates for their electronics and home appliances, but the packaging here is entirely cardboard and ZERO waste. Everything can be recycled. There's no plastic at all to discard. NONE. Some of the illustrations and diagrams are a bit cryptic, owing to the lack of words but there's really not much to figure out. Removing your existing trim ring is recommended for aesthetics. I opted not to and just pushed these into the recessed cans. I didn't want to unhook the spring clips, take off the trim ring, and them fumble around putting them back on. The dimming range is very good. Our dimmer is a Leviton Decora and has discrete 5 levels (not a slider). There's no annoying buzz from the lights, like I experienced with lower quality LED bulbs I bought (Lighting Ever, AmazonBasics). The light is a nice warm yellow light, like a traditional incandescent. 2700K is very warm, and if you don't know what that means, look up "color temperature chart" on google. The estimated 35,000 hr life-span is in the middle tier. 50,000 is typically at the high end while 10,000 is for cheap quality LEDs. At maximum brightness, it will take 15 hours to burn 1 kW, costing us about $0.15 based on our local electrical rate.

I recently moved into a new home with over 24 recessed can lights with ugly trim and light bulbs that did not full cover openings. Aside from the fact that the halogen lights turned my house into a sauna when on, they were also incredibly inefficient. These guys replicate the same sodium look but cost a fraction to operate and don't give me a sun tan in the process. In particular, I appreciate that these are much higher quality than the parmida retrofits I first installed. These have a complete metal housing and trim, and sit flush over the entire can area with no gap between the ceiling. My parmida ones are much cheaper and low quality. The last thing I will say is that the smart color temp changes while dimming is really cool, adding a more amber candle light effect as the lights get darker. Very cool and realistic. Highly recommended!

Add the cost of a trim ring and a decent LED bulb and these things are a bargain. They are rated for wet areas which I used them in a shower. The light is excellent and bright. These are much sleeker than the trim and bulb and I wish I'd done all of the basement lights with these. Over time they will all get switched out.

These lights are a little different than other recessed lighting retrofit fixtures. First off these change color as they're dimmed becoming warmer (more yellow) the further they're dimmed. Compared to other LED recessed lights I have, these have a broader range becoming a little dimmer than others I have on the same dimmer switch. As I'm using these in my bedroom, I prefer these much more than the ones I had previously both for the range and for the color. These are actually more like the incandescent lights I originally had, but use only 11 watts and look a lot nicer. Installation on these lights is a little different than most. All of the other LED recessed lights I own have springs that clip into the can and then retract up. These have a completely different mounting system, but seems to work just as well. It has three metal arms that swing out. After screwing the adapter into the socket and connecting the light, you simply push it up and it snaps into place. To remove you simply twist it counter-clockwise and the arms retract and it drops out.

I really like these lights. They are the perfect light for our kitchen. We chose the daylight LEDs to avoid a yellow hue. What I like about this light is it shows everything true to its color. We have them hooked up to a dimmer and they work perfectly with the dimmer. They were extremely easy to install. It took us roughly 30 minutes to install 10 of these.

Very easy install. Installed all 6 in less than 20 minutes.

These are good bright LED bulbs. I am using these in my 6 inch Halo cans and they work as described. You have to remove the existing trim and bulb in order for this to work. This is the first time I ever seen LEDs with this tight of locking system. The trim/bulb has 3 blades that swing out, and then you push it into the can. if you need to remove it you twist it loose. I like this design better because it gives it a tighter fit, and it is so much easier to install versus the clamp ones. The lights are bright, and come on instantly. The trim is not forgiving so if you had a trim kit that you were able to shift a bit to cover a bad drywall cut, you will need to patch the drywall to use this. I have a whole that is cut slightly bigger but had a trim ring that was able to cover it up. I cannot do that with these LEDs so I will have to add some compound. the lights look modern, and clean. I like the LED because they are not a big an eyesore as a bulb. They make the ceiling look a lot cleaner. I would definitely get more of these in the future.

We have a LOT of can fixtures in the house - at least 40 of them. Some have one style of bulb, others have different styles - as long as they matched it was fine. The problem is that you but 6 bulbs to replace floods in one room and they look good - then one goes bad a year or two later. And it's no longer made. So you wind up with a mix and match of bulbs. We have these retrofits in the basement and love them, and have slowly been putting them in other rooms. They look so much better than bulbs - the flat, matte, white surface looks cool and illuminates evenly. Install is literally seconds - screw the adapter into the socket, plug the connector into the fixture, push it up and into place. Done. Everything about the fixture says "quality" - nothing feels cheap and it looks really nice.
