The unit is well build and absolutely does what it is supposed to do. It even does more than the support thought it can. I wanted to share a single monitor and a wireless keyboard mouse combo between two laptops – without losing any of the KB and mouse functionalities. The limitation I run into (confirmed by the support - very responsive) was that by plugging the wireless USB dongle into KVM’s back USB port the ability to switch between the two laptops via mouse double-click worked BUT functionality of some of the dedicated KB buttons was lost (specifically media and audio). If on the other hand I plugged the wireless USB dongle into this KVM’s front USB port the situation reversed: KB media buttons worked BUT mouse-driven switching did not. Alas, I discovered that I can control wireless KB through the front USB (and therefore retain functionality of all media buttons) while controlling wireless mouse via the back USB port (and therefore retain switching using the mouse). Warning, not all combinations of KB/mouse work in this setup and the one that worked for me after testing several combinations (and going via several BestBuy returns!!!) is a Logitech KB K540 and a HP Z3700 mouse. Now I don’t even need to see that KVM box since I can do all from the KB/mouse. Nice!

[EDITED]: I now have both of the 4-port versions: mirrored and extended desktop. Product: 4-Port Extended: I'm in love with this device. I work from home and have a company laptop as well as a tower PC for my personal use. I use extended desktop on both. For years I've tried an array of methods to make switching between my devices easier: using different input methods for each monitor, dual KVMs (one for each monitor), or simply going without the second monitor. Over the years I had seen a few different KVM products on the market that could handle dual-monitor, extended-desktop, but all of them had big price tags and less than glowing reviews. This product was made to fill the gap. The price is attractive and it doesn't have any of the issues I've seen reported with more expensive dual-head KVMs. The switching is instant, it works great with a wireless keyboard/mouse combo, you can customize the switching method, and it comes with all the cables necessary to hook up 4 computers. From the packaging to set up and use, this product was well thought out. With all the cables coming out the back of the unit, it makes for a much cleaner desktop. Thanks CKL! Product: 4-Port Mirrored: Before buying this product I asked a question about whether or not it supports extended display. There was some confusion on both sides about what exactly that meant. In hindsight, I should have realized without dual inputs, there's really no way to support extended desktop. And looking at the configuration of cords, there's only one HDMI cable going to/from each PC to the unit. After doing some searching on google, I don't see any method of splitting output from a single HDMI output to two monitors for anything other than duplicated display. After my purchase and initial review, the manufacturer contacted me and was very helpful in getting me a product that meets my needs. If you're looking for a KVM that does duplicate display, I highly recommend this product. It comes with all the cables needed to support up to four computers. It's well thought out and you can configure the hotkey amongst other things. The manufacturer was very helpful. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family. Some of the issues I've seen in the reviews of other related products are: LEDs are too bright, wireless keyboard & mouse (operating off of a single USB) don't work well, and poor video quality. I've not experienced any of those issues with this product. So far my favorite feature is the ability to use the mouse for switching between computers. If what you want out of a dual-head KVM is duplicated display, then this is the product for you. If you want extended desktop, where you can send two separate video feeds to the KVM device then your options are currently somewhat limited in the HDMI area of the market. I'm changing my initial review to 5 stars, due to the quality of the device and the responsiveness of the manufacture to resolve my issue.

Works perfectly. Included cables are a good length and work great. The USB on the front, i have an un-powered USB hub plugged into. Runs everything i have plugged in so far: iphone, printer, wired xbox controller, joystick. Bought this for my work/personal laptop setup. Tired of swapping cables 5 times a day to switch keyboard/mouse/duel monitors. Got the 4 port so when i build a new desktop in a year or so with my daughter ill still have a open port to use it with. Every time you push the button to switch from one computer to the other, it beeps. Not a fan of that but ill take it over swapping cables and monitor inputs. Not annoying enough to knock off a star as you can tell. Not a problem with KVM switch, but something you need to be aware of: If you are converting from VGA to HDMI to work with this adapter, make sure your adapter will allow the full resolution. This KVM switch works great with high resolution. If you buy a crappy adapter, it will not allow you to get the full use of this KVM switch. Again, not an issue with this switch. When i put in a quality adapter i got full resolution through to my duel 27" ASUS monitors.

The KVM works perfectly allowing 3 laptops to share monitors, keyboard, and mouse. The front USB port is connected to a USB hub which enabled sharing of a webcam and USB headset. The only problem we had was finding a HDMI to VGA adapter that worked with our configuration. After trying 5 different models, this one worked: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K4W62R4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 No problems with screen refresh rates or mouse/keyboard response times. The only item worth noting is that when switching between computers, only the active computer recognizes the USB devices. Every time you switch from one computer to another it recognizes the USB devices being added or removed.

I got this so I could switch my monitors between my PC and a Lorex NVR. it is doing working as advertised. I had some initial issues, I found the support contact info on a label on the bottom of the unit. After talking doing a Skype Chat session with tech support ( in China so allow for time difference) I figured out what I was doing wrong and everything is fine. The problem is my PC an Intel NUC with a mini-HDMI and mini-DP ports. I had to get an active Mini-DP to HDMI adaptor and that fixed everything. The unit is all metal, very solid. All the ports are solid. no wiggling around. I am very impressed with the quality. The paper manual in the box was OK, but not great. They are working on a new version which they sent me via Skype. It is a significant improvement. NOTE for the HotKeys, press them one after the other, not at the same time. I believe they are going to change the labels from a + sign which I interpreted as press at the same time, to a > or -> I am using mine at 1080p, not 4K. Limited by my computer capability Support can be reached on Skype at Eastwind_11

This review covers the 4-port Dual Monitor Extended Display KVM Switch I'm giving this KVM switch 5 stars, but I do want to give a heads-up that I needed to install USB Overdrive (shareware) on my MBPs to get it running 100%. I bought this KVM switch to replace an older IO Gear KVM switch. The IO Gear was DVI and only supported one monitor. I've been running with dual monitors and manually switching the inputs on the extended monitor so I figured it was time for an upgrade. Shopping around, I found the prices for KVM's that supported dual monitors in extended display mode ridiculous... Then I found this CKL-944HUA KVM Switch!! Wow!! A fraction of the price of its competitors - great, solid build - and it's working perfectly! I'm running it with a mid-2015 MacBook Pro, a 2018 MacBook Pro, a Lenovo Thinkpad, and a Dell Inspiron desktop. It switches flawlessly between all of them. I did have an initial issue with my MacBooks (surprise, surprise). Everything seemed to be working right out of the box, so I was thrilled - but then I quickly found out that my mouse clicks were not working (I tried 3 different wired mice). I contacted the CKL support and they gave me two suggestions: Try the CTRL+CTRL+L hotkey (not sure exactly what that enabled/disabled). It "worked" in that I was able to click - so again I was thrilled - but then quickly realized that I couldn't click AND drag! lol So, on to the second suggestion: Install "USB Overdrive" - a well known piece of software that is a "device driver for macOS that handles any USB or Bluetooth mouse, keyboard, trackball, joystick, gamepad or gaming device from any manufacturer and lets you configure it either globally or on a per-application, per-device basis." USB Overdrive is shareware - $20 if you want to play fair - but worth every penny. IT WORKED! With USB Overdrive installed everything is working flawlessly with my two MBPs and the KVM Switch. Super smooth hotkeys (with several configuration options), fast HDMI switching, and no audio, mic, keyboard, or mouse issues. It just works! If you're familiar with the 2018 MBP, you know it's dongle hell!! I had all kinds of problems when I was manually switching inputs on my second extended monitor - but having the KVM controlling the switching - and leaving my monitors on just one input - everything is working great. It was almost 4 stars because it didn't "just work" right out of the box, but - given how temperamental MBPs are in the first place, and given the FANTASTIC support from the CKL folks (not to mention, price!! Wow again!) - this KVM switch is absolutely 5 stars!!! One final note, because this product page currently supports 4 different switches, make sure you're selecting the right one - specifically whether you want "mirrored" displays or "extended".

I recently upgraded to a pair of 32" 4k LG monitors ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0748KJY4Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01__o00_s03?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) and needed a KVM that would handle a dual-head setup. I had looked at all the DisplayPort offerings, but apparently DP cannot handle KVMs very well, with issues like resolutions being lost, monitors "forgetting" application window and icon locations, and a long list of other complaints. My previous setup was a pair of 27" monitors using an IOgear DVI-D KVM which has been rock solid for about 10 years. I figured it would be easy to find a dual-head HDMI KVM. Well, I was wrong! I have spent over a MONTH looking at every single KVM I could find, and must have viewed a combined total of 200 product detail pages! I looked at speciality sites, overseas sites, and scoured Amazon. I could find nothing that had a reasonable number of positive reviews where at least half the customers were not complaining about issues that would clearly affect me as well. If I could find one, it was $600 or more and was a rack mount unit! I gave in and bought a $500 IOGEAR Dual HDMI KVM GCS1322TAA3. Well, that rack-mount monster showed up and right away one of the HDMI ports did not work, plus it needed three sets of special $90 cables! That would have been $800+ for a KVM, the cost of my monitors! It also did not support a wireless keyboard or mouse. That was returned! Then this CKL KVM showed up on Amazon, and it looked great, even though there were only 4 reviews at the time. I went to order it and it was sold out! I finally found it for sale on another site, and then it was sold out too! I finally got lucky and the manufacturer had ONE for sale so I snatched it up. They shipped it from China using DHL so while it took a week to show up, it was pretty quick - they even delivered it on Presidents Day (a holiday for many shippers). Installing was a breeze. I got everything plugged in and fired up my setup. I set the resolution to match my monitors and it worked, but my monitors were flashing an "Out of range" message. I went into my monitors and changed a setting and it worked fine. I switched to my laptop and that worked fine as well. I could not believe how easy it was, and the price is great! My setup: (1) Custom PC with an Nvida GTX-970 outputting through one native HDMI port, and out one DisplayPort port with a DP-to-HDMI adapter. Works perfectly. (2) Dell Latitude 5580 through USB-C to Dell D6000 docking port, outputting through on native HDMI port, and out one DisplayPort port with a DP-to-HDMI adapter. Works perfectly on one monitor, but I currently can't get the other DisplayPort output to run full 4K even though I had it working initially! However, this is a very locked-down work computer so I suspect it's not a KVM issue. Bottom line, YES I RECOMMEND THIS. PROS: * Works exactly as expected. * Includes 4 cables (for my dual head, dual port version) - two (2) standard HDMI cables, and two (2) "combo" HDMI cables. These combo cables are kind of cool - they have an HDMI cable, USB, and audio plugs on your PC side which is to be expected, but then on the KVM end there is *only* the HDMI plug. Apparently the KVM takes all those signals across the HDMI connection and then splits them out as needed. That simplifies the connections at the back of the KVM considerably, and is much more neat than my last KVM which looked like spaghetti. * The instructions are very understandable, with only a few items that are confusing at first. If you read through it 2-3 times it becomes pretty clear how to make things work. * There are a lot of neat features. For example, you can choose the "hot key" to be CTRL on the left or right side of the keyboard, or change it to SCROLL LOCK or NUMLOCK. You can disable the beep sound. You can reset the KVM via hotkeys. You can switch to a specific PC (1 or 2 in my case, but 4 if you get the 4 port version) or switch between what is turned on by double-clicking the middle mouse button. * This EXTENDS my Windows 10 desktop, allowing me to have different content on each monitor. * It is pretty small. I have it sitting on the back of my desk, but I could probably use double-sided tape and stick it under my desk as well. * It included everything I needed to get up and running EXCEPT the set of HDMI cables to my monitors. However, I had those already so I doubt this is an issue. * While directions are included, they also have a sticker right on top with the basics! * It is just so simple there's nothing more to say - it works as expected, it was a great deal at $129, and it is easy to use. CONS: * The included cords are a little short. Instead of a typical 6' long, they appear to be 4' or 5' long, which might be an issue if you want to put the KVM somewhere besides right on your desk. Check my other reviews as well, I'm a real customer, and I *refuse* to buy anything that has the hint of a fake review.

I am glad I contacted their tech support / customer service / when I was ready to give up. They were able to point me in the direction of the correct hook up with cables, and also into purchasing the VGA to HDMI Adapters, which I needed for both of my computers. This was after the second go around. The first time, I didn't spend the time, bought this HDMI Switch and sent it back and tried another brand and also send that one back because it didn't work. So, I am writing this now, to say, had I been patient, contacted their tech support earlier, who were super to work with, I would have been up and running a lot sooner. The device works great! Both my work laptop and my home tower computer are able to switch back and forth, and use both of my two monitors, extended display. Now and then, when I switch back and forth, there is some confusion, on what display needs to come up and I just hold the button in the front and then it reverts back to normal. Very happy with my purchase! It really beats switching the cables manually from my monitors from one computer to the other. I have not noticed any lag in the video quality on the monitors. Nor have I noticed a qualify difference in the audio. My mouse works fine as well. The switch itself, is made of a metal and seems to be durable. There is a beeping noise when you hit the "switch" button in the front, to switch between the two computers, which doesn't bother me. I leave the switch on and turn my computers in sleep mode or powered down when not in use. This seems to help, when I am ready to use my work or tower computer and there doesn't seem to be any lag time starting up or switching between computers. No complaints, well worth the money and very convenient to use. Some things I considered, when repurchasing this switch as opposed to the other brand: * ability to power it on or off. * extended display feature. * response time of the customer service / tech support I hope my review helps anyone that is looking for a Switch. I had a hard time deciding and read many reviews before deciding. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase, and so far, it has been working out really well.

I purchased this to switch between my home and work computers. The switch was easy to install with provided cables and easy to use. I contacted customer support with a few questions and they were fast to respond. I am including an image and instructions of my setup. I would recommend this switch and buy it again if needed. NOTE: I purchased the switch and two mini display to HDMI cables for this to work with my setup HDMI OUT A – Connect into the physical Monitor #1 HDMI OUT B – Connect into the physical Monitor #2 Note: Both of my Monitors are HDMI, but you can also use a DVI or VGA to HDMI converter First PC (home) Connect the first BLUE cable supplied by the switch into your (home) PC HDMI slot - labeled PC(a) Input#1 in the bottom left image Connect a mini display to HDMI cable to your (home) PC – labeled PC(a) Input#2 in the bottom left image Connect the first BLUE USB into your PC (home) USB slot –this will control the mouse on the switch I did not use mic or speaker, but hook those up if you want them connected to the switch Switch PC (home) Connect the other end of the supplied BLUE cable into the IN-1-A slot on the switch (output from PC (home) HDMI) Connect the other end of the mini-display cable into the IN-1-B slot on the switch (output from PC (home) mini display port) Second PC (work) Put the second BLUE cable supplied by the switch into your (work) PC HDMI slot Connect a mini display to HDMI cable to your (work) PC Put the second BLUE USB into your PC (work) USB slot –this will control the mouse on the switch Connect a mini display to HDMI cable to your (work) PC Switch PC (work) Connect the other end of the supplied BLUE cable into the IN-2-A slot on the switch (output from PC (work) HDMI) Connect the other end of the mini-display cable into the IN-2-B slot on the switch (output from PC (work) mini display port) I used a wireless keyboard and mouse, but you can also use a wired one. I purchased the Dual-View KVM Switch HDMI 4 Port version of this product. The device works perfectly. I did run into one problem initially with my custom built gaming computer where the motherboard was starting up with the power off when both the usb and hdmi wires were plugged in at the same time. CKL was extremely helpful and quick to diagnose the issue. They provided me with a new wire with an added diode which resolved the issue for me for this computer. The other computers connected were store bought computers and didn’t have this issue. While the product is great and works extremely well and as advertised the real all-star here is the company and their dedication to their clients. It was clear from the first interaction that they were invested in resolving my issue.
